      This is from an Article of New York Times 26th August 1991:
      Officer Gabrish, 28 years old, a patrolman for seven years, said he and the other officers believed there was a caring relationship between Mr. Dahmer and the Laotian boy and saw no reason to intervene.
      "We're trained to be observant and spot things," he said. "There was just nothing that stood out, or we would have seen it. I've been doing this for a while, and usually if something stands out, you'll spot it. There just wasn't anything there."
      There was nothing that stood out, wtf?? What about a naked human being who is bleeding?? That's normal?? They were clearly racists since most of the eye witnesses were black and so was the victim an immigrant. Sack of shits.

      I've watched many documentaries about Dahmer and it was said that, sadly, at that time the police didn't care much about homosexual victims or potential victims. Allegedly that's why they didn't check properly what was going on and the kid lost his life when he was so close to being saved.

    Horrifyingly, Konerak Sinthasomphone was not "drunk" as police supposed. The neighbors' intuition that something was desperately wrong was correct: Dahmer had drilled a hole in the young man's skull and poured acid in it.

      @@constitution_8939 Ehh...that was all quite histrionic. It should be understood that Crowley, in very much the same manner as THE MARQUIS De SADE, was known to many by virtue of his dubious celebrity, though very few knew him personally, and fewer still possessed an incisive understanding of his eccentric theological bent. The books of history are rife with revisionist bias and propaganda, and suppositious interpretations of alleged second-hand accounts from individuals of questionable veracity. The more plausible and likely version of the story paints Crowley as a ponderous, somewhat pretentious narcissist with a varied and insatiable sexual appetite, more inconsiderate than evil, and a man who relished in his own notoriety. His mystical preoccupations were more a sarcastic criticism of Christian hypocrisy than a truly held belief or practice. No demon conjuring, no taxidermy of his mother's corpse, just a bunch of entitled, free-loving pervs being theatrical, obfusc, and self-important for fun and attention.

That show was feeding the sick people who worship serial killers, not the ones wanting to study them.

      They never listened, so she tried to run away. The police caught her and her parents pressed charges, so she had to go to court.
      The police and the judge all told my mom what a bad daughter she was for being ungrateful to her parents.
      Her parents who starved her and beat her and mentally tortured her with insults and gaslighting.

He's the poster boy for horrible and barbaric practices towards his fellow man. While he sickens me to the core however, I see the merit in studying him and wish he had been kept alive - solely for the reason that there must be things we could document through experiments and studies on Dahmer, that would reveal things to us about what defines a psychopath: what are their common traits, thought patterns, interests, ways of speaking, and what kind of antecedents lead up to serial killing? If we had a tonne of data on these types of people, they would eventually be discernible a lot sooner within the community. The more we learn, the less they wield any power over us. There must be a key or series of keys that reveal who they really are, although the publishing of those conclusions will likely lead to those killers shying away from those behaviours so they aren't caught.

The ways criminal justice doesn't really mesh with criminology in a pure fashion is fascinating because criminal justice isn't geared towards these extreme cases simply because they are extreme. You presented this highly disturbing content in a very calm and measured way, without a hint of sensationalism. If only main-stream media knew how to present a documentary in such an adult way! I took the Dahmer tour two years ago and walking around Walker's Point now and learning what the neighborhood used to be is kind of nuts. It's a gentrification tour. The guide told us that the police found out there were body parts in Dahmer's apartment because one of the officers on scene went to the fridge for a beer and saw organs in there. After that that, they obviously had an idea of who they were dealing with. The point other people have made about the cops not caring at all about the murders in the community is entirely true. The more you learn about it, the more clear it gets.
    My friend's relative worked with Dahmer and said that he was very shy and isolated. I was very young when Dahmer was brought to justice, so I remember nothing of the news coverage. My brother-in-law had nightmares, though.

    • @cccbeats_
      @cccbeats_ 2 года назад +2

      @@8luvbug I definitely agree with what you're saying, but they're two different kinds of serial killers. John Wayne Gacy not only killed more, but he denied everything for ages and knew how to play mind games with the police. It wasn't even that the police were incompetent with him like they were with Jeffrey Dahmer. It was just that John Wayne Gacy knew they were following him and he knew how to get them frustrated. There's a lot of different factors that come into it on both sides, so for me, it's hard to say who was worse.

    • @charlesswitzer8378
      @charlesswitzer8378 2 года назад +2

      Gacy had a higher kill count, but he was not a cannibal and it is believed he didn't engage in necrophilia. With that in mind, Gacy was a psychopath, and despite how appalled people naturally are at what Dahmer did, scientists are now saying labeling him as such is incorrect. Gacy took delight and sadistic glee in torturing his victims; Dahmer had more of a deep-rooted sickness that revolved around beauty, loss, self-loathing, and other paraphilias. He was also diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.

    • @thodawrice
      @thodawrice 2 года назад +5

      @@cccbeats_ The fact that Dahmer confessed to everything while being aware is one of the reasons why everyone even notorious serial killers were unnerved by him. Gacy was being smart with the police, while Dahmer knew that the police wouldn't catch him because of the people he targeted (LGBTQ+ people of color). Dahmer confessed to everything in a calm voice, unphazed and detailed. He himself said he knew it was wrong but he couldn't stop so he did it anyways. He did human experiments trying to make men his obedient zombies that wouldn't leave his side and ate his victims so they can be a part of him that would never leave. He kept trophies and took pictures to remember them. So yeah, I think Dahmer is worse than Gacy. Gacy tricked the police and played little games with them, knowing he could get away after killing that many people anyways which is the scariest part. But Dahmer was way scarier in my opinion

    in answer to the final question: i don't think dahmer was sane in the general sense of the term, but sane in the legal sense. he had homicidal and sexual urges that were clearly uncontrollable without medication, therapy, or institutionalization. however, he clearly knew these urges were wrong. from his early attempts to control his urges via alcoholism, to his disposal of the bodies, to his panic after killing his second victim, he showed a clear ability to know that what he was doing was wrong, but continued doing it regardless. i think if he was charged today, he should've been kept in a high security mental hospital for life, or at least a prison that could treat him properly, as he clearly showed signs of some kind of disordered thinking, but that's neither here nor there.

So anyone who tries to hide what they have done, to not get caught is not insane because they know that they have done wrong and gone against what society decides is acceptable.

You can have any number of mental disorders, but if clear intent is proven and you're lucid enough to participate in your own defense, then you are deemed sane (or sane at the time of the act) and fit to stand trial.
