We have been keeping pigs for a while now on the homestead. What I love about them is that you can basically feed them anything, they will gobble it up. We just throw stuff into the diy pig feeder that the hubby built a couple of months ago. I found this homemade pig feed recipe, that I would like to share with you.

#Pig farming is an integral part of the household livelihoods system in Meghalaya however the domestic production is inadequate to meet the demand for #pork. Piggery Farming or hog #farming is the raising and breeding of domestic pigs as #livestock it’s very profitable in a state like Meghalaya which consumes more pork, and it’s a branch of animal husbandry. Pigs are amenable to many different styles of farming: Intensive commercial units, commercial free range enterprises, or extensive farming. But as I have an experience in Meghalaya village ( #Khasi) Commercial pig farming is beneficial due to the fact that pigs are prolific breeders can deliver 10 to 14 piglets in a single birth. #Pig meat (pork) has an excellent demand since this red meat is a good source of protein and tasty as well.
