How well do you know your Southern African birds calls? Find out by playing along with my bird call challenge over the next ten days! Each day I will post a video with 15 bird calls - 5 easy, 5 moderate and 5 difficult. The challenge is to not only see how many you get right in each video, but also what your grand total is out of 150 at the end of the 10 challenges.

I was a guide at Londoz & Phinda so embarrassingly it was 11, 11, 10! Admit I'm rusty now, having lived away from the 'bush' for past 10 years, thanks I needed the practice :-)

11/15 Hit a blank on #7; was thrown by 10 & 13 and then 15 I initially wrote Marsh Sandpiper down but then decided to go with Black-winged Stilt! Thanks for the challenge! 39/45 so far.

Joh, blanked out with the marsh and thought kurrichane was a flufftail 😖 so 13/15 today grand total 40/45

12/15 today. The ones I missed either never call when I see them, such as Wattled Starling, or don't occur in my area. White-throated Robin-Chat I missed because we don't have them here. Saw my last one just over 9 years ago! The last one I missed was Marsh Sandpiper, although I knew it was a wader of sorts. Total so far 40/45.

We got 12/15. Never heard or seen marsh sandpiper, speckled mousebird and violent backed starling caught us. Total so far 33/45
