Filmed as well as most movies ever were. Quite an amazing series. Very innovative camera angles and top notch acting, writing and scenery. Very fun to watch. I love this show!
I was born in 1960 so as a little kid I remember this show spooked me, this and twilight zone had a few shows that scared me, brings back early memories. Thank you
When you get killed in a previous life your subconscious remembers it in the next. That’s most likely what happened here and explains the instant hate. Thanks for uploading ! ✨🖖🏻
I agree. Many of us recall previous life-times. If there has been killing (eg armed forces) and the old enemy has like you, achieved spiritual maturity, then productive interaction may occur. Otherwise the old hatred remains and you need to keep clear. Such is Karma.
The Riddle, Season 1, Episode 22, aired 16 June 1959. Warren Stevens as Leonard Barrett, Bethel Leslie as Betty Barrett, Barry Atwater as Mr. Graham, Patrick Westwood as Kumar, Arthur Batanides as Constable Gaisingh, Leonard Strong as the Conductor, John Newland as Himself-Host, Rama Bai as Piari.
Great big cast of really authentic cultured actors. The size and breadth of the entire setting is so believable. The old colors in the film bring such richness. The props are verifiable living records of exactly how it was, not props at all. So enriching everyplace named feel like they flew the whole crew there and researched the legend or history and put together their act. Its like a visitation from the past setting upon me when I watch these truly well filmed episodes. Thanks much.
There was only 1 series of OSB. It lasted 3 years. TZ had 3 series, the 2nd should have been called the New TZ and the 3rd TZ 3; n OL had 2, the 2nd 1 should have been called the New Outer Limits. If by 'series,' u mean 'year', then you should be saying 'year'. It's not 'season' either, it's 'year', just like there's the school year, which goes from September to June. Using 'series' for 'year' is a confusionism, just like using 'season' for 'year', 'gay' for 'homosexual', 'guys' for 'girls', 'issue' for 'problem', ad infinitum.
There was a Chinese guy playing an Indian. You can see him when the cop first appears. He's standing right behind him to the left of the screen, looking over the cop's shoulder. Great episode; one of my favorites.
WOW...I don't know if I'm watching, "Kumar and Ted's Excellent Adventure", or deleted scenes from "A Passage to India"....must be the Heat...." Mad Dogs and Englishmen....Mid-day Sun."
Ouch! Poor old Len! Shot straight in the genitals at about 19:00, but very little blood or viscera! Bet it hurt though. I wonder which Narainpur this incident was supposed to take place in. A pity about all the adverts breaking the flow of this story.
As an Indian, I must note 1. Very bad Hindi by all, but 2. Very good acting by the actor playing the Indian 'old man'. 3. Most of our 15000 passenger trains are air-conditioned now. 4. ONLY the Sikhs (JUST 1.72% of the entire Indian population) wear the turban.
The beginning the woman mentioned salt tablets, which really dates this thing.... I remember salt tablet dispensers in factories and other potentially hot places. It took a few years before they realized they were problematic in numerous aspects. Nowadays everyone knows about electrolytes and how high sodium can affect the heart...
Note to self, watched 11/27/17. I remember seeing "The Twilight Zone," when it was originally on tv I have always thought that "One Step Beyond," was much better----it still is.
@ 1st reply: I've always liked the Twilight Zone, but quite frankly, it simply never had the luxury of making true story claims. E.G. "A nice place to visit", "People are alike all over", etc. It probably would have otherwise.

Thoughts occupy space, and people carry their thoughts with them, and Ranji was living inside Kumar until he could find common ground inside another mind, and invoke his revenge of his death.

This takes place in India and starts on a train to Mumbai, which was called Bombay then. You did not watch this to its end or you would have understood why the Western man hated the Indian.
BECOUSE IN THE FUTURE, HE STILLS ,JUMATS WIFE! THIS IS ONLY FICTION. I RATHER NOT STATE SOMETHING, THEN IT MIGHT COME TRUE! YET THE MAN SAW KUMAR AS A THREAT, BECOUSE ALL THIEFS DO!
No One Step Beyond came first then Twilight Zone. They both came out the same year of 1959. There is room enough for all with similar concepts to make money.

A matter of human record. Love that phrase. Next time someone doubts a story I tell. I will say it is a matter of human record!
Because it is true. For offoce purpose we are just record numbers and files.
Very wise suggestion, #metoo!

Warren Stevens, Barry Atwater and Bethel Leslie were great actors, though not well known. Whoever did the casting knew their business.

I was scared by Dracula films as a child in 70's 😁

That lady left her passport ( !! ) and all their luggage behind on the train. But she seems so unconcerned and not interested in getting them back.
Thanks for an 'interesting' first series, PizzaFlix. I'm looking forward to watching Series 2 soon.

Warren Stevens and a young Jack Palance are spitting images of each other.

and a white guy plays kumar
@axiomist1076 - Maybe the actor was playing the role of "Chinese guy who happens to live in , or is visiting, that Indian village ." Could be .
Wow, watching a lot of these episodes see lots of actors that played in twilight zone.
Jay Acovone reminds me of Warren Stevens. Acovone played a major on SG-1.
I like a matter of human record too. Knocks out a lot of speculation.

One Step Beyond is great, I greatly prefer it to The Twilight Zone, which I saw as a preteen when it was first on television in the late 50's
One Step Beyond episodes are based on true stories . Thsts why theyre better then Zone, which is fictional .
"SWEET OLD MAN!!?" 😆🤣😂!!! I enjoy this over reactive type of acting! Classic👀👍🏾!!! #jahbarbahrak

The Twilight Zone never claimed to present true stories. One Step Beyond makes this claim then presents inane rubbish.

Yes agreed, not reincarnation rather Familiar Spirits.
Yes, lots of deceiving spirits around but not from deceased humans. One possible exception, Samuel to the witch of Endor.
