When I played this I noticed that the music changed whenever I got close to solving the puzzle. I felt like a genius whenever that happened. It's such a great addition.
I absolutely love Cocoon, but I did find it a bit tedious at times. Like I knew what I had to do and where things needed to go, but I just couldn't do those things done quickly enough and that became frustrating. I think the only adjustment I would have made is either increasing the character's move speed, or adding a sprint button.
I agree that the game has some tedious moments, increasing the move speed a bit would be nice. But then all of the the timing based puzzles would have to be readjusted, which might not be a worth the trouble. A sprint button will never happen, since that would go against Carlsen's design philosophy.
I loved how he defines simplicity, only one stick and one button gameplay just reached a mindblowing level for me. Everything in this game was amazing it should be indie GoTY imo. Sea of Stars is another great indie game of this year but Cocoon is just a little better for my taste. And about puzzles which one did you like more, Cocoon or Talos 2?
@@indiegameoasis Limbo-like game really lacks story. I mean they do pretty good job without a story but a mindblowing story can really change the taste you have. Still I'm more close to Cocoon at this point. Talos 2 was good but there was so much room to be better.
I'll have to check this one out. I haven't heard an "Indie GOTY contender" claim since Hades (or if you want to be ironic with it, Pizza Tower). Usually I'd like a nice blend of action and PRETTY VISUALS!!!! But indulging in the occasional mellow puzzle game is a guilty pleasure of mine, great video! Can't wait to see more.

I noticed it too, and I remembered that was also something that happened in INSIDE. It's an excellent, subtle design trick.

I think I like Cocoon's puzzles a bit more since they're so unique. As a package I prefer Talos 2, loads of content and the writing is just so good.
