im ukrainian and i think in this time belarusian and ukrainian was almost one nation (mostly name self how rusyn, also part name self how litvin, but in fact culture is very similar, language too)
Final phrase "At this minute, we put the flag in our hands, let everyone write an interesting sequel" probably a reference to the next fight for independence
Most part of the video is total falsification of the history and belongs to Lithuania, but not Belarus. Especially with the part about Vilnius and Gediminas. Vilnius was always Lithuanian and never Belarussian. Stop lying to yourself, copers.
why is it called villnus if the river is diffrent name in baltic while in slavic its called villna river im not saying Lithuanian hisory is belarusian, im saying its much closer then you think of being 1 culture 2, people 2 languges.
Mh, the Belarusian nationalist historical narration is even more dubious than that of Ukraine. Otherwise it isn't that surprising, since all these borderland regions in the east have witnessed multi-vectorial influences through centuries, with different rules, cultures (catholism vs orthodoxy, latin vs cyrillic, "west" vs "east"), influences and loyalities. what worries me the most is, that such a divided environment could end up like Ukraine. Foreign powers are strengthening their political ambitions and competition for local hearts and mind. good luck you people of Belarus, be wise and factual.
@@lightninggames5614 of course it isnt, because there is no free political space in Belarus, no Western lobbyists on ground, no real Western influence on the civil society, no political shareholders. Wait until this changes, a matter of time until Belarus will witness the same destiny as Ukraine. These are politically and ideologically highly contested regions.
@@lightninggames5614 No, but I am into this region, with a main focus on Russia and Ukraine. One should look how Tichanovskaya has adopted Belarusian nationalist themes with her team around Franak Viacorka, son of a dedicated nationalist Belarusian opposition figure and well connected to govt institutions in Washington DC, he also works as the director for the US foreign media department of Radio Free Europe Belarus
@@coolcat1813 And I do live in Belarus, so I am ever so slightly *more* into the region and I do have a clue about the way people live here, the way our government treats our language and people, and the fact that because of Lukashenko we have basically lost our independence to Russia with its troops all around our land and, more horribly, attacking another nation (which is historically the most brotherly to us) from our territory. And believe me, ~80% of Belarusians never ever ever had had a need in such shit happening with our country.

Nice my slav brothers :) Slava vama / Srbin
"Wow, you call invaders a brotherly naton?" - I think that was sarcasm.
It's not really mutually exclusive.
It is, but our illigitimate government calls Russia that
Brotherly nation doesn't attack you again and again throughout the history, and doesn't occupy you. so i guess the song is correct.

I love this
Wow, you call invaders a brotherly naton?
Also, i love how you skipped the part about Lukashenka.
They've skipped him 'cause he's a short episode and they're not a dictatorship.

Thanks !! wow)))
but francysk ... heard that the major and not a snob
What do they sing in this refrain with "Let us know our roots" budzma ???
They mean that we need to know our roots, culture and traditions. And that we are furious people =)
They sing so we remember what was, to remember ancestors and to remember the past!
During Soviet time ( and again now under Russian occupation) they teach only falcified history.

The division in Belarus is not even close to what it was in Ukraine
