What a record. I remember being a skinny, hopeless 16 year old with no girlfriend. I just finished my college course, ended up working at the same college putting up wallpaper and doing odd jobs for the summer with a bunch of older dudes. This track was being played ten times a day on all the stations, rocked out every time with my cowboy boot wearing co worker Neil - who drove a Fiat Marea estate and had a new family - what an aspiration - the absolute dream. Got my own family now Neil, hope you're still out there rocking out and taking no prisoners...
Your story made my night! I'm here thinking about "that girl" and how I wish she was my girl, and you sir, made my night! Thank you for sharing this, and God bless Neil!

It’s 2024, I found myself listening to this song which reminds me of my early 20s. I couldn't resist listening everyday and started to play and sing it in my band. Now I know why this song is still absolutely TIMELESS!
How he gets this raw power and grit out of his voice with barely any strain is beyond me 🤯 such an underrated vocalist and underrated band musically, too.
So I figured out the vocal trick the singer uses. Basically I was sick last week and my high range still isn’t back. Had to save my voice for a musical I’m in but had an hour gig with my band about two hours before a performance of the musical. Long story short I ended up, by purely striving for vocal preservation, finding my own “Jet scream”. It really is all diaphragm- way more than you would ever think, and an almost completely relaxed throat. That’s the best way that I can describe it, but yeah for any singers trying to sing this song or sound like Jet, please don’t be unhealthy. It sounds like there’s real force and drive there, but when you do it it really doesn’t and shouldn’t feel like it. You should be able to sing just fine- either clean or distorted- after singing this song in a similar way to the original recording. Then again this is my experience, so it’s not for everyone and just because I said it certainly doesn’t mean it’s right or true. Do what works for you and please don’t hurt yourself. That’s the main message of this comment. No matter what you sing, try to do it healthily and don’t hurt yourself.
Yes! Jets were both by name and by sound a wonderfully Retro throwback to the decades of Rock breaking out ( rather than the equally lovable Rock ‘N Roll of the 50’s). This has its roots in the sounds of the Small Faces, The Who, Rolling Stones , Steppenwolf etc. Great drive & energy.

Once I was a roadie, building stages in WA. For the main, I was a 'bolt monkey', I had to climb the struts, and insert the bolts. One of our stages once housed Jet. Me, and two others played cards underneath the stage, as Jet played, and the crowd pumped on the other side, separated from us by a plastic cover and fence. Once in a while, one of us would emerge back stage, and fetch booze; when I was sent out to fetch, the supply had run out. It was intermission, or a break of some sort, and the Jet lads were behind stage. Two of the fellows, knew exactly what was going on (the others were engaged in chat), and one of them winked at me, and nodded his head at the fridge kept for them - I return-nodded at him, fetched three king browns, and returned to the card game. Get a nostalgic feeling and memories of playing Madden when I was really young. Whatever Madden has this on it was the best and by far had the best soundtrack of any game I've ever played.
Many people don't know this.. but this entire album was recorded "Live off the floor".. Meaning they all played the song together live in the studio.. recorded a few takes of each song.. and used the best one... No multi-track/cut and paste/overdubbing/isolating the same parts over and over till they got it perfect... just the raw.. live band.. exactly how they sound when they play together live... This basically hasn't been done on a major album since the 1960's before 8 track recorders came on the scene... Such a great group.. and great song!
This retro classic rock song could have been written and recorded anytime between 1968 and 2021. Its one of those rare recently recorded tunes Classic Rock stations happily add to a playlist that also includes Queen/ACDC/Zep/Bad Company/ZZTop etc.
Love this song so much! My husband & I saw these guys live about 11 years ago. They were amazing live and we were so disappointed when they split! P.s. they were opening for Powder Finger but they blew those guys off the stage!!

@@natashabenitez7650 I was in the music business and even though I did my best and was NEVER attracted to anyone in the business including band members...I did get involved with a musician but he was different than most. Didn't do drugs he only had a drink on social occasions and he had been in the business since he was very young and he had no desire to be around groupies. He passed that stage long before I met him. I got to meet his family so I know who he really was and he was a good man but we traveled our path as far as we could. I couldn't give him what he needed so I had to walk away. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life because he was not only my best friend who is also my son's father figure. Don't get me wrong my boyfriend loves my son as his own and still does to this day. Unfortunately he and I just couldn't make it through what we needed to make it successful as a couple. My son still calls him dad and sees him all the time. I will always love him and appreciate everything he showed me about life and music. When I left him my son was 12 years old. My son is now 33 and I started listening to music last August. The way my boyfriend wrote music was from his heart and everywhere I turned it seems like the music spoke to me. I can't listen to music passively, I never could. Music affects me emotionally and having gone through so many years with my boyfriend music was just too hard to hear.

JS Initials Iggy Pop- Lust For Life on this song. Cold Hard Bitch is a ripoff of pretty every AC/DC song. Look What You've Done basically just several Beatles songs cut and pasted together. 12years ?
@@seanperry807 This was just uploaded 12 years ago, but released as a single 18 years ago. RUclips just didn't exist back in 2003.
@@kriptyk Knew i would get a comment back as soon as i said it, thanks for letting me know :)
@@seanperry807 haha, no problem! :D
I love your profile picture! 😉
Best party song ever. I have it as my alarm 🎯 Thank you for making this world a much better place 🙏🏼❤️
Having it as your alarm is a bad idea, it will make you hate the song eventually 😕
this song is so timeless
This song should be recognized as the most baddass serenade of all time!
I went see them and they were great, about the first 8 rows were going nuts, I was well in there

I really like the instruments, and how its sung! ^^ new fave
One of the few rock masterpieces to come out of the 2000s
2000s was actually awesome for rock music.... I like it more than 90s.
More than a few but yeah
@@dragonlukasmapping805Nah the 2000s were shitty as hell for rock, 90s were fking amazing. This song is awesome but 99% of 2000s rock sucked dick and was super cringey.
i agree but American Idiot came out sooooo
a few???????
Australian Rock n Roll.....That country has got it going on with Bands like Jet.....

Awesome stuff! It's the kinda tunes that us musicians love to hear and be motivated by. Thanks!

Good yes but simple musically.

Get a nostalgic feeling and memories of playing Madden when I was really young. Whatever Madden has this on it was the best and by far had the best soundtrack of any game I've ever played.
I can not believe that it has been 10years since the song was made. 👍👍👍
It was actually released in 2003, dunno if ur being ironic though haha
+100 points for the AC/DC shirt. Great music!
This song that was once a derivative of a classic sound and attitude, has now become a classic itself.
knuteboy37
derivative !! thats the word I was looking for.
We want to be the rolling floydbeatles
Many people don't know this.. but this entire album was recorded "Live off the floor".. Meaning they all played the song together live in the studio.. recorded a few takes of each song.. and used the best one... No multi-track/cut and paste/overdubbing/isolating the same parts over and over till they got it perfect... just the raw.. live band.. exactly how they sound when they play together live... This basically hasn't been done on a major album since the 1960's before 8 track recorders came on the scene... Such a great group.. and great song!
So if they miss or fail in something they start form the begining again?
Cosplaying Our Parent's Cultures
This retro classic rock song could have been written and recorded anytime between 1968 and 2021. Its one of those rare recently recorded tunes Classic Rock stations happily add to a playlist that also includes Queen/ACDC/Zep/Bad Company/ZZTop etc.

This song could have been written by The Who
Love this song so much! My husband & I saw these guys live about 11 years ago. They were amazing live and we were so disappointed when they split!
P.s. they were opening for Powder Finger but they blew those guys off the stage!!
REO Speedwagon & Cheep Trick among others used to do it all the time in the early 1970's before they became headliners.
Eddie Money opened for Foghat, the show I saw.
Absolutely smoked them.
I stuck around to hear Stone Blue live and went back home.
Become an Eddie Money fan that night.
One of my top 10 songs of all time ❤️ Love this song 🎵

My uncle and his band played this ages ago, and I'm still playing it on my bass years later
This is the song that taught me in high school that not all modern rock was screamo and Panic At the Disco "look at mee"-ing. It was still about the music to some.
Thank you, Jet. Not sure what happened after this awesome album but thanks for this one at least.

Susan Black Andrade wow such a story, you must have loved him a lot. I could never survive so many years without music
@@kiy8528 I did and still do but in a different way. It was hard being a "passive" listener of music...but like I said, it just hurt too much, sometimes it still does but I need to close that off and move on...so now I listen to everything...absolutely everything!
Thank you for your time to have read me story...I figured no one would read it. Haha!
You took a break from music. Yikes that's shocking! I can never do that music is drugs to me

Heard it, lost it and today finally hear it again...what a masterpiece!
I wish Bands like this back in the Charts/Radio and so on..
In other words, bands with absolutely no originality or personality
You can see in the vid the band works damn hard. They work hard for their money, they deserve to get paid. What's this thing with millennials and their desire for FREE downloads? That's robbery.
JS Initials Yea, ripping off other people's songs is such hard work.
Pray tell which songs? BTW, that's why there are lawyers. The legal eagles earn a lot, and barely break a sweat.
JS Initials Iggy Pop- Lust For Life on this song. Cold Hard Bitch is a ripoff of pretty every AC/DC song. Look What You've Done basically just several Beatles songs cut and pasted together. I could probably actually bothered to listen to any other songs. And I understand every artist steals, these guys just do it in such a bland and inoffensive way without injecting their own personality into the songs.
