Metal Cruises are quite the amusing oxymoron. I remember eating in the dining room and being served fine cuisine by well-dressed waiters, but instead of classical music, metal was playing and the dress code was pretty much black tee shirts as far as the eye could see.
Aw damn...... They didn't put in my favorite part of that little fiasco of a podcast: TB being so broken over the Babymetal thing (and Dodger and Jesse making fun of him with that band), that he says one of my favorite lines:"Death to those who worship false metal!". Aside from that, a hilarious animation!
There was nothing fiasco about that podcast. In fact, it it one of my fave podcasts of all time. Just because of TB's reacion.

Babymetal was a Japanese producers attempt to merge the 2 unlike genres, metal and idol. It actually kinda worked too.

Unless you've spent any amount of time around girls of that age. Then it will not work because you'll realize that they're horrible people.

As someone that enjoys music in many forms, what with it being the greatest invention of mankind and all, I actually like BabyMetal. It's just such a bizarre fusion of two things that by all logic shouldn't work together, and it WORKS.
Metal cruises: one of the few places where you can get a rib cracking massage via baseball bat.
BabyMetal is actually so damn good.

I was at a music fest earlier this year and it had Slipknot, FFDP, and a bunch of other like hard rock metal type bands. BABYMETAL just so happened to also be there. I was afraid that they would get booed and no one would come see them but was pleasantly surprised to find that a lot of metal fans actually liked them.

Speaking of BabyMetal, I actually liked their songs "Megitsune" and "Head Bangya" surprisingly enough.
I have all their songs. Most I generally like but those two song are actually really good. I agree.

Honestly I think their songs are pretty decent and unique. TB is just a bit too hardcore of a Metal fan to accept 14 year old Japanese girls as a part of the genre.
I thought they were pretty hardcore as well and I've been listening to all kinds of metal for the better part of 2 decades. It's the fact that they're a full-blown product that bothers me.
That doesn't bother me personally. But that's more because I know more about Japanese Idol Culture, where the entire thing is about Merchandising and making the girls seem cute with the music being less important.

Knew a guy once in college that went fishing off a city pier and blasts death metal while he sat there. He gets so many strange looks, and he loves it.
Vodka isn't the answer but..it's worth a shot, or twelve. After I give my liver the equivent of a heart attack, I'll give baby metal a try.
TB should check out Sabaton. If I recall, he likes history, and apparently metal, so put the two together and you have one of the most amazing metal bands ever :D

I think he likes Sabaton...I swear he's mentioned them at least a couple of times before...in fact I think that's how I actually found out about them...unfortunately i have no idea exactly when/where he mentioned them though...
Saw them live a couple weeks ago. SOOO GOOOD! Also Amon Amarth. Was a good day. Sabaton got that entire building full of Metallers to do the friggin' YMCA dance. Was hilarious. Well, save for my brother and I.

Only thing is, after watching the video in question myself, I don't think that's supposed to be Jesus, I think that's the Virgin Mary.
I have no idea why, but for some reason, at 1:08 where Jesse says, "Metaaal" I just lose it every time. Maybe its the way the animation makes him look, maybe its the way he says it, maybe its both, but that part just cracks me up every single time!

Yeah, Babymetal is the result of greedy producers wanting to make money, but like a lot of pop-music, it actually kind of works, even if it's a soulless corporate puppet. Maybe I like it because I already liked both metal and japanese pop-music.XD

Forward to 2023, they have won numerous awards opened for RHCP , Korn , Metallica , Judas Priest and Lady Ga Ga while in their teens are on tour across Europe now and just played Wembley Arena and nearly sold out their American tour later this year . Not to mention, they sold out Toyko Dome 2 nights in a row 55.000 a night while still teenagers !
