Yeah I actually like everything he hates. White stripe? Cool bit of design No Push Start? Good I like turning the key No active safety? Great! I like to drive the car not the other way around No carplay? perfect it wont get outdated No power? yeah its a corolla dude. its a slow car so its fun to row through the gears and thrash it at high RPM. Sounds like this was not the car for this gentleman.
I ended up leasing the spring green iM shortly after making that comment. And after 3 years I returned it. I should have bought it. Biggest regret ever! I loved that little car so much!!
#5 isn't so bad in my opinion. #4 isn't really much of a big deal. So to me I see this as a nit-picky personal preference. #3 is reasonable...ish. #2 is another nit picky personal preference. #1.... It's a basic car, man. Not a Supra.
my mom has a 2017 and she has issues with the wipers not clearing the windshield properly, defogging issues, and one of the covers on the front bumper (right side) keeps popping out and hangs there.
James Hewitt my friend at a qtoyota dealer hes a mechanic. he had a serious issue with push button start. the car wasnt detecting the remote even after reprograming and doing all the required steps. so a engineer from toyota had to fly out and reprogram it in a more complex manner that you need an engineer degree to fix it. the reason It was not reading was because the owner of the vehicle she toom her kids to karate practice every week and on top of the building was a big radio transmitter and it messed up the connection with the remote and the vehicle
the only thing that really made any sense was the lack of power and that weird white stripe imo. Pushbutton start is a gimmick, apple/android play is a luxury when it has aux and bluetooth, and the blind spot thing is a luxury. The car is $20k msrp, its not a mercedes
These are features that are not even available. Many other cars in this class have CarPlay, BLIS and Keyless/Push-button start available as options, at least.
I pay $ 19.500, pearl color, and all other extras include weather mats everything on it except GPS plus the rest of taxes and paperwork around $1,700. The $19.500 is the base price. very good suspension outside heater mirror and folding, excellent speaker system, interior excellent, not like before was very cheap
I can respect dissatisfaction with its power, but nothing else you complained about bothers me at all. If this is the worst an owner can say about it then it sounds like a great vehicle
All arguments are "this is 2017". Sounds like the kids these days saying everything should be free this is 2017 And I laughed at the starbucks you left in the shot driving off. Should have bought a Prius.
We have a 2018. It's been a fantastic car, #3 is a really good point. This car is ONLY equipped with TSS-C, meaning only lane departure warning (no lane keep assist), and no blind spot. It also doesn't have adaptive cruise control. I also wish rear cross traffic alert or parking sensors were optional. And yes, its SO SLOW.
i just bought mine. the stripe is no longer white. its silver with a chrome accent. i find all the things listed pretty silly considering the car is under 20k.
5 is actually nice af with the black paint, 4 is personaal i actually really like a key, #3 i have my head and eyes, I don't use any of the features for #2 and it's got bluetooth for spotify so that's dope, way more power than my 97 sentra
I have own car toytoa corrolla mi 4 dr 2017 price worth 20K too last two year ago and reneclt installing new tints . it good condition take care my own and software system update last year ago
People who buy this car are NOT looking for POWER...they want a budget car. Stop wining like a little girl & buy a Civic Type R if you want POWER...oh yeah!...be ready to pay an extra $16K more...give or take!
I smoke people with my im with manual paddle shifters with 7 gears what do you think WRC uses for racing porches ,no, little Toyota's ,Citroen, Subarus etc you got seat on my passenger side and you will see how to bring a rabbit running like a Chita.
No push start? that's fucking great. That's one thing that isn't going to fail. But I agree on AA and AC, unfortunately Toyota will not change their stance on this.
"I had to down shift to go up a hill, it's like 5th and 6th gear were overdrives" Well that's because they ARE overdrive gears. Do you know ANYTHING about how cars work?
That's exactly what I thought. I was laughing this entire video, I'm convinced this is satire. Complaining about a lack of power? It's a 1.8 Liter 4 Cylinder engine designed to do nothing more than get you from A to B. It's in no way marketed or designed to have power.
Yeah, that had me giggling, too. I had a 5-speed Toyota Tacoma, and you had to downshift to 2nd gear to get up some of the really steep inclines in West Virginia. I'm talking an 11% grade. So many folks don't understand how to use a manual-shifting vehicle.
Dislike: 1. Terrible rear & side-rear visibility. It's a safety issue. Back-up camera doesn't solve it. 2. Front seats suck you in! Major effort to get out. 3. No CD Everything else: great.
I must be like the only one that has an absolutely numb clutch pedal? also its bite zone is really narrow and unforgiving this car feels like anything else i've driven but starting it in 2nd gear I bought it used with 20,000 miles i've yet to find a thing that i like about the manual transmission as its been the worst of any car i've owned. long throws, first should be much lower, and 6th gear should be more like 5th how it stands 6th gear is pointless almost unless ur going like 60+ and if u got hills forget 6th hell ur probably just going to stay in 4th. I can look past everything else but the transmission and clutch was designed by satan as far as i'm concerned it'll probably last forever and make my life hell
Totally stock yea! But this is what it was for! ruclips.net/video/mmCKqnCjGBs/видео.html. Love your videos man! I know this is a video about the stock stuff but the iM has so much potential for upgrades or engine swaps.
This car should have been turbo-ed. They have the turbo 4 is200. That would have made toyota fans jaws drop.toyota has been just sooooooooooò Boring this is why I stopped paying attention to toyota after a no show of performance cars.
Well, this video has absolutely NOT changed my mind about the Toyota iM. I'm still buying one!
Us too!
Yeah I actually like everything he hates.
White stripe? Cool bit of design
No Push Start? Good I like turning the key

#1.... It's a basic car, man. Not a Supra.
To be fair, it's things HE hates about it
The biggest thing I hate about mine is it's not a transformer. I mean with the threat from the Decepticons, this is absolutely unacceptable.
if u are looking at the car with more power more option u gotta pay more . its good for the price .
Non of those are deal breakers for me.
my mom has a 2017 and she has issues with the wipers not clearing the windshield properly, defogging issues, and one of the covers on the front bumper (right side) keeps popping out and hangs there.
trying to dislike more than once
no cars should have push button start. tbh.
James Hewitt my friend at a qtoyota dealer hes a mechanic. he had a serious issue with push button start. the car wasnt detecting the remote even after reprograming and doing all the required steps. so a engineer from toyota had to fly out and reprogram it in a more complex manner that you need an engineer degree to fix it. the reason It was not reading was because the owner of the vehicle she toom her kids to karate practice every week and on top of the building was a big radio transmitter and it messed up the connection with the remote and the vehicle

....
How much do those cars cost?
I pay $ 19.500, pearl color, and all other extras include weather mats everything on it except GPS plus the rest of taxes and paperwork around $1,700. The $19.500 is the base price. very good suspension outside heater mirror and folding, excellent speaker system, interior excellent, not like before was very cheap
I got mine in blizzard pearl and the white stripe is a nice touch
Today a mechanical key ignition is priceless!
Not in my case
I can respect dissatisfaction with its power, but nothing else you complained about bothers me at all. If this is the worst an owner can say about it then it sounds like a great vehicle
First world problems.
who the hell going up hill in 6th gear?
Maybe he meant to say "second gear" and got his "s" sound mixed up. ;)
Idiots like this guy
All arguments are "this is 2017". Sounds like the kids these days saying everything should be free this is 2017
And I laughed at the starbucks you left in the shot driving off. Should have bought a Prius.

I want a new car with roll up windows, no radio, no AC and a full size spare tire, It's not an option!
want something you can not get any more vent windows
i just bought mine. the stripe is no longer white. its silver with a chrome accent. i find all the things listed pretty silly considering the car is under 20k.
Norman Huckins hows the navigation system on it?
I’m sure it’ll still be a good daily for me. 32 mpg average is way better than my current 20/25 premium only.
Who else prefers key then push to start
love my 2017 corolla hatch it’s been phenomenal so far.
His complaints are so trivial i have no respect for him. Plenty of power
great example of nit picking
Lol u got to watch what he loves about the 2017 toyota corrolla IM
Its a corolla maybe a matrix. Its a basic car no need for a push button start
5 is actually nice af with the black paint, 4 is personaal i actually really like a key, #3 i have my head and eyes, I don't use any of the features for #2 and it's got bluetooth for spotify so that's dope, way more power than my 97 sentra
Push button start isn't even a big deal.
most of these are extremely minor gripes for an cheap hatchback
I've had mine since 2017, not one problem. Of course it's not a Porsche. Gets me from point A TO POINT B!! Fill up once a month. 2018 model
I didn't hear a single thing that makes this car bad in anyway.
The only thing I'm skeptical about is the windows look sporty/small
Considering the price, it's a good deal. I think we could over-look the silly things mentioned. LOL
I have own car toytoa corrolla mi 4 dr 2017 price worth 20K too last two year ago and reneclt installing new tints . it good condition take care my own and software system update last year ago
I am sorry you hate the little white stripe inside. They had to put it somewhere though.
I hate that it doesn't have a CD player (for my Spanish dialogue). I also agree that it should have blind spot detection and Pedestrian detection.
Or you could just pay attention to where you are driving.
People who buy this car are NOT looking for POWER...they want a budget car. Stop wining like a little girl & buy a Civic Type R if you want POWER...oh yeah!...be ready to pay an extra $16K more...give or take!
Feel like this is the guy who would sell a car after having to replace the tires because maintenance was expensive
This is a pointless review.... I want one more now....
I smoke people with my im with manual paddle shifters with 7 gears what do you think WRC uses for racing porches ,no, little Toyota's ,Citroen, Subarus etc you got seat on my passenger side and you will see how to bring a rabbit running like a Chita.
Only one thing I hate is more dislikes than likes. Pass within 10 sec into the clip :P
push button start is stupid
these are all good in my book
I think you should put the 5 things you hate and love about cars in the same video.
No push start? that's fucking great. That's one thing that isn't going to fail.
But I agree on AA and AC, unfortunately Toyota will not change their stance on this.
I own this car and wish everyday I bought a third regular Corolla
"I had to down shift to go up a hill, it's like 5th and 6th gear were overdrives" Well that's because they ARE overdrive gears. Do you know ANYTHING about how cars work?
That's exactly what I thought. I was laughing this entire video, I'm convinced this is satire. Complaining about a lack of power? It's a 1.8 Liter 4 Cylinder engine designed to do nothing more than get you from A to B. It's in no way marketed or designed to have power.

I hate that the things you hate are so lame...
I have that same color
The only thing I don't like is the interior is smaller than the Corolla.
the 2022 corolla still doesn't have push start button
Anyone else hate how uncomfortable the dam seats are
Dislike:
1. Terrible rear & side-rear visibility. It's a safety issue. Back-up camera doesn't solve it.
2. Front seats suck you in! Major effort to get out.
3. No CD

It sucks in snow.
no push start button am in screw those button they always get screwed and cost a tone of money to fix. Not enough power geez its a corolla! xD
Totally stock yea! But this is what it was for! ruclips.net/video/mmCKqnCjGBs/видео.html. Love your videos man! I know this is a video about the stock stuff but the iM has so much potential for upgrades or engine swaps.
This guy has 48k subscribers?
This car should have been turbo-ed. They have the turbo 4 is200. That would have made toyota fans jaws drop.toyota has been just sooooooooooò Boring this is why I stopped paying attention to toyota after a no show of performance cars.
OMG!!!
#myvi2018
It's a Corolla...
its good for the price
gsh0ck3d it's actually a scion IM Toyota just adopted it
That's no excuse when Honda put genuine effort into the Civic
complain so damn much.. about nothing
