The Spark - Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 7 Soundtrack

- No copyright infringement intended. Music by Robert Duncan for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Ripped by me.
Taken from 7x02 "Beneath You," and plays during the final scene in the church between Spike and Buffy when he tells her that he got his soul back for her. I think this is the introduction of Robert Duncan's Buffy and Spike theme!
This track was ripped by me. I was so excited to be able to because this is one of the best parts of the soundtrack for the whole show! Yes, the HD episodes do have some issues, so that's why the audio isn't the best that I've been able to get for other shows, but this is the best I have now. I'm not sure how many more tracks I'll rip and upload from Buffy, but feel free to request! (I can't promise I'll get to everything, though, just because I'm not sure how many more episodes I'll have.)
A few weeks ago, I found out about the four-disk release from FEBRUARY, and I was so excited to listen to it. What a gift! - Кино
This is still by far the most hauntingly beautiful score in the whole Buffy series, and of course I always tear up the whole season is a weep fest for Spike every damn time.
"😢And she shall look on him with forgiveness... And everyone will forgive and love... And he will be loved!
... So, everything's ok now, right?
..... 😭😫😔Can we rest now? Buffy?
... *Can we rest?* "
Man, this scene was damn hearbreaking. I can't help but feel that James Marsters performance came from how guilty and uncomfortable he felt for that scene in season 6 that Joss directed where Spike assaulted Buffy, and this was kinda James asking forgiveness from Sarah for it too while acting and sayin these lines.
Robert Duncan's Spike/Buffy theme introduced for season 7 is really a work of art. You hear it pop up a number of times throughout the season, and of course during Buffy and Spike's final interaction in Chosen.
I completely agree; it is amazing. Have you heard its few appearances on the 4-disc CD released about a year ago?
Unfortunately I don't have any full original score CDs. I own the Buffy soundtrack, the Radio Sunnydale soundtrack, and the OMWF soundtrack that does include the suites from Hush and Restless. So the only Robert Duncan track I have on CD is the one on Radio Sunnydale, which is the final fight track that incorporates the new Buffy/Spike theme.
jmwild1 darn, you weren’t able to get it? There are two tracks that ONLY have their theme in it-they’re both beautiful
@Dylan Skie
Damn! That's impossible to find in Lossless.
@@avada0 Did you end up finding it?
“Can we rest now?...Buffy...
Can we rest?”
*shivers & then cries*
If I had a nickel for every amazing scene of a tv show that is set in a church and centered around a character named spike that I've watched, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but its wierd it happened twice.
haha amazing
This is so haunting & beautiful.
This is great, thank you!
One I've always wanted to have is the whole ending to "New Moon Rising" (4x19), from the Willow/Oz van scene to the end with Tara, the score is really beautiful.
NicoAngelus you’re welcome! And come to think of it, I think I actually do remember the music from that scene standing out. I’ll look at it!
Here it is! ruclips.net/video/KahiOVwlo6A/видео.html
Thank you for uploading, it's a beautiful piece. I find myself liking this more than the heroic version of their theme in Chosen - more quiet and haunting, I suppose. I also really like the section of music in Buffy's dream during Anne, and I would love to be able to hear it without their voices, if you'd be so kind in uploading it?
I do too--this track is one of the best in the show. It's so haunting and quiet, yes. And I can look for the episode you're talking about to see if I can get the music from it!
This is good. Please do more Buffy rips. There’s so many more.
Gingy The Cat I hope to do more soon-maybe the coronavirus will give me some free time!
These are so good! Can’t believe I just found your channel, I would love to see more Buffy stuff!
Haley Rich thanks Haley! I’ve been meaning to post more but I’ve gotten busy with work lately unfortunately. I think I’ll post more soon though!
Dylan Skie I look forward to it!
Awesome rip, thank you so much! I would love to hear the music from “Conversations With Dead People“ (7x07), where Willow talks to Tara/Cassie in the library. Or “Smashed“ (6x09) when Buffy and Spike tear down that building in the end, there is no clear audio to find of that on youtube :/
phoenix907 you’re welcome! I’ll have to look at that music from 707, but I’ve already ripped the other one you mentioned and was planning on uploading it next :) yeah a lot of the versions on RUclips of that aren’t as good as they could be!
I just uploaded the music from that scene in 609!
This sounds like Jeremy Soule's Elder Scrolls music, so beautiful.
I’ll have to listen to that! I looked up the album and it sounded pretty good from the few seconds I heard
Yes! It’s very medieval and atmospheric.
It seems like they had a few musical themes specific to them. Besides this and the "Spike and Buffy" track from the album there's one quite often repeated, that for example plays while Buffy talks with a tied-to-the-chair Spike about him getting his soul back. Starting when he says "Saw a man about a girl"
avada I’ll check that out! Episode 709, right? The theme in this track and “Spike and Buffy” is actually the same-they’re just played on completely different instruments.
@Dylan Skie
Yes.
Really? I can't say I can make the connection. I particularly can't see the analogue of the piano notes.
(Though I definitely don't have a keen hearing for music.) If you're right, it's a fair bit darker sounding variant in my opinion.
avada yup! When I’m home, I’ll look for two good spots in both tracks where the theme really stands out. But you’re right that the theme in this track is much darker. I’ll also look for the other theme you mentioned.
@@avada0 Compare 0:22 - 0:35 in this video to 0:48 - 1:03 in "Spike and Buffy" (from the album). Obviously they're quite a few octaves apart, but hopefully you'll be able to hear them both. And it seems like the theme from that scene in 709 is a secondary theme of some sort for them. Some of the chord progressions sound similar to the ones in Spike and Buffy, and that low flute-like instrument is in both of them. It's pretty cool!
@Dylan Skie
I see.(But actually I was thinking about the music from 7x09 rather than this video's )
I didn't make the connection here, and it is in fact darker, so it is still rather true what we were talking about even though we were thinking about different music. :)
Hi Dylan. Thank you so much for uploading. I’m trying to get my hands on the score played at the end of episode 12 of season 7 when Xander tells Dawn she is extraordinary. Any help would be appreciated. Happy new year to you from Ireland 🇮🇪
Hi Chris, happy new year from the US! I just ripped that track from the episode. It's so quiet and moving--thanks for suggesting I upload it. I'll post it tomorrow morning! :)
Dylan Skie aww that’s amazing. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I look forward to hearing it. It’s such a beautiful piece from a moving scene that shows Buffy had a really mature layer of drama as a show beneath all the action. I know I’m being cheeky asking as you are so kind to upload that track...one more that I could never get that’s also beautiful if you could check out is the score played at the end of episode 1 from season 3 when Joyce opens the door and Buffy comes home. You have made my day. I owe u ⭐️
Chris Greene you’re very welcome-I just uploaded it! And I agree with you that Buffy had a pretty mature layer of drama, especially in seasons 6 and 7. There were always jokes and stuff, but there was such truth in so much the show talked about.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the versions of seasons 1, 2, or 3 for me to rip music from them, so I can’t do your request :( I’m really sorry, but I’m going to keep looking!!
Please please please do the Spike speech score from ‘Touched’ 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Oh my gosh--I'm just listening to it now and can't believe I hadn't noticed it before--I'll be uploading it shortly!!! :) It's beautiful!
Dylan Skie thank you so much! I can’t wait to hear it! It’s so beautiful and deep. You’re really the best!
@@thomasl.chilton3449 You're very welcome! Thanks for pointing it out haha. I uploaded it here: ruclips.net/video/94hQnUa7qtA/видео.html
Thanks for sharing
Any idea how to get a higher quality version ?
I don’t know, I’m sorry :( maybe contact Robert Duncan!
This is haunting. What episode is it from?
Becky Murphy this is from “Beneath You,” season 7, episode 2.
@@DylanSkie Thank you. My "Instrumental Buffy" playlist is over 6 hours now. I wish there was more from the first season, as well as the sixth.
Becky Murphy Me too. Season 6 had some beautiful moments. Have you purchased the 4-disc box set from La La Land?
