When your country is 80% flatlands and you're practically situated in the middle of Europe, just between major and regional powers... you're kinda used to getting fu**ed up. It's thanks to lots of perseverance and luck that we're still alive and speaking polish 😅
That’s what I was thinking 😂 when I first learned about the First World War and the Second World War I felt so bad
And NATO had a not very secret plan to defeat it. It was based on Manstein's "elastic defence". This means beating a fighting retreat in front of the Soviets till they are exhausted, their supplies low and their supply lines over extended, then hitting them hard with a concentrated armoured counterattack across their lines of retreat.

So, you are saying that they being total delusional about their capabilities is not a recent thing?
You forgot to mention why the USSR thought this strategy would work - in 1979, they had an advantage in tactical nuclear weapons with the SS-20. It wasn't until early 1983 that the advantage swung back to the West with the deployment of the Pershing IRBM and ground launched cruise missiles capabe of nuclear strikes as far as Moscow.
The problem with the Soviet plan was that Canada, the UK, and the USA all had significant contingents of troops and aircraft in West Germany. If any of those bases were nuked, it would guarantee a counter strike.
Pretty sure the soviets just lied about the numbers so the us wouldn’t attack them because they thought they had had an advantage
@@twinedgalaxy3085 It wasn't a numbers game, the SS-20 was more advanced and more accurate than the 1960s era tactical nukes the Soviet Union had in theatre, and their capabilities gave the USSR a viable first strike option they hadn't had before in Europe.

You can also recall the terrorist attack in Kramatorsk, when a rocket flew into people waiting for a humanitarian corridor, the Ukrainians immediately accused the Russians, although later it turned out that the rocket was Ukrainian and was listed in her service. It is very convenient that everyone immediately forgot about this terrorist attack. @@swilto_8749 The plan was to only use the 7 days to the Rhine plan after NATO would have nuked Poland.
@@swilto_8749 It's not, the video purposefully omits and misrepresents information, as is typical about most videos of this type. From wikipedia:
"The scenario for the war was NATO launching a nuclear attack on Polish cities in the Vistula river valley area in a first-strike scenario, as well as Czech cities, which would prevent Soviet bloc commanders from sending reinforcements to East Germany to forestall a possible NATO invasion of that country.[2][4][3] A Soviet nuclear counter-strike would be launched against West Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Denmark.[2][3] "

The fact that they never enacted the plan tells us enough about what the USSR leaders thought of the feasibility.
Yeah, like NATO wouldnt respond to nuking their member states by nuking russia in equal measures, or even more likely, try to destroy all russian nuclear weapons with whatever means necessary, and then go for a invasion of Russia itself. Very likely. Like they almost engaged them directly in Ukraine that they are barely allied with, imagine what happens if anything happens in a member state like Poland, a nuke strike? 5:04 They wanted to invade France through Belgium. Where have I see this before? 🤔

France would have austerlizt Russia ;)
Nah they would Moscow campaign out of it.
@Nickdas es faulse
@Nick schlieffen plan
"and whatever remained of the Poles". Even in theoretical plans they get the rough role. Not cool to spawn between Russia and Germany...
I actually thought for a second that he means North and South poles. Invading that in 2 weeks would have been a feat
kRIOren1 fighting a two pole war is madness
Hmm looks like it isn't secret anymore ;)
Oh yeah, and Russia was going to take all of Ukraine in 3 days. 🤣
Russia is much weaker than they act.
USSR: Can't get nuked if your enemy doesn't have any
*Enemy's allies nukes USSR*
USSR: *Surprised Pikachu*
Hiroshima Nagasaki your Pickachu
*Maybe I'll tell you a secret, but Stalin already knew long ago about USA Nukes, thx for Soviet Spies :)*
@@theneverwhere6076 yeah thats not the point... the US knew that the soviets knew, the US had known for 15 years by the time the secret plan was thought up... Ya boomer
How would they nuke USSR if they even don't have any chance to deliver their bombs? For example, at those time USSR already had C-100 and C-200 which was capable to destroy even nuclear missles. In the area where u don't have air support u can't nuke anyone. Thanks to Sukhoi 27, MiG-31 and many and many land anti-air forces like Shilka, C-70, etc.
Discere Multum Are you serious? You think you can shoot down ballistic missiles with a MiG? Besides anti-missile defenses are unreliable. It’s better not to test them against real missiles, one might come through.
That plan aged well
Bump that 7 days to 7 decades with help from foreign aid
And God
