Winning three senior majors was remarkable, it will have laid a few ghosts to rest.

Cool video. You can definitely tell you’ve built a relationship over the years. To be honest I wasn’t a fan of Monty in his regular tour playing days. But in recent years seeing and hearing him on TV interviews and other media outlets has completely changed my impression of him. It would be golden to get him to agree to come into the studio for a fitting video. 👍

Thanks Chris. I certainly think that could be arranged, he’d be up for that 👍🏻

Many people here in the states did not care for Monty at all. He was always cited as being thin skinned, but it was probably due to the fact that he was so damn good. I never fell into that camp. I always admired him. What sealed it for me was an episode of Playing Lessons With The Pros I believe. He said he didn’t win all of those Order Of Merit titles and have all the Ryder Cup success by trying to emulate someone else. He did it his way. I applaud him for that. Love to see the partnership!

We echo that, he’s an utter gentleman when he’s not at work. See you on the next live!

He has been very misunderstood over the years - how good he was in the Ryder a cup probably affected how popular he was in the US at the time sadly but Champions Tour has shown the US public a different Monty. As you rightly say he has always played his own game and done so quite well!

I LOVED that episode. I watched it incessantly and tried to model my swing after Monty.

There’s nothing like the best in golf - use what works for you - u can’t buy a better game - it’s blood sweat & tears etc

What works for the player is the whole idea of fitting rather the putting all the work in with something unsuitable which just makes it harder to improve - that is why all the top professionals do it too. The ultimate goal is to make the game more enjoyable
