Watts are joules per second, so it's already an 'over time' thing. Medium batteries hold 720 joules. At 6 watts, that would last 720÷6 seconds, or two minutes. Interestingly, microreactor cells recharge 12 joules per second, so I think one could run a jammer on high indefinitely.
@@nuisanceguru Yeah. 1kWh = 3,600,000 joules. Commonly used since you tend to have very large numbers when using joules IRL. Numbers are tiny in SS14 tho. (Seriously, 2 watts for a jammer??)
I was a thief the other day, got jammer and was doing my thief things, broke into cmos room to get thier cat, on the way out there was a syndi in a locker in maints, forgot jammer was on to cover any call outs, and welp. I could t tell sec I was being murdered in maints. Double edge swords are a real thing
This might be one of my favorite syndicate items. Allows stealthily killing, pairs nicely with quiet weapons and is cheap. I see myself using it for a syndie budget loadout.
Yeah, but does it work against tracker implanters? Like if whole command has tracker implant, will it notify sec upon their death if jammer was near the body?
The AI is in a very weird state right now, because there's no design doc, but when it will eventually arrive the problems with AI validhunting should be somewhat mitigated. As for servers, definitely no, that'd be too OP for 3 TC, and you can sabotage them anyways.
Does this affect the thief's item teleporter (the one that teleports the objs at end round) because i had the radio jammer right beside it and one of my objs was to steak the bible. I placed it right beside it and guaranteed no one saw me but at end round, it said i failed it. I appreciate the help!
Does Placing a Jammer at AI prevent AI chat? Useless info I know because if you can get to AI you should just get rid of it but for science we must know.
the AI is affected by comms going out and they speak on the radio just like a normal player by whispering so my initial guess is yes? but i am curious about the answer too, the radio jammer is just so rare i've never even seen it attempted to be used against me after tons of AI rounds
Big question though: does it stop pinpointers from finding the disk? Could I put a radio jammer and the Nuclear Auth disk inside of a storage implant, and trust that I won't be found out during evac?
Hey so Goobstation has unrestricted custom burger making, and it's deeply broken, I bug reported some serious problems with it because you can use it to pretty much instantly delete almost any item in the game if you can grab it and put it in a bottom bun in your inventory, you could put every gun in armory onto a few burgers, and you can't even deconstruct burgers so it's just gone gone
The radio jammer also prevents implants from sending their messages. This affects both the tracking implant and death rattle implant.
Yep. This is very useful for breaking from perma for "late game" plays.
This is *EXCELLENT* for cargo ordering
wattage per second hurts my physics soul, i'm sorry
I no good at math or numbers

Rate of increase of power.
The rate that the rate of increase of energy increase
hence kWh

Wait, does this mean a cargo tech can order guns WITHOUT alerting their entire department?
yes
You can also emag the computer and it will do the same with
Radio Jammer my beloved

Does it also block tracker inplants?
Yes, security wont get the message of the person going crit
yes
If you kill them, and the jammer stops afterwards, does the alert go out then? Or does the alert never go out
Yeah, but does it work against tracker implanters? Like if whole command has tracker implant, will it notify sec upon their death if jammer was near the body?
I would recommend checking Armok's video : "something is taking the people" to see it used to it's fullest potential
it blocks tracking implants
Correction: tracker implants, not implanters. Implanter is what you would use to get the implant inside your body. Sorry for being a nerd.
Do you think Radio Jammer should block AI cams and block servers when in range? I could try to cook up PR.
Radio, not video
And maybe cams are connected via cable, so it shouldnt
i think a seperate item should interfere with the ai.

@@noelka8134 Is that OP? You can sabotage them anyway, you need to be in range AND it will last only till battery is out.
@insolencePL it's OP because it works through walls, and at the same time it's useless because you can just cut the power
Btw the emag blocks the cargo messages and lets anyone aprove it
deja vu
why
does radio jammer block cameras from being seen by AI/sec?

@@WordUser AIs don't have an earpiece, though. I could see how the code would work differently for them.

neat. sadly I am not a good antag, only a good Jani.
you probably get this asked a lot, but do you have any plans on an SM tutorial?

Why are you mentioning this here lol
thanks i will try this very soon
The item would be worth the crystals spent if it blocked the CCTV cameras too
New-clear; not 'new-kyoo-lurr'.
@@FelixHelix I'm not saying new clear
