Tim Brando is 100% correct on ASU 🔱 getting robbed in the Peach 🍑 Bowl. So much respect for this show and Mr. Brando 🔥 ... ASU is on the rise and college football needs Sparky 🔱⭐
Seems to me if I wanted to educate referees, coaches, and players about targeting-I could use the example from Texas on ASU. An example of a referee not willing to impact a game by calling the correct penalty.
Not willing to impact the SEspnC from getting a team in the final four. Funny how it was a B1G ref that refused to make that call. They gave that game to Texas, thereby screwing ASU. My opinion with not having a team in it.
Yet I didn’t, because I don’t agree. The Ref feared the consequences of making the correct call when the Texas player targeted the ASU player. If you think Texas deserved to win in spite of that fine, couldn’t disagree, but that team failed to do their job at a key moment in the game. Corrupt or incompetent either one-not good. Good luck against OSU hope Texas wins.
UCLA came to LSU in mid September and the news never landed on a number but it was "hundreds" receiving emergency heat related medical attention. also the teams went completely flat in the second half and UCLA might have been legitimately fatigued
I agree but i doubt it will happen due to fan pressure and city municipal emergency departments. (Police, Ambulance, Fire Department) It’s gets more dangerous and harder to control when there are prime time night games. Noon kick off is easier to plan for. Less drunk college students at 11am kick off than 7pm kick off. 😂
Great content with Tim Brando, he's a high-caliber contributor. I have to disagree with Tim on 1 issue: BYU should have been in SMU's spot. They had a better resume, beat them head-to-head, and were a better matchup against the Nittany Lions.
That could have been an easier case to sell had the XII tiebreaker gave BYU a spot in the championship game. The committee showed they are willing to value P4 Conference Championship participants over non participants with similar resumes.
@@matthewdelellis7557 , I love the Nittany Lions, I've been a fan since I knew football in Latrobe in the early 80s. But if you think that a James Franklin coached Penn State team is beating a team with more talent when it matters, you're delusional.
How? ASU line was getting blown up on every play not one call of holding. Scattebo was pulled over the touchdown line by his lineman which wasn't a penalty. The DPI that was called which was clearly OPI when skateboo pushed off. There was a missed DPI in the end zone that they called a similar call on a 2 pt conversation for ASU. And on the targeting the Texas DB didn't launch he just made a play. On the pick the ASU player clearly launched at the head of the Texas player although his shoulder hit the upper part of his chest he took his arm and used it to clearly hit the Texas players head. That is textbook targeting
@ if the hit on the ASU receiver wasn’t targeting then there is no such thing as targeting. How about the partially blocked field goal that should have counted but didn’t. And the group rush push is a common play, is a pull any different? But I think we can agree that the game was not well called, (with a major RX bias IMHO).
You can please some of the people all the time , all of the people some of the time but you will never please all the people all the time. It doesn't matter if there are 12 teams or 40 teams you will always have some teams who will be critical of who got in or who was left out.
Do Not change seeding! Top 4 conference champions get byes. Leave it. This year, B1G title game would have been backups, because neither 1-Oregon or 3-Penn State would want to risk losing a bye. You want that bye. This is how the Conference Champ Games matter. DO NOT CHANGE!!!
Problem is that 2 teams being incorrectly seeded throws of seeding for the whole tournament. This is how conference championship games matter? If Oregon purposely lost the big 10 championship they would be the 5 seed and most likely be in the final 4. Championship game sure didn't matter for Oregon.
Any play that goes to replay becomes suspicious. Someone other than the field officials is making the call. Who is that and who is in communication with them?
This is nothing compared to the Ohio State game. People say you can call holding on every play but not one holding call was made when the game was close. I believe one call was made over 68 passes. That's ridiculous when you have a defensive coordinator as a coach for Oregon.
No, their credibility is already 100% gone when they spoke for 80 years about the importance of academics, then, almost overnight, they allow players to play for a different team each year via the "portal." NO ONE talks about how that makes "the education part" ... impossible.
The only difference between now and then besides immediate eligibility is that we stopped pretending the players are playing for school pride and a scholarship. They've been getting paid for as long as there has been football.
Don't make the damn ads so load. Damn near blew my eardrums out when it came on. Seriously. Oh and Tesas should have lost that game with ASU. I firmly believe the officials gave that game to Texas with that no-call. Funny how the B1G referees made sure the SEC had a team in there. Oh, and Herbie is totally wrong about win not mattering. Of course he is wrong about a lot of things.
Every p4 conference gets 3 bids the 2 teams in the conference championship and an at large the at large can be played same weekend as the championship game the 2 best g5 and 2 more at large or ND. All the conference champions play the at large teams the conference number 2s play the remaining at large and g5 teams. All the champions get the top seeds and the at large draw who the are playing. Get the rankings outa here a room full of guyse should never decide who the best teams are let the play on the field determine that
@nmorrismasters3974 is essentially what we have now and everyone is crying about it. That would take it to a 16 team and fix the seeding issues get rid of the rankings and make your final game a must win to get in or a favorable first round match-up. ND is the only outlier but ypu can't punish them for not being in a conference. 2 g5 teams helps spread the talent so it's not just the schools who spend the most. And having a chance helps keep kids with programs
Great segment! ESPN's efforts to turn the SEC and B10 into a pair of super leagues and marginalize every other school is a road to disaster. People have tried to set up mini-NFL leagues for decades and it's never worked. Having it based in the college world isn't going to change that. I'm NEVER going to change my loyalty to Bama or Ohio State because ESPN has marginalized my preferred team. I'll just stop watching college football and do something else with my time.
It’s hilarious to me that everyone thinks that ASU wins if they get the targeting call. But that puts them at Texas’ 47? They still have to get it within field goal range and have a kicker who is as sketchy as Texas’ make one. It is also funny to me that ASU and others are crying about not getting free yards. Not that this penalty kept them from making more yards or kept them from making a play. They just wanted to be given a Freebie bc their WR got tackled hard. Oh and it’s not like they didn’t have 2 OTs to include a 4&13 to win the game on their own merit. So stop with this asinine comments, the right team won. ASU played their heart out and I would have been proud had they won, but complaining about not receiving a hand out is some weak mentality.
worst call since Keyontae Johnson got two fouls in the opening moments of the Elite 8 game a couple of years ago.Seriously, with today's amazing video technology, no reason they can't put an official in the broadcasting control room with the ability to call for a review, and better yet override a call based on obvious evidence without the delay of a standard review.
Anti-Texas Sooner fan commenting on this. Might as well hear the Wildcats take. But of course we cry about a no-call penalty that wasn’t targeting, didn’t impact the score, ignore Skat’s Suplex that is a no-call penalty that did impact the score. Ignore the no-call targeting against ASU DB who hit Bond, ignore the first down that was a yard+ short, and the other bonus yards that helped tire the Texas Defense. Ignore the illegal man downfield penalties (2 on one play) by ASU at the goal line. But nah, that doesn’t fit the narrative. OU sucks.
Yeah, took you this long to figure that out huh and I’m a big school and I already knew that it was about money. It was never about more inclusivity. They fooled all your people who wanted this format.
Bowl games aren't proof of anything, Kid Tim. Using bowl games proves you have no leg to stand on. How many players were in the portal for those teams? Alabama? Can't say the same team from November is the same team from the bowl game. Stupid. Idiotic take.
Bama had no business losing to a C- Michigan without ALL of their best players. Both starting DTs, starting TE, Starting safety, Starting CB, RB1&2 and their terrible QB who was probably the worst in the country even got knocked out of the game halfway through and they had to put a RB who can't pass under center the rest of the game. No excuses, Bama went out sad.

IMO Arizona St. benefitted more from missed calls than Texas did. Brando's in love with the sound of his own voice.
@chuckwest7045 you're joking 😂
@@CheTafoya Nope. I'm serious.
High level college football is rigged. Alabama Georgia earlier in the year clearly had players missing tackles on purpose. Usually it's refs though.
Seems to me if I wanted to educate referees, coaches, and players about targeting-I could use the example from Texas on ASU. An example of a referee not willing to impact a game by calling the correct penalty.
You could say the same about the targeting on the Texas WR where the ASU player clearly launched

The problem is the referee impacted the game by NOT calling it. Just call a penalty when it's a penalty!
OSU vs Texas, watching Sark beg for that targeting was wild. 🤣😂
Having Texas in CFB Playoffs is NOT hitting all 7s the slot machine.
Agreed , it was 3rd and 15 with a minute to play and the game on the line. What kind of hit do you expect in that situation?
Gotta love Tim Brando
He's got a huge ego.
Every team in the playoffs would smoke Colorado
SMU, ASU, Indiana or Boise would not come close to blowing CU out. CU would win 1-2 of those games.
Problem with 3 weeks earlier then they need to outlaw noon games in the South. Way to hot that time of year. Night games only in August.
...and September!
UCLA came to LSU in mid September and the news never landed on a number but it was "hundreds" receiving emergency heat related medical attention. also the teams went completely flat in the second half and UCLA might have been legitimately fatigued

Learn rules, wish-casting won’t make it targeting.
Why was Texas called for FAR more penalties? Why did "they" let ASU catch up? They could have easily stopped the come back. Make it make sense.
@ I addressed the targeting and non field goal. No contest?
I think the new format is great 👍
