love your videos. They have got me interested again. I had many of the 1986 hot wheels. I was also fortunate to find the M2 1959 Cadillac at the local Wallymart .
The "Flip Buster". The one you just call the police car. When I was a kid. I came home from watching RoboCop. Love the movie but was disappointed that RoboCop didn't drive a unique vehicle. I was 9, and I went to my shoe box of hot wheels. Got this one out and decided this was RoboCop's "car"! To this day it's the only vehicle that I can picture RoboCop driving. I wasn't even impressed with the 'Robo Cruiser" from the TV series out of Canada.
Brilliant vid, always very well explained with prices. Your vids get my Hot wheel juices going and got me sorting my vintage cars out to compare. Thank you wtffor, look forward to the next, from a UK fan.
Another amazing yearly review!!! These are the videos I look forward to the most. I had been wanting to get into vintage Hot Wheels for awhile but had no idea where to start. Your collection and insight into all the models and variations are what got me started and help keep me going!!!
THANK YOU!!! I believe i said this before in another video but thank you for doing these older years. Being a Blackwall erea collector it helps so much!! (Im a GMC motorhome, 57 chevy, and 40s woodie lover!!)
You are very welcome! I'm extremely happy to hear these year-by-year Hot Wheels videos are so well received especially by vintage collectors such as yourself. It is my pleasure to make these videos and share in the hobby with all! Thanks for commenting and your continues support through watching my videos and spreading the word
I've been checking your collection abit for 2years very very nice I like how You put the history of the cars and how You acquired them. Had to Subscribe.
Very nice video as always. I am in awe of your collection. The year intrigued me for this reason. In 1986 I was in High School and Hot Wheels were the LAST thing on my mind... lol. Now however since I never or ever remember even looking at a Hot Wheels then I wanted to see what I missed. Now its just that this year didn't seem as good as others. There were some awesome cars as always. But 86 isn't my top year. I love the video just not the biggest fan of the releases. Back then I was more into video games.
as usual great educational, motivational, colorful and exciting video,..we are all looking forward to all your upcoming videos. you are the ultimate hot wheels guru,. ahem, hat wee, ahem,... lol,....
I have a yellow mid engine "Basha" Cruiser :D Bought it for 25 euro cents :D :D Your collection is the best, i just started with collecting Matchbox and Hot Wheels and hope to get at least all the cars from my birthyear which is 1981. Every once in a while i go to the thrift store and search for more :D
If you use facebook there are 2 AWESOME groups that im in that are blackwall erea groups. There ran very well with no drama, no BS, just lots of fun. One is called Gentlemans Diecast Club.( theres also Gentlemans dicast club after hours witch has a TON of raffles (we call cigars) going on every week. All 1994 and older cars) the other group is called HW Mafia Diecast. (Lots of auctions on the mafia group. Mix of HW JL and MB in the auctions but its all 1994 and older cars). Lots of Leo/India cars sold in both groups. And alot of prototypes come up. anyone who reads this is welcome to join. Just know that there blackwall erea groups.
Great video O-Dawg! I love watching your videos. You're very well versed & provide a wealth of knowledge of your diecast cars! Just wandering if you'd be interested in selling your red ice cream truck with the Pepsi logo? I think you said it was from 86 or 90.
Thank you for your feedback and compliments! I don't sell, and unfortunately those Pepsi trucks were a struggle for me to get and won't be leaving my collection anytime in the foreseeable future.
Hmmm... a rare set to find regardless! I'm not sure if they were packaged in reverse at times or not, but if they are mint then it's still a great find! I saw one on ebay just recently with an asking price of $399 USD..... I don't see these sets come up very often at all
I believe it is messed up, not sure why though. I would be very interested in your extra launcher, could you please e-mail me from my RUclips home page? Thank you!
I love these full year collection videos. One of my favorite on your channel!! I have an extremely rare Flying Colors casting variation I would like to talk to you about. I sent you an email. Thank you in advance for you time!!
I've been trying to get that Race Ace (Fairmont) for a while. I find it but it sells for way more than $30, I can never find it for less than $75-$100 loose and $150 on the card. Crazy. I'll keep looking. The Canadian on card they want $250. No way.
Those 10 packs are pretty common surprisingly, they were from a mail-away promo in 1992. I have one that I bought years ago, cars mint in the baggies and original box.... I paid around $25 for it. I would expect they are worth between $25 and $35 today in such condition.
was there another company making toy cars in the 1980's that made very heavy well made metal cars? I remember having a couple cars that were just on another level as far as quality/weight/balance, although they could have been just a special edition or something
@@wtffor I just found what some of them were. it was the Ultra Hots line, I was specifically remembering the Silver Bullet one lol I had the Solaire one too
You know I used to think these cars are rare but when I went to my local thrift store I have seen cars from the beginning sell in a bag 5 for $3.99. I have seen most of these cars and I don’t consider it rare.
Most likely what you are finding at your thrift store are NON-MINT common cars. Nowhere in this video did I declare ALL cars from the 1980's to be rare, and I also make quite clear that my valuation is for mint examples. I highly doubt the 3.99 bag of cars are anything but heavily play-worn and hence "not rare".
Nope most in good condition to near mint. I have found around 100 60s to 70s matchbox & hot wheels cars in great condition within the last 6 years. This thrift store is not like Goodwill. I’m just saying for loose cars I would never pay anything close to what ebayers and conventions charge. Go find some thrift stores in your local area and you’ll find more than what u regularly paid for.
wtffor is an expert on this with a lot of time and knowledge invested in this hobby, and he does a lot of buying, so he knows the values pretty well. He is right in saying that they are likely common playworn cars. The cars that he said were rare and the prices he stated are for dead mint condition cars. I agree with this because something tossed in a bag and banging around with other cars in a big box of bagged cars is not going to be anywhere near mint. Just because you find them in a thrift store one day doesn't mean that everyone across the country will do the same and can find the same specific cars. As an example, I have not found any sort of diecast cars in my thrift stores here for 6 years, and I go every other week. They do not put out 25 cent bins to sell because kids play with toys in the aisles and scatter them. When I do see some hot wheels in a thrift store, they are all from at least 5-7 years ago, nothing 40 years old. eBay and collector conventions charge those prices for a reason, as they do a lot of research and collectors know what they have and how rare it is. That's why you will often see bidding wars start over a rare car and it can get into the $100+ range.
I found a loose Jeep CJ Blackwall at the LA convention last week for $3. I also found a 3 hi-rakers (none are from 86) and a Path Beater. In total I bought 11 loose cars for $30. I forgot the room number and was not able to go back for more. See the 10:35 mark here ruclips.net/video/fc_anQmrmx4/видео.html
I forgot all about these flip and crash hot wheels! Had them as a kid. Brings back wonderful memories.
I love these year-by-year vids so much. You made my week!
Great to hear, and thanks for commenting! See you next week!
love your videos. They have got me interested again. I had many of the 1986 hot wheels. I was also fortunate to find the M2 1959 Cadillac at the local Wallymart .
I had that purple speed demon back when I was four. Can't believe I remembered that.
The copyright year printed on the back of the package is usually correct. So, a 1986 copyright year means that the car is from 1986 or early 1987. 😃
Not in the case of Hot Wheels...
Thanks for making these videos, they really do pay off long-term when I get one of the cars and need to hear the info about them.
Another amazing yearly review!!! These are the videos I look forward to the most. I had been wanting to get into vintage Hot Wheels for awhile but had no idea where to start. Your collection and insight into all the models and variations are what got me started and help keep me going!!!

Great upload, dude. Have super sweet memories of the Crack-Ups cars, but man, eBay vendors price them way too high. So cool to see them here instead 👍

Love your videos, sir! Totally got me into Hot Wheels and making ASMR vids of my own about them
Im looking at a set of body swappers in the package and theyre facing the other way. I wonder if they came like that or if they have been opened?
Hmmm... a rare set to find regardless! I'm not sure if they were packaged in reverse at times or not, but if they are mint then it's still a great find! I saw one on ebay just recently with an asking price of $399 USD..... I don't see these sets come up very often at all

Isn't the launcher for the TT3000 messed up? I have a good one if you are interested, my TT3000 got integrated into another track and I don't need it.
I believe it is messed up, not sure why though. I would be very interested in your extra launcher, could you please e-mail me from my RUclips home page? Thank you!
Hey man, what’s the difference of the 31 doozie here and the one seen in like 1983?
Is the Auto World box still on it's way?
Yes it is! Very close! Surely it will make next week's Haul Video on Thursday!

I got original 68 and 69’s still in the original packages are you interested ? I only got four orfive but they are in the original package
I have that crack-ups red truck mint but with missing white canopy do u know where I can get a repo one?
Try eBay, some sellers on there have reproduction parts for Hot Wheels
I have a 10 pack 90's revealers, how much are those worth, N could u do a video on that?
Those 10 packs are pretty common surprisingly, they were from a mail-away promo in 1992. I have one that I bought years ago, cars mint in the baggies and original box.... I paid around $25 for it. I would expect they are worth between $25 and $35 today in such condition.

Do you know were I can get the cases you put your cars in South Africa??
I would recommend buying online perhaps...?
was there another company making toy cars in the 1980's that made very heavy well made metal cars? I remember having a couple cars that were just on another level as far as quality/weight/balance, although they could have been just a special edition or something
Majorette were heavy all metal cars in the 80s, perhaps those?
@@wtffor I just found what some of them were. it was the Ultra Hots line, I was specifically remembering the Silver Bullet one lol I had the Solaire one too
The body swapper interior plastic is not interchangeable. If you try you will damage them.
