Your efforts are for real. You always put effort in discovering and showing new stuff rather than showing the regular malls and touristic stuff. This really helps in connecting with the city we love dearly❤️ better . Good luck and thank you for showing these amazing places.👍🏻
Great, you met an honest taxi biker....In Bangkok, they are so greedy that I gave up to take any motorcycle or TukTuk....too greedy... Ohhh, what a very nice building, so well done, with high level of finishing and detail. Even the ceilings are decorated. Money is there..... Thanks for showing, sure, I will visit there.
Wow, I was born and raised in Thonburi especially in this area and moved a little bit further away. Not so many tourists visit this part of bangkok that much, they usually visit phranakhon's side of bangkok. You really inspire me to explore my city much more, both sides of bangkok.I recommend ' Phutthamonthon' kind of buddhist park .It's famous in Thonburi and near the border to Nakhonprathom.
My wife and I have visited this temple complex a couple of times, once prior to the giant Buddha and once during its construction. Will have to get over there now that it is complete. Next time! The inside of the main temple is eerie and ethereal. Great day out exploring the temple, klongs, markets & neighborhoods. Great work...Safe travels!
I used to work in that area for 20 years ago. When I'm in distress, I like to go too the temple. Everything looks changed alot and make me feel missing my old friends 😔 ❤❤
that was a really helpful, interesting and insightful vide - thank you for sharing. I'm now a subscriber! we will be going back to Thailand in March and we'll visit this temple using your directions. chok dee!
You may not know that on the Wat Paknam's Jediya there is a golden image of the late Abbott of this temple which was casted in pure solid gold(95%) weigh 1 ton (1,000 kilogram) on the third or fourth floor. Make sure next visit stop by and pay homage to the late venerable Loung Por Wat Paknam and you will be amazed of how beautiful is the image of the Loung Por. Happy New year 2564 of the Buddhist era.
This big Buddha is also attracted me while I’m walking on the opposite side of canel. I also would like you to visit another temples around here. This area is one of the historical areas in Bangkok and lots of old temples around here approaching by walk.
21:40 You see the ancient Hor-tri (หอไตร) which is absolutely beautiful. If you turn right there that is Wat Apsornsawan วัดอัปสรสวรรค์, one of my favorite temple in Bangkok. Inside the Ubosot, there are 28 buddha images. Make sure to go before 3PM as the lady who takes care of the house will close the gate. Also behind there is around 100 years Wat Apsorn school. The architecture is stunning and very rare to see nowadays. It is really a secret hidden place even for locals.
Nice vdo. It's almost 20 years I've never been back to visit this temple. Now they have the big buddha statue already. I will be back to visit again when it's completely done.
Very nice to see your trip to Wat Paknam. So nice that you explore all that areas. And also very helpful your explanation how to travel on Google Maps and the names of the MRT and BTS stations. It gives me Good ideas for my next Sightseeing when i stay in Bangkok again. Thank you for this information. 🙏

16:14 Because of the culture, many places required people take off their shoes. For your shoes security, you may bring a plastic bag, put it in the bag and take them with you, like they do at Wat Pho.
either last year or the year before, my tour guide took me to that temple. it was a very interesting temple in the sense that the layout was not like the regular temples. and if you were to use their restroom, you'll have to take off your shoes and use the slippers provided by them to go into the restrooms. when I tried my usual google map tagging and facebook upload, I had a bit of difficulty finding it. That led me to believe that this temple doesn't have a lot of foreign tourist traffic..... Thank you for the update on this place.
@@globaltravelmate lol, it was not something I have ever experienced when I need to use a restroom any where. maybe some day when I am in bkk and you are ok with it, maybe I can tag along on a bike with you to see the city.

Omg thank you so much jeroen This video i've been looking for How to go to Wat Paknam by public transportation ,yeaaaaayyy Definitely in my itenerary💚💚 When i go back to bangkok And hopefully another video wat hopping ,like how to go to Marble Temple or wat that is rarely visited by tourists Thank you so much, and stay healthy
For regular Thai people theft is a srict no-no (I myself have forgotten my phone or keys on a scooter quite few times and everything has always been intact). It’s not like it never happens but mostly theft is a concern only at heavily touristy places or where you come acrosss other foreigners, especially fellow travellers.
At 21.50 you were entering another Wat called Wat Apsornsawan but you did not reach inside the temple, you rather turn left to cross the bridge to another Wat. The temple that you skipped is one of the oldest in this area. The temple was renovated by King Rama III. The Buddha images in the Church were stunning and cannot see these on a regular basis. In this Video, you visited three Wats by walking:1 Wat Paknam, 2 Wat Apsornsawan, and 3 (after crossing the bridge) Wat Khun Chan. Next time, come back to Wat Apsornsawan and explore more around Wutthagart Station of BTS, Wat Ratorot, Wat Nang Nong, Wat Nang, and many more. Most of the temples there was build more than three hundred years and renovated around two hundred years ago also. There are old communities located alongside the canal and the train's track.
Really impressive. I will visit for sure. I always ask myself who paid for these big temples? Is this paid by private people or by the government? I know normally they paid by normal people but this one costs for sure some million dollars.
I am a Thai so I will reply your question. All of these are donated by Buddism Thai people including the other temples. This temple is very well know about the meditation.
Oh ! By the way you may notice the steel bar around all the glass windows and of course beside that there are plenty of the latest state of the art security system monitoring 24/7 through out the whole Jediya inside and outside so enjoy the visit anyhow. Cheers.
This temple is very popular among Japanese people but not very well-known among non-Thai/Japanese people. Big Buddha will make this Wat to be more popular for sure. ^^
Nice video. I recommend to stop at BTS or MRT Bang Wa. From there you cross the river with the skywalk. You can enjoy the graffiti recently done and at the drop off area. From there you can walk or ride back along the khlong to the temple.
Namo Buddhaya 🙏 Love and blessings of Supreme Lord Buddha from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 ❤ ☸️
