I made my biggest mistake of buying the 7 string C7 FR S Apocalypse red reign for about $1500 when I should’ve got the 6 string C1 FR S . I have always been more natural with 6 string guitars . The C7 sounds all good , but soloing feels quite weird due to 26.5 scale length , heavy neck and I’m not much of a djent or too much shred player . My style is also more blues , rock , thrash and some jazz fusion. Don’t know what got into me to buy that , it just sits there pretty while I play all my 6 string guitars like PRS and Fender . Does the 6 string C1 FRS Schecters also feel neck heavy and a little uncomfortable to play ?
Hi and thank you for checking out this video - so appreciated and hope u enjoy it. Bummer the the 7 string doesn't work for you - live and learn, perhaps you can sell it on reverb and get your investment back or maybe on you local craigslist. Dont sweat it too much as we all make mistakes - consider it a learning experience and who knows - if you keep it maybe one day you will end up using it. I have found many 6 string schecters to be pretty well balanced for the most part. Not that I played every model in their line but the ones I played have all felt pretty good. @@roadsportuk Hey, just saw this. Awesome, the bridge is hot but my personal favorite for hotter outputs. The sustainiac sounds awesome even as a good ole neck pickup. The prices on these are sneaking up there but I feel it's worth every dollar. I still have her and 100% happy with this!
great demo ! I am a repair person and have the exact guitar in for repair, your description and demonstration has helped me get the thing back in order.

Oh man, David! You've come a long way. Great review. Answered every question and good solid demo playing! I'm thinking I got the impression from the way you handled the guitar body and showed it thin edge on to the camera that it weighs and feels a lot like an SG. I'm right about that, eh? Anyway. thanks. Appreciate the efforts.
Hi Greg and thanks so much for your kind words - really means a lot to me and I appreciate it! SO glad that u liked this review. Its a really fun guitar. I dont think it plays like a Gibson or SG - more in the Ibanez, ESP family if that means anything. Overall a great playing and sounding guitar for the hard rock and metal genres. Please review a Kiesel 6 string like a CS6 or the Jason Becker model maybe a Delos . Maybe an NS1 acoustic Thanks for your reviews you're very thorough.
Thanks David - really appreciate your kind words and thanks so much for watching my videos. Lots more to come so please stay tuned. I recently picked up a Kiesel 7-string - pretty bad ass guitar. I dont have a Kiesel 6-string to review. Will keep my eyes open for one. I have a Carvin 6-string that I play in some videos and I used a bit on my new record. Keep up all that hard work on that guitar and keep on rocking! -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc.
Hi and thanks for watching this video. Love this guitar. I did the video some time ago but if I remember correctly the pickups were passive except for the sustaining which required power from the 9 volt. Hi Joseph and this would be an amazing starter guitar - its a lot of guitar and its not in the starter guitar price being closer to a grand new but if you have it in the budget and u love this guitar then it may be worth considering. You can also start with something a little less money wise and work up to this guitar once you feel you have more a command of the style of music you want to play - all just suggestions - and thank u for checking out this video - so appreciated. And be sure to take a good look around the channel as we have tons of killer lessons and songs taught in the same format - lots of fun stuff. @@rockongoodpeople thanks for the reply. Looking further into it and it seems like some of the guitars I am interested are in low stock everywhere. This one and the Hellraiser which I think may be comparable both hard to find in Canada. I will have to do more research. I want a good quality of sound even for a starter guitar, decent pickups, really good built in features that wont fail so willing to spend a little more for the quality. My budget around 1000. Should I be looking at just getting a cheap guitar instead and expensive effects/amp? I want somethi g that feels easier to play in the hands so it is easier to learn with less tuning
Hi agagin Joe. Thats a great budget and there are a lot of options out there in your price range that will get you a well built and well playing instrument. Yeah, with the global pandemic and more people taking up guitar stock on guitars are low everywhere. One other option is check the used market like on Reverb, eBay and your local craigslist. I suggest getting a better quality guitar - don't get a cheap one. You want a well built instrument that will stay in tune and one that is easy to play and sound good. One that is motivating and empowering to look at and to play and rock out! Enjoy the journey and let me know what u decide. And have a rocking day! -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc.
one other thing Joe, not sure if you know but I have another RUclips channel where I teach song lessons - killer popular songs - all levels - check out that channel and learn some fun tunes - its Epic Guitar Instruction - here - ruclips.net/channel/UCNW063dLRHCz1nM4cUcqG7g
Hi Igor and thank u for checking out this video. No, I did not use any type of noise gate or suppressor when filming this video. The signal chain was the Schecter guitar plugged straight into a PRS Archon 25 watt tube combo amp and on the lead channel with gain set at 75%, cabinet I had miked with a share SM57 microphone and the only effects were a splash of reverb and delay in the amp fx loop via a Keeley Caverns pedal - thats it - simple setup. Hope u enjoyed the video and be sure to take a good look around the channel as we have tons of killer lessons and content - lots of fun stuff. Enjoy and stay tuned - lots more killer lessons coming soon. Keep up all that hard work on that guitar and please subscribe to the channel. @@rockongoodpeople Hey, asking because I'm getting some hiss when guitar is idle and i let go with my left hand, kind of like microphonics. Maybe my noise control skill is poor, at least i hope it's that and not a broken sustaniac
Hi Igor - try it with another guitar and see if you have the same issue as maybe its something from the amp or a cable. Also change pickups and see where the noise is the worst - try to narrow it down and pinpoint the issue then attack it. I did this review a good while ago so I dont remember exactly but I dont think I was getting any excessive noise from the guitar. Best of luck and keep up all that hard work on that guitar and please subscribe to the channel. Take care, and rock on! -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc. & EGI
Hi and thanks so much for your kind words - really appreciate that! So glad that u liked this review and I hope that your guitar journey is going awesome! Can anyone please explain why does the neck pickup on clean (first demo set of the video) sounds so much hotter and louder than the bridge pickup, despite being a single coil?
i have this guitar but ,,why when i use sustainer all others strings not in use make a noise and vibration??is only my guitar or is really the sustainer system??
Hi Colton and thanks for watching this video. Thats a great question......Im not sure but I would guess probably that they dont as they probably want to keep it with their guitar line - but Im not sure. I ask this question cause I wanna put a sus-pickup on my schecter hell raiser....but I don’t know what sus-pickup to buy...you have any recommendation??? 🤔
I am not that familiar with their sustaniac pickup line. I suggest checking out the Schector website and perhaps even giving their tech support a call. Many guitar companies have good techs manning the phones to help customers and perhaps they can go over some options with you. Sorry I can't be more help on this matter. Best of luck and keep on rockinG! -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc.
You can indeed buy the sustainiac on it's own. A quick Google search should get you the company website. You will have to have some work done as the controls need to be installed, etc.
Hi and thanks for watching our video. Hope that u enjoyed it. I don't have one of those Orange amps but I will look into seeing if one can be made available for a review. Take care and keep on rockinG! And if you get a sec please subscribe to the channel. -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc.

the agressive sounding is partly due to the amplification & playing style , Its a stylish guitar, not sure if its really agressive, just has a really good slightly dark style to it.
Hi again - David Taub here again from Next Level Guitar - thanks again for watching my video and for your kind words. Would appreciate your thoughts on the tones in the below tune. 01/01/2020 Happy New Year! Could you do a demo of the Fender solid-state Tone Master? I am assuming it was supposed to copy or simulate the Fender Deluxe Tube amp. But, since it is a solid-state amp $1,000.00 is way too much money for it. OK, it is very light in weight and no tubes to break down, but it is a solid-state and should not cost $1,000.00 for what people are buying. Here are the things I do not like about this amp. (1) No Effects Loop, (2) No dedicated clean channel that stays clean all the way maxed out, and it does not start breaking break-up with distortion at volume #3 or #4 as all Fender amps do, and (3) no headphone jack. Speaking of the headphone jack, yes, it has a power selector for bedroom playing quietly. But, so do other solid-state amps, and they still have a headphone jack. I think headphones are the best for noseless quiet playing in a bedroom. Also no need for two cable inputs like the tube amp model. This is a solid-state imitation of the Fender tube amp, but why not also add all the features of a great solid-state amp too? Just have one input guitar cable jack, and the clean channel should be able to add some effects (Reverb, Tremolo, Delay, etc.). Then with a simple amp button or floor switch button, it is just a click away from the distortion channel and effects can be also added there too. Fender puts out some great stuff, but they always seem to stop a little short and clip off things that players may want. I would love to see someone do a review and not sugar coat this expensive amp, so people will not be disappointed if they buy it. For example, the Katana series amps are far better and 1/2 the price with many options to use, to include the 4 things I mentioned above that are missing from the Fender Tone Master.
Hello and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you also! Thanks so much for checking out this video. Such a fun guitar to play. I have not played thru a fender tone master as yet. I am going to the NAMM show in a few weeks so I will see if they have one in the Fender booth. Sounds pretty cool. And please stay tuned as I have lots more killer content and lessons coming soon. And please subscribe to the channel. Take care and rock on! -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc.
I have a synyster custom and its a really nice guitar and plays great. Like Mark said its a bit of an annoyance because you wouldn't want to perform with it because its someone else signature guitar and just makes you look like a copycat.

Hi and thank you for watching this video most appreciated. You may want to look into it but I don't think u can get the guitar with the combo of sustainaic with a hardtail. You can NOT get that Sustainaic loaded guitar in a hardtail, sadly. WTF would they Not offer it in hardtail. Been wanting one for Years but they don't make em. SCHECTER...YA HEAR THAT??? OFFER THIS SAME GUITAR WITH A HARDTAIL!!
Hi Jordin and thanks so much for watching this video. Hope that u enjoyed it. I like the bridge pickup - its pretty good. I really like the neck pickup. But for this genre specific guitar I think Schecter did a really good job. The guitars plays and sounds really good - lot of fun. Take care and keep on rocking! -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc.
rockongoodpeople Haha. Thank you for answering. I've been wondering because I've been considering buying the bridge pickup for a punchy, heavy, crunchy, raw and almost percussive tone

I agree it's one of the best guitars I've ever been so lucky owning The C1 platinum Edition w sustainiac... which I had no idea it had that feature...wow what a wonderful surprise I must say.. but I have one serious question if anyone wants to help me with getting my axe back to when I purchased it...the electronics have been compromised...as in my friend borrowed it and when I recovered it from an almost HOSTAGE negotiation drama..my guitar was ruined some of the wires were not connected to the original factory location..does anyone have the wiring diagram to this model...I can't seem to figure it out...mine has 2 ..9 volt batteries in it...I miss those dive bombs with Sustainiac effect switched on...by far the Best guitar purchase I've done..I have owed Ibanez Jackson ESP ..etc..this is like he said THE LAMBORGHINI OF GUITARS....hey BTW great video

MY ONLY COMPLAINT IT THAT SCHECTER SHOULD HAVE MADE THE SUSTAINIAC SWITCH LIKE A 3-WAY TELE SWITCH. BECAUSE IN THE HEAT OF BATTLE, THE MINI TOGGLE WILL BREAK

How do you like it
Just bought the c-1 fr-s sls elite. Great guitars 🎸

Bummer the the 7 string doesn't work for you - live and learn, perhaps you can sell it on reverb and get your investment back or maybe on you local craigslist. Dont sweat it too much as we all make mistakes - consider it a learning experience and who knows - if you keep it maybe one day you will end up using it. I have found many 6 string schecters to be pretty well balanced for the most part. Not that I played every model in their line but the ones I played have all felt pretty good. My Red Reign will be here Monday!!

How's the neck pickup for soloing? That's really the deciding factor on if i do or don't get one
Don't forget the Tremolo-No your buddy Glen added to it as well.

Do it again I am buying one
Oh man, David! You've come a long way. Great review. Answered every question and good solid demo playing! I'm thinking I got the impression from the way you handled the guitar body and showed it thin edge on to the camera that it weighs and feels a lot like an SG. I'm right about that, eh? Anyway. thanks. Appreciate the efforts.
Hi Greg and thanks so much for your kind words - really means a lot to me and I appreciate it! SO glad that u liked this review. Its a really fun guitar. wait so the sustain thing is powered by a battery but how about the pickups themselves? are they active or passive?
Hi and thanks for watching this video. Love this guitar. Thinking this might make for a good starter guitar for me
Hi Joseph and this would be an amazing starter guitar - its a lot of guitar and its not in the starter guitar price being closer to a grand new but if you have it in the budget and u love this guitar then it may be worth considering. You can also start with something a little less money wise and work up to this guitar once you feel you have more a command of the style of music you want to play - all just suggestions - and thank u for checking out this video - so appreciated.

Did you use a noise gate pedal while recording this video?
Hi Igor and thank u for checking out this video. No, I did not use any type of noise gate or suppressor when filming this video. The signal chain was the Schecter guitar plugged straight into a PRS Archon 25 watt tube combo amp and on the lead channel with gain set at 75%, cabinet I had miked with a share SM57 microphone and the only effects were a splash of reverb and delay in the amp fx loop via a Keeley Caverns pedal - thats it - simple setup.
Fuckin SICK guitar
Can anyone please explain why does the neck pickup on clean (first demo set of the video) sounds so much hotter and louder than the bridge pickup, despite being a single coil?
Because this is a remixed, edited video. The guitar I tried which was properly set up, had appropriate levels between pickups. Hope this helped you.
@@greg4673 Cheers, that cleared it up for me.
i have this guitar but ,,why when i use sustainer all others strings not in use make a noise and vibration??is only my guitar or is really the sustainer system??
Gotta mute the strings you don’t want to ring the sustainer makes everything vibrate so gotta make sure you gotta mute the ones you don’t wanna ring
Yo do they sell this sus-pickups separately? Instead of buying a whole new guitar just to get the sus-pickup?

Please review an orange mk3 amp. I’m thinking about buying an amp for metal that can also play clean tones.

I dont think you can buy just an S without the FR ......meaning Cant buy this guitar WITHOUT the floyd but WITH the sustainiac.
Could you please review the V-1 FR Apocalypse Red Reign? I'm thinking about getting it and I'm trying to figure out if it's the right one for me.
It’s the same guitar besides the finish and the fret markers.

the agressive sounding is partly due to the amplification & playing style , Its a stylish guitar, not sure if its really agressive, just has a really good slightly dark style to it.

This or synyster gates custom s?
don't buy custom guitars that are VERY flashy like his. You'll regret it.
I have a synyster custom and its a really nice guitar and plays great. Like Mark said its a bit of an annoyance because you wouldn't want to perform with it because its someone else signature guitar and just makes you look like a copycat.

Only Phil Collen Steve Vai Synyster Gates and Joe Satriani should legally be allowed to play sustainiacs super annoying
MY ONLY COMPLAINT IT THAT SCHECTER SHOULD HAVE MADE THE SUSTAINIAC SWITCH LIKE A 3-WAY TELE SWITCH. BECAUSE IN THE HEAT OF BATTLE, THE MINI TOGGLE WILL BREAK
