From the first time I heard this (and it was the first ever Asaf song I heard) it has been my favourite. Still is my absolute favourite, playing it daily. He does not care about sounding correct or sounding pretty, he wants to get his emotions out! In whatever way possible. Very powerful stuff. He didn't start with music until he was 26 years old, and is self taught. He's 44 years old now.

🎉Your Awesome🎉 You reacted to another Asaf Piece of Art. This man can literally Play any instrument, mix several music genres into 1 song and make it a "one-of-a-Kind" beautiful piece of art. There has never been and will never be another like him. Thank You ❤ Oh also a tip when looking into what you would react to next..... Asaf prefers to perform live, either on stage or recording live for videos like this one vs. sitting in a recording studio. So you will find different versions of the same song. His lyrics as he describes "will not be too specific because he wants his audience to experience his music "through your own prisms." look forward to more😊

This song has a very interesting story in the lyrics, not sure if you want it explained or not? Well, if you want to make your own interpretation of it, stop reading now.
    .
    .
    .
It's about a "zombie heart" (Asaf's own words). Lazarus in the bible is a man that is brought back to life. Rock of Lazarus is here the heart. An old, tired, stone cold heart being revived back to life by a miracle - but the heart itself didn't want to be reborn. The same old life again? The heart feels numb, more like a zombie now. The heart is dragging itself forward slowly, going on auto pilot.
First bit of the song is why the heart was dead (alone, depressed). The chorus is the heart being reborn ("Wake up! Beat with all the blood and dirt from the start"), with new dreams and goals...
The last part is the zombie state ... the heart doesn't want to chase dreams ("your dreams are big, your feet are small - the union perilous") it knows too well that it risks being disappointed and hurt anyway.
It doesn't want to do good or even be alive.. ("I'm not your ride.. I'm not your therapist....just blow my head, it would be courteous").
It repeats like an endless tiresome cycle ("cry till you dry, and you die, and they drag you again into light"). Like every time the heart is brought back to life, with new hopes and dreams, it has lost a piece of itself in a previous life. What's left in the end? Will it shatter completely and disappear?
I find this little story SO fascinating. It can be applied to many things and stages in our life. Asaf's lyrics are most of the time sad and bleak, but man... can they make you think in completely new ways.

Hello, I dont think you remember me but I have a Channel where I share Asaf Avidans Music in hopes of them finding new ears who haven't heared his music before. I am making some shorts of his songs and the reactions. I just wanted to make sure you are OK with me using parts of this reaction for some of my short. Thank you😊

@SlowMotionReactions you got it. 😊 Just started with them. Just to give you an idea what they will look like, I'm using Split screen shorts with every 4-5 shorts per reacted song per reactor. Posted the first 4 this morning and they are doing better than my typical shorts views. (my views have mostly been long form) your reaction to "rock of Lazarus" which will probably be ready within the next few days. I will send you a message just before posting 😊 thanks again.
