So my take on the secret project is a little differently viewed, but see what you think of it. I believe the 787 is the project they have been working on, since QW announced their cancellation on their 787. As well as Boeing talking about the 777X, it is not too far from release IRL, and it is the most logical. I understand why the 757 could be one of the project ideas, but I simply wouldn’t understand why they would compete against BlueBird, if they said themselves that they have been sharing ideas and information through the background with developers like them, including more like Fenix, etc. I also don’t believe they will ever work on an Airbus aircraft, simply because their association with licensing is primarily with Boeing. But, who knows? I would like to see a high fidelity A330/340 from the team.
Very well said. Completely understand your views. I'm not ruling anything out as anything can happen. And PMDG will eventually run out of Aircraft to produce from Boeing, so the questions should be: What next? But the chances of a Airbus PMDG is still slim!

I don't see PMDG ever developing an Airbus jet. They started on the A320 around the FSX age (after the MD-11) but the developers left PMDG and went to FSLabs. Plus I think it might hurt their relationship with Boeing as their products carry official certifications from Boeing
If PMDG says they are not restricted to Boeing and can indeed develop a non- Boeing aircraft....Airbus among Embraer, McDonald Douglas and Lockheed are (were) all airline manufacturers. So yes, Airbus is a huge possibility despite what we can and can't see.
Do note, that they also recently hired an ex-Aerosoft employee who was at the time of his resignation, working on an Airbus A330. I While neither of us have insight into the inner workings of PMDG and their future projects, why wouldn't they take advantage of someone with huge amount of knowledge on an Airbus aircraft...especially an aircraft which can develop into two major models with relative ease due to commonality: A332/A333/A342/A343/A345/A346/A338/A339. That is A LOT of different planes my friend and a huge market that is current not served by any developer.
PMDG devs left and moved to FSLabs? Now we finally know who have made the famous FSLabs malware. PMDG included malware in their MD-11 update, then FSLabs included malware in their A-320. Cannot be a coincident, must be those DEVs who migrated from PMDG and brought the idea of using malware disguised as DRM.
I can just imagine what that giant will feel in the sim!!

The features they’re going to include makes me wonder if they’re going to continue making the 737 better. It can’t be that hard to make a openable door or CPDLC/ACARS.

Sadly I will have to agree on this. But I think they will still release it on 2020 as the market will still be saturated and i'm sure not everyone will switch to 2024. So it would be smart to release on both.

Lol not PMDG Airbus. We have Fenix, FSL are working on their Buses. But something like the Ejets from PMDG ? Now that sounds appealing.
I guess we will never know until it happens! I do remember Robert saying that if they we're to go into the Airbus region, it would be the A350.

I'm not sure what the crossover market is, but with the DCS F4 Phantom approaching release as well (with a slight delay), it's going to be a fun time.
2024 is already off to a great start in terms of flight simulation. It’ll only get better from here :)
I was hoping it would be the 200ER/LR.
Regarding the weather radar and wipers yes Asobo deserves hate not the PMDG, but the taxi cameras? I dont get it. Add new camera is pretty easy in MSFS. I understand if it lowers too much FPS if you should "stream" the camera feed from tail for example to some cockpit monitor or to in flight enrtainment screen, but its doable.
MSFS does not support point in space cameras which is also why the mirrors on the stock F-18 do not properly reflect what is behind them.
While casually listening to this amongst other avgeek news today, I have to keep reminding myself that the reason this news sounds so good is that it's about Boeing simulated model planes, not Boeing planes.
Window wipers are already working in many MSFS2020 aircraft, so I don't understand why they say it's impossible to implement when most of other addons have them.
Theyre just animations, the actual function of the wiper isnt available in the sim.

@@InformationAlpha IIRC there was a TFDI 717 at one point, but it was discontinued, and now the CaptainSim 717 is unfortunately the only option

@@davidtsw yes, but then think about the other critical areas they’ve needed to focus resources on. I understand that it’s a simple feature but still, it costs money and resources and at this moment that money and resources needs to be focused elsewhere.
@@plane_spotter_italy I mean yes there have working wipers but they aren’t functional in a normal sense. What they have is a temp fix as there is no feature that actually allows a wiper to wipe a surface (cleaning it). If you notice, it just shows a animation of water being distorted.

Just doing normal Boeing things nowadays lol. First bolts, wheels now wipers lol. But yeah apparently there is a limitation with the Wipers. Fenix did manage to find a work around, whoever it is effective, just a temporary fix until the feature is made available.
@@InformationAlpha I'm just not getting the wiper thing. All aircrafts in the sim having wipers have them operating fine. Including pmdg 737. Are they talking about smears on the windshield when wipers are working or what? Rain effetcs on the windshield?
Wipers are available, what is not available is the wiper clearing the windscreen as it goes by. Misunderstanding by the presenter.

What fenix has done is a temporary fix which isn't that accurate and does not actually wipe off the rain. They too are waiting for the feature to implement this.

I hope PMDG's secret project is the B787 family or the A340 family. I will be very disappointed if this "secret project" were to step on the toes of other developers who are already producing the B757 and A350. There are other commercial airliners that still have not been mentioned such as the A340-300, A340-600, B767-300ER and B767-400ER. Despite not caring much for older airliners, I would still take both the L1101 and DC-10 but we are seriously in desperate need of some quad jet jumbos. A340-300 and -600 both have so much more character and quirks over current jetliners and true airline simmers have been requesting study level versions of these planes for decades now.
Completely agree! We've been begging for an A346 for years since FSX and we're still shocked that no one has made a good quality one yet!

Fenix has window wipers and weather radar in msfs. Definitely not sim limitations.
It's not weather radar it's just showing clouds.

@@CaptainStandiford You're thinking of the NEXTRAD/ADSB In weather. This information is transmitted via GPS. Whereas Weather radar uses its own dish.
