The Wherryman’s way is a 35 mile long distance walking route from Norwich to Great Yarmouth that follows the River Yare. It is possibly the best way to see the Norfolk Broads by foot! I decided to walk the trail last week using the hiiker app.

The trail is named after the Wherry which is a large cargo carrying barge with elegant black sails that used to sail between Norwich and Great Yarmouth carrying their wares.
I really enjoyed walking this long distance path, it started in Norwich and we first went through Whitlingham country park, before heading towards Kirby Bedon. There were such beautiful views of the broads and the weather stayed lovely and dry as we followed the path along the River Yare to end the first section at Langley.
What a wonderful introduction to the Norfolk Broads, we were looking forward to seeing what the rest of the trail had in store! Here are the Norfolk Broads pubs en-route that we stopped in:
The waters edge - on the outskirts of Kirby Bedon. The Ferry House - on the outskirts of Surlingham and The New Inn - by Rockland Broad.
This is the sixth long distance hiking trail I have walked in 2021, I have also walked..

Love the drone footage nonetheless and looked awesome to me, in still saving for mine so unfortunately I cant help with any tips sorry.
I have a few multi day hikes planned for next year so hopefully everything will go to plan!! Bet it was nice chilling by the river 'yeahhhh' 😆👏🏻👏🏻

@@DrunkOnWanderlust No worries!! Yeah keep saving up then end up having to spend the money. Think new version is coming out 15th Nov so ill see what the comparisons are like, or if the Mini 2 goes a bit cheaper haha.

The Norfolk Broads have always interested me Kerry. This way sounds ideal for an insight into them. Loads of fun this one. Your mates always appear to be game. It's gotta be the host waddling out of pubs or not. Good going. Mark

A tip for steady done footage Kerry put your setting to. Tripod mode the drone will slow down slightly however your footage will be steady.

Great video the drone footage is looking good cant wait to see more of it in your videos. The drone might shake but that's it just fighting the wind and the gimble should sort it. You could try tripod mode though. I love the way that you and your friends always looks so happy in your videos.

A walk I have never heard of before and you did a good job with the drone to be fair. I liked the way the hike had pub stops all along the way and despite the muddy conditions in parts, a real colourful walk. Perfect place for a lunch stop and the food looked great, as did the drinks, no wonder there were wee stops along the way too. Had to lol when you said broken more friends on another hike, I bet the lads were knackered, especially with the last mile of road walking, which I hate. Cheers Alan

Ahhh thats Bonnie the dog, she’s Jason and Dales doggy, very cute! She joined us on the last day of the trail which is out next week and she was a superstar!!

Great video Kerry. Apart the the shaking you mentioned, is the drone fairly easy to navigate? Norwich City looks nice, may have to give it a visit one day

Hi there Mick, I really want to walk the Ridgeway but I think it will be next spring now due to weather and work commitments x I’m heading upto the Peak District next week though for some hiking

What drone is it? Upping the frame rate could help. Or turning slower.

I have to say of all the places you have walked Norfolk did not float my boat. Good video but the scenery was to tame for my liking .
It was a nice gentle one as my friend has a really bad knee and back, and can’t handle elevation… it’s very flat around that area so perfect for beginners 🤗 but yes I know what you mean in comparison to some of the other trails I’ve hiked this year x
Ps you can't even walk t' shop round here with out going up hill 🤣👍
