Many of the rituals are similar to what we have in Tamil Iyer community .Very surprised, thank you .

Yes may be jain saadhu because jab aaj ke jamaane me shree pramaan sagar ji jese haajir jawaab muni he toh 2000 saal pahle kese kese rahe hoge
No you and even this video is wrong. Its neither Jain muni nor the " Naga sadhus" which came much later in medieval age . Alexander encountered the dandi sanyansis or as the Greeks called them damdamis ... Jain ascetic do not carry the Sanayas stick or staff , it is only in the tradition of Vedic dharma that sanyasis are allowed to carry the staff , thr ek dandis and tri dandis are still present in India...The sanyasis whom Alexander encountered may have been real advanced sanyasis or known as Turiyatitas who roams in a digambar manner without any attachment to material world

Do you think Greek would tell stories of their defeat on returning to homes and why Sikander had to return from the bank of the Jhelum after victory over Puru. Moreover why another King the great Augutus had to drop his idea to conquer India when he was told the he should finish the job which his ancestor sikander could not.
He was not a naga sadhu he is digambar jain muni called kalyanmuni
As always super good
He was not a Naga sadhu, he was a digamber jain muni named Kalyan (colonus in Greek)
but modern scholarship rejects this notion as Jain ascetics are forbidden from using fire and intentional self-harm due to their convictions about Sallekhana. Moreover, there is no evidence of Jain occupation in Taxila at the time of Alexander.
While in India, Alexander the Great encountered the Gymnosophists or
“naked sages”. Who were they?
• According to various chroniclers (Megasthenes, Plutarch, Strabo, and
others), the Gymnosophists included both Brahmins and Shramanas
• However, the Greek descriptions of the Gymnosophists are more
reminiscent of Digambar Jain monks:
- Vegetarian, naked, meditative, striving for moral perfection,
philosophers, not involved in ritual sacrifices, indifferent to pleasure
and pain, and allowing themselves to die alone in the forest
- They could not have been Buddhist monks as Buddhist monks never go
naked and were generally not vegetarian during this period
- Brahmins also do not go naked nor practice the slow death cycle described

Sir ji ap ki fan 😊
Excellent. What is the Greek pronunciation of Sadhu / Chanakya / Gupta/ Naga Sadhu / Naked or Nanga / Ganga ?
Incredible:)
At that time i think there were no "Fakirs" in Indian subcontinent or rather whole world. India had "sadhus", "sants", rishi, muni, tapaswis ..... Fakir and Sadhus are very different even in literal translation of Arabic.

Ek baat samjh nahi aati.... How people communicate those days so easily....i mean how an Indian sandhu and unani communicated , not only communicated but argued since they didn't know each other's languages.... In today's time if i get to interact with a chinese or japani in their languages, everything will be passed above my head...it will be difficult to understand their language and forget about the argument. .... Please make a video on this topic

Not a Naga Sadhus, but Digambar Jain Monks (Gymnosophites) at that time there were no Naga Sadhus as such. ❤🇮🇳❤
Read rigveda 10:136 ascetics are mentioned by the name Keshin. The description is exactly the same as Naga sadhus live today. Long hairs, wandering, drinking poison as rudra etc.
@@tamarix25 Might be, but we cannot rely on a weak evidence like Rig Veda, whose first ever manuscript was found in 11th CE. There's huge possibility of adulteration, discrepancy, exaggeration & plagiarism in it.
