While cycling the tank for the 1st time, is activated carbon required in the filter? My sump filter has acyivated carbon, should i remove it? (non planted tank)

Yes there is, use about a litre of any old aquarium water in the new aquarium and leave it to cycle for 2 weeks and then test the water for ammonia and add fish
Nice video sir, and very informative,i wish i get this video before a month ago so i can cycle my new tank properly.i keep my tank cycling for a week but didn't use any good bacteria into it or 50% of water change during the period.that why my german blue ram was died.and other fishs are also sick what to do now? Any suggestions of yours for that kind of situation this will help to do better for the fish and hobbies 😊😊

Nice information Mayur ji. Im planning to upgrade my non planted aquarium after few months as my goldfishes are getting bigger.. So i have a question related to cycling.. What if I put a sponge filter in my old aquarium now and then after i bought the new aquarium in 2-3 months i just shift the sponge? will it start the cycle early ? and one more question.. If i just put the sponge in aquarium without air pump. will the bacteria grow in it or not after few months?
You don't have to worry so much, wash the new tank I with salt water and again with fresh water so there is no salt residue,
Then use the water and filter form your old tank, as it is already cycled

The sponge filter will colonise the bacteria, so you could use a good bacteria,

Is it necessary to have bio media in filter , i have an internal filter with sponges and a top filter consisting of sponges
Sponge is good, bio media allows more bacteria growth and that means better and cleaner aquarium

Hi sir . I do cycling put super 4 and daily at night put green bacter plus and for 1 week I chang 50% water .when I tested water after 1 week NO2 IS O PPM .NO3 O PPM BUT AMONIA IS HIGHLY around 50 ppm.and add same algae fishies. What are u advancing?
Wait for another 2 weeks before you add fish, and continue the water changes

Hello Mayur Sir, I have got ADA Aqua Gravel. Can I add it into an already setup aquarium with Neon Tetra and Guppies in it? Do new gravel have risk of emitting Ammonia or any other harmful chemicals?
ADA Aquagravel is neutral, it does not contain any nutrients so there is not issue

Sir as you said we can use super 4 in bare bottom tanks as well but after putting super 4 the brown bacter 100 (dirt/mud) is settled at the bottom of the tank. Should we siphon that and remove it after leaving it for a week?

It is half bare bottom and in half there is a small Anubias plant in a driftwood with few stones. No fish now. Please suggest.
Add everything like you mentioned, cycle the tank for 3 - 4 days and then add the fish, also what will be better is to also use Sunken Garden Water Conditioner, Buy here aquariumproductsindia.in/

Sir ,cycling my 80 litre tank past 3 weeks .Amonia and Nitrite are 0- .25 ppm but Nitrate is 80-160.It just has soil and driftwood as of now. Little hesitant to put plants and fish due to high Nitrate issues. Pl advice.
