WOW !!! 1,2,3 and I didn't even turn the chair on it's front. I flipped the latches from the back! Bravo, any 66 year old can do this! I might need help moving it, but I got it apart thanks to this video!!

Found this clip after trying to move a La-Z-Boy from a deceased estate house today. Wasn't going to fit though the doorway easily. Thanks to Google, RUclips and the Furniture Academy, I was able to remove the back of this chair and the moving problem was solved. :)
I just watched your video about removing a seat back. Great info. I need to move an older LZ queen size sleeper about 86" long. I need to move it to a different room up a narrow set of stairs. I want to uninstall the heavy metal mattress frame. Are there any instructions available?
We suggest not taking the metal mattress frame out of your sleeper sofa. It could cause you to void any warranty you may still have on the furniture and potentially cause it not to function properly. You are welcome to call your nearest service center to ask if there are any other suggestions for help during ease of moving. Thanks.
Do the couches have these? Gotta move one in a few days
Yes the sofas work the same way.
how to disconnect back from lazy boy electric recliner
How do you split apart a 2 seater sofa with the wooden lever?
For removing the backs of a La-Z-Boy Loveseat you would follow the same steps. There will be one lever on each end of the loveseat.
no locking brackets
Yeah I just don’t have those latches on mine
Does this work for la-z-boy summit as well?
Yes it does. 😊
Does this procedure work on the big mans lazy boy recliner?
Yes it does!
Do your loves seats work thr same way?
I don't believe they do. Which love seat do you have?
@@FurnitureAcademy I don't I am looking for loveseats that come apart to fit through a narrow hallway
@@lisalevy6954 Maybe consider 2 sectional pieces? Our sectionals are modular. If you bought 2 end pieces you could carry them in one at a time.
