@@peterexner728 No, Handel’s oratorios were conceived in English and are best left to them in exactly the same way Wagner is best left to Germans. (And similarly, some things Italian and French are best left to Italians and French). That said, if you enjoy Handel’s English oratorios sung by Germans, or the operas of Wagner sung by English groups, that’s a personal choice and no business of mine. Samson of course is an oratorio, not an ‘opera’ as suggested by @warjacare.

The Vaclav Luks version of Messiah (RUclips name: "G. F. Handel: Messiah HWV 56 (fantastic performance)") is pretty awesome IMO.
