Haven't watched mainstream outdoor tv since I came across your videos....the prayer and comraderie...portraying the hunt as it really happened....clean language for children....no high pressure sales pitches of gear....you guys rock...
These Montana episodes make me home sick. You guys are the only Elk hunters I have ever heard of that didn't want snow. Snow pro tip. Sound is magnified but only in your ears. It is deafening quiet. But thats because sound doesn't carry in it. I have a snow Ghillie suit that I carry with me. Because your regular camo stands out like a sore thumb. You can't really call them in when it's snowing but you can sure sneak up on them. Thanks for the series. I have been marathon watching it. You guys are awesome keep up the good work. I have learned alot about calling and shot set up from you guys. I have been solo hunting for so long now. I have learned how to do it by myself. The team work is awesome reminds me of my childhood.
There's a lot of guys I think that would say screw it...it's too cold, I'm tired and just want to go home! My hat is definitely off to you guys for hanging in there through this cold snowy weather. I grew up in Northern Minnesota so I know what cold is. Fishing walleyes out on Red Lake in sub-zero temperatures. Getting frost bite around the wrists. Thanks for sharing this with us...and having a sense of humor too! I have to think without the humor things could get tough. You guys are awesome. Haven't missed an episode!!
So you have a stove, that can produce heat, and your wearing frozen boots? Cold, lite a fire! Hungry, eat! Frozen bow, sit in warm tent and thaw it out while you eat! Really enjoying the series. Thanks guys!
My wife actually sat down for the first time to watch with me last night. You guys had her rolling laughing then the elk showed up, it was like a kid in a candy store! Please give Nicole a shout out and tell her how thankful I'm am to be her husband, hunting partner and that I'm a blessed man, Merry Christmas babe!
Almost to THE CRESHENDO OF SUCH A MAGNIFICENT PROJECT AND SERIES. ME AND MY BROTHER SHANE OAKLEY HAVE WATCHED EVERY EPPISODE😉🌟🌟🌟YOU GUYS ROCK. WE DONT KNOW WHAT WE ARE GONNA DO WHEN IT ENDS. FROM BRETT OAKLEY IN ADELAIDE SOUTH AUSTRALIA
I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet, but if you put your boots in your sleeping bag with you while you sleep, this keeps them from freezing. You can do this with you outer gear. I used this method a few times while deployed. Love the Land of the Free series.
Loved this episode and have watched the end a few times over. Joe is in fact a life long friend and great guy. I'm proud to call him my fiancé and hunting partner. Can't wait to meet ya'll in the near future and we are looking forward to Hoodoo.
Gonna be a sad sad day when this over fellas. Thank you so much for letting all of us be s pay off this. This has been an amazing journey with you guys.
let me echo what so many have previously stated.... love this. Getting a kick out of texting my buddies during the episodes where we are belly laughing at the fact that we have made many similar mistakes. Thanks for not setting the bar to high... HA! Hopefully you show how you set up that sawtooth and the stove. Not much of a call for that sort of gear in the wilds of west central IL. Thanks again!
This has to be the most " Extreme Bowhunting " video ever made !! I've never seen anything that even comes close to these conditions , you guys are either extremely dedicated ? or just plain Loco ? !! I can't tell which / hope it pays off for you all though ;-)
I had same thing happen in NM in October this year.Started out in shorts and t-shirt and blizzard came in and dropped 2 ft of snow .Everybody left but me.I didn't know it was coming .Killed a 7 x 7 bull at noon that day .Took me 3 days to pack it out by myself :)
I've been catching up watching your channel I'm bummed I miss your meet an greet in Kelso!! My hometown and it was on my birthday. Any chance you guys will be up this way again? Great channel and thank you for all the great information and laughs
Hunting public land is very tough in Montana! Been doing it for 32 years. As the years go by it gets harder and harder. I find the less calling the better. Elk are smart and they get soooo much pressure in MT. A lot of times you call too much they instantly shut up and will leave the area. Play the wind.. get the shooter within 100-150 yards and keep that caller back another 80 yards. And cow call.
Infantry trick is sleep with your upper body up hill slightly and always put your boots under your legs and lay on your back. And a dirty little secret is pull your long johns down over your feet with a boot warmer and sleep naked. Trent’s is a better heart for sure. 🖤
Come on boys, you're born and raised outdoors, right?! This snow storm shouldn't be a problem. I shot my 1st bull in weather just like that, in Wyoming. 5 point. Absolutely love your show.
Man y’all need to clean that lens, I’m finding that I’m concentrating on the black dot more than the darn hunting. Wanting to see who’s going to have this mole on their face next.
2017 Archery Elk in Montana was not typical. I give credit for sticking it out. I hunted a few days and bailed. That type of weather is not Archery Elk hunting friendly. Be sure to come back on a better weather year in the future.
Wish I could be there guys but got to work so close to home to dam are you guys going to be at the Portland expo center this year at the sportsman show.?
Pretty good video. Not overly commercial and it was great to not have annoying music. The sound of the wind and crunching of snow was enough. Nicely done. And not a lot of egoistic "Ah'm Mr. Hunter" kind of stuff. You could have called it "Numnuts Go Hunting". Kidding. A little. It came across as a real hunt by people with real skills and capabilities. So yeah. Nice job. Beautiful country. The only real criticism I have is maybe a few too many portrait shots. But I guess that's where the human interest appeal comes in. I'd personally be content to look at the landscape, tracks, etc. But, man, when you guys get old this is going to make your day when you're in a nursing home after your third coronary quadruple bi-pass.
There for a few minutes when you guys were trudging over the mountain in that blizzard I thought, are these guys sure they're still in Montana or did they cross over into Antarctica.
Hey so what kind of software do you use for editing your videos and how did you make your channel backround? i want to start my own channel and i want to figure out how to do all that stuff but i cant quite figure it out
Hello born and raised. Just want to say I love watching your videos of your hunts. But I was curious on your hunting gear for this Cold weather your in. I am wondering are you guys wearing the First Lite Sanctuary jacket or the woodsbury jacket. I just picked up the sanctuary bibs I love them but I over heat really quick out to the treestand. But sitting in the treestand I and nice and toasty. I want to get the matching sanctuary jacket but I am afraid of overheating again and sweating too much and getting cold before I can warm up again. I am a cancer survivor and chemotherapy messed my body up and I get cold super easy. Sometimes when I layer up I feel alright but sometimes it's not enough I. The late season here in 10° to -10° . I didn't know if I got the woodsbury jacket and layer up it wood be plenty or just go with the sanctuary jacket and keep it unzipped some until i stop and sit.Anyone else has some feedback that would be great.
They are Kifaru. Great gear, everything is American made except the titanium for the barrel of the stove. At kifaru.net you can see all their gear. Stoves are listed under shelters.
Been awesome watching the Land of the Free. Just got all caught up on the last two episode been in and out of hospital at UCSF. Came home and found my order of land of the free gear in my mailbox. Awesome stuff, but when your label maker went on the fritz and Alexa was giving you issues with the volume you must have mispacked a few things in my bag.
Haven't watched mainstream outdoor tv since I came across your videos....the prayer and comraderie...portraying the hunt as it really happened....clean language for children....no high pressure sales pitches of gear....you guys rock...
Do you plan any spring hunts or fishing vids to get us through our addiction? Merry Christmas to you and your families....
That black dot is killing me lol
I believe it's been there the last few day's haha. I started to wonder if I was the only one noticing it....
I thought it was my phone lol
Yeah, I was watching last night and kept rubbing my finger across the screen of my tablet lol
I wiped my TV off.
Scratching my screen for 10 minutes.

Hats off to you guys. You are hanging in there battling the good ol Montana weather most guys would have packed it up.
So you have a stove, that can produce heat, and your wearing frozen boots? Cold, lite a fire! Hungry, eat! Frozen bow, sit in warm tent and thaw it out while you eat! Really enjoying the series. Thanks guys!
I have digested about 14 episodes in the last 2 days...you guys rock! So cool you got to hunt with the man...the legend...Mr Phelps!
So excited for Kelso show. Sounds like it keeps getting better with everybody possibly showing up. Can’t wait. Keep up the excellent work

This is the best series ever! I am so proud that you guys are from Oregon!

I love it thanks for sharing

How cold at night? Good thing for those awesome break down stoves. You guys are the Bionic Bowhunters! Dang!
Gonna be a sad sad day when this over fellas. Thank you so much for letting all of us be s pay off this. This has been an amazing journey with you guys.
Loving the Land of the Free Project!
Routine deer hunting conditions here in BC lol. Great video once again - but dang it, that art by Casey is crazy good!
Who else thought that black dot was an elk when they first bugled? lol
me
Lol! I saw it too
Me too
Me 2, its been there for 3 episodes lol
The lens pimple turned into an eyelash. Pretty to to keep lens clean in cold snowy conditions.
Still lovin the show and your keeping us on the edge of our seats
22:30. Finally! After 2 states we get to say goodbye to the black dot.
let me echo what so many have previously stated.... love this. The elk probably “heard” you guys laughing and coming!!
My family will see you there ! Can’t wait to meet you guys.
That basin must of had over 100 elk. Holy cow!

Looked brutal. Tough hunting day
what a sweet drawing! I say Trents heart was better. but wow it looks like a bitter cold day to be elk hunting. way to go guys. keep up the good work!
Have you tried "Hand Warmers" to help keep the batteries warm?
Another great video guys keep em coming the bully rut bow hunter
That's an awesome drawing and would be amazing to get some done and sell them on the website...
Casey makes everything better. 👍
My T Shirts Package had whiskers stuck to it, thanks guys for getting those out.
Jason, your pee heart was pretty good... but I believe you colored outside the lines. LOL My vote for the pee heart goes to Trent.
Awesome job guys! Sad the series is close to over. Any hints on how you are going to follow this up next year?
That damm spot on the lens is killing me!!
Wish I could make it to the meeting and greet. I am in North Carolina and that's about the same distance to China. Hope to meet you guys someday
I've been catching up watching your channel I'm bummed I miss your meet an greet in Kelso!! My hometown and it was on my birthday. Any chance you guys will be up this way again? Great channel and thank you for all the great information and laughs
Love the Crocs, Steve.
I got my stuff! You’re forgiven for being late. Now get that big blurry bull off the lens. He’s everywhere.
Jason nailed it. ❤️
Another awesome show!! What am I going to do when this is over?
You guys are going to plan on something bigger and better for next season!!
Im with Jason if you call they don't answer they aint there!! LOL Way to gut it out!!

That looked brutal. Next year you might want to skip Montana and spend more time in Colorado for some elk payback.
Man y’all need to clean that lens, I’m finding that I’m concentrating on the black dot more than the darn hunting. Wanting to see who’s going to have this mole on their face next.
As always guys; great job
Oh and we all should pitch in for BRO to get them lens cleaning kits.
So is this weather typical for a September elk hunt? Man a live.
Biggest thing I hate, ice Col boots early in the morning. But the Crispis hold up.
Just curious why nick is packing 2 sets of trekking poles?? One for the tarp and the other if he leaves it set up ??
What brand hot tents were you guys using on this hunt? I'm looking for a good one for cold back country hunts. Thanks
What’s the stove setup? Seems pretty clutch in a situation like that.
2017 Archery Elk in Montana was not typical. I give credit for sticking it out. I hunted a few days and bailed. That type of weather is not Archery Elk hunting friendly. Be sure to come back on a better weather year in the future.

Good work guys u will get one down soon don't loose hope.

This is amazing to watch
Aaaaaaand, why does "Schmit" carry THREE (3) trekking poles? (2- tent, one for walking?)
Can we give the black dot a name?
already did. It's .............................SPOT.
If Trent drops the camera again maybe the lens will get another whipping ha ha 😳😂😁😉
There for a few minutes when you guys were trudging over the mountain in that blizzard I thought, are these guys sure they're still in Montana or did they cross over into Antarctica.
Both hearts looked like the hand wasnt very steady but that could be do to the cold
Hey so what kind of software do you use for editing your videos and how did you make your channel backround? i want to start my own channel and i want to figure out how to do all that stuff but i cant quite figure it out
You guys inspire. Any tips for newbies trying to start a channel when it comes to filming, talking, or editing. Lesson 1 don't crush the baby bird.
Love these guys ...

Hey maybe you guys can answer, what’s with the crocs hanging off everyone’s packs? The frozen crocs.
Ryan Sayer light to pack in and after a long hike/hunt there is nothing better than wearing something that isnt your boots
Kaitlin Hasler . Your exactly right!
Where can I buy that bad ass beanie nicks wearing
I think the black dot spooked them
When is the hoodoo event?
Beaded guy: I'm trying to make this kid friendly!
Also bearded guy: rate my pee!
I feel cold just watching this
Just one question??? Can we look forward to the black dot in future episodes ? ;)
Oh thank god it was reolaced with a beard hair :o
I was using the black dot as a sight
Tell us about the tents and stoves
They are Kifaru. Great gear, everything is American made except the titanium for the barrel of the stove. At kifaru.net you can see all their gear. Stoves are listed under shelters.
Yes please, I'd like to see the stove set up also. Looked like something i'd be interested in using myself!
You don't have a stove in that fantastic tent?
Crocs with Socks is gonna get it done in this one I think.
On the up-side, no need to worry about your meat spoiling on your long and slow pack-out! Can't wait to see one on the ground.
Neither heart had an arrow through it, so I call it a tie!
Gotta fix the black dot home slice
Hey trent something is on the Camera lol
That weather makes me want to buy my groceries!
Jonathon West Make sure to send them an email and they will make it right!!
Kindra F I already sent them one. Thanks
I can't believe you gave Casey shit for his haircut...lol
Where can we get the hoodies from the uncut? I need Trent and Treavor’s hoodies!
Vanniek 71 www.bornandraisedoutdoors.com is where they can be found
adwhite21 I’m an idiot, I didn’t see the options part where you could get the green one lol
Glad you were able to find what you were looking for. Merry Christmas! 🎄
