- 12 of 12 - Good fly on the wall type doco by Kevin Allen of an England fan's eye view of the 1990 FIFA World Cup Finals in Italy ... traveling only with his camcorder for the BBC series Video Diaries, in an episode entitled 'On The March With Bobby's Army', this captures what it was like to follow England abroad during a period when English clubs were still banned from Europe and with a reputation for hooliganism. First aired on BBC 2 in 1991.
The uploader should be congratulated, this is a great example of the magic of You Tube - at it's best.
Take a doc you haven't seen since at least 1991 but still remember parts of, remembered how even as a non football fan, you enjoyed it.
And now a nostalgic, fascinating and enjoyable chance to see it again.

Very epic documentary for Italia 90. Congratulation! The bitter end for England is exactly the same that we felt as italians, lost the semifinal 4-5 after penalties.. It's the biggest regret in sport and not only in sport for me, my first world cup, played in Italy,, so many emotions and happiness until semifinal but a terrible ending..ciao!

That west Germany game still hurts...i was 8 watching in a bar in Spain with my dad but i can still feel the absolute numbness of defeat...that game traumatized English fans for the next 30 years 🤣...i would die a happy man if i could just see England lift that beautiful trophy 🙏🙏🙏
What about the third place match vs. Italy in Bari 3 days after the Germany match? I guess nobody cared at that point...
