Bummer that it’s been such a disaster. I thought they were hiring him to move the brand into a more forward looking directions but it seems he’s doing the opposite. They probably just wanted the name. Oh well, it’s not like there’s nothing else to wear.
I personally am not impressed with any of the Dior Prive releases under Francis Kurkdijan, he's ruined so many beautiful creations from Francois and discontinuing so many beautiful scents like Dioramour, Diorissima, and the possibility of discontinuing The Cachmiere (if it has already, I'm unsure.)
Noses are very interesting, I personally don’t get the grand soir connection but then again yeah like I said noses do different things not all noses are the same. 😀
When I received a sample of Bois Talisman I immediately thought of By the Fireplace. I like By the Fireplace, I have a 10ml bottle of it and that’s enough for me. It’s a nice fragrance from Dior, disappointing effort though. It’s nothing new or unique and with the new bottles/prices I can’t see myself buying it.
Hi Sebastian - thanks for the review and the recent views on Dior. Do you have any thoughts on the esprit ambre de parfum of ambre unit? I got a sample and quite liked it, but I'm not overly familiar with the original (although have tried and liked in the distant past).
Ever since I smelled Forté & 2025 Dior testers. I lost interest. I thought having a reputable perfumer would change the game. Dior is sketchy for me as of now.
Dior has been horrendous with it's recent releases and the price hikes are absurd. I'll let obnoxiously rich people with no taste enjoy flaunting their newer offerings.
Well, Sebastian is not happy - and for good reason... the Dior Homme reimagining was already a big issue. I got my nose on Bois Talisman a little while ago at Selfridges. I was already a bit perplexed in advance - because the note breakdown seemed very... limited - and with so few notes - one of the few - is sugar? On the nose, it was... unremarkable. A privee - unremarkable? Why - whats the idea here? My first thought was "good for layering" - but it should be more than that
I tried it. Extremely disappointing. No real projection. Poor sillage. It's really more of a skin scent. Reminds me of an even lighter version of Ferderic Malle's Dries Van Noten (if that's even possible). This would have been poor value if it was just a low-tier designer fragrance. But as a Privée scent, it's simply not good enough.
I hope everyone knows cedarwood oil (Virginian, Texan) is absolutely dirt cheap, and most of the cedar materials like Cedramber, Cedroxyde, cedryl acetate, cedrol... Even the cedarwood super rect from Firmenich which has the most top note impact is dirt cheap. And then vanillin, ethyl vanillin, ethyl maltol, cheap. Bland fragrance with cheap materials.
@@ThePerfumeGuy Well yeah, collectors with collections like yours. I'm a collector who's been collecting and I'm not so worried about that, but it is what it is. Thanks again for your reviews!
Mr Demachy left taking all the class from this line 🥺 Mr MFK did what he could to kill the privde line best scents and now he produces medicore, nothing-special scents and making all kinds of mistakes in marketing 😢 someone please fire this guy, so he can go back to his own brand 🙏 pleaseeee…..
I keep smelling and testing this at Gallery La faillette and Dior boutiques testing on my wrist .. it just doesn’t do it for me! Disappointed because this should be my type of scent.
So you’re saying that frag heads do not go through bottles because they are frag heads? look I went through four bottles of almost 80 mL juice in each bottle of Jusbox 54! That’s almost 400 mL of perfume in less than six months!
@ThePerfumeGuy thanks for the reply, not saying it's not possible, but because they have so many bottles, its going to be harder to finish one fragrance bottle all the way. I'm a fraghead, the only fragrance I ever finished was a 200 ml of LV imagination.

The kids at the marketing, and research department are wrecking the house of Dior.
My wallet is happy.
We have a front row seat to the execution of a pillar in the fragrance industry.
Francois Demachy is missing that’s what’s wrong with Dior .
Indie brands are having a moment. I am going to support them going forward. These big brands are just not cutting it.
Hi Sebastian. Thanks for your honest and hard work it’s inspiring.🎉
Yes plastic. Ambre nuit and vanilla diorrama favourite and that’s where I’m finishing buying from dior till I see a change
Both my favorite as well.
Never thought I would be missing Demachy this badly!

Kim Jones has resigned his post as Dior's creative director in the past few days.

when I smelled it, it reminded me of Grand Soir

@@victorashul similar family for sure
@@zaranewfield-ramirez4280 honestly (because Sebastien talked about this) I find Grand Soir a little less sweet, more powdery and surely more elegant
Sounds like Oud Rosewood when you say “it doesn’t smell luxurious or expensive.” I got the same vibe from that one. Smells pedestrian
I'll have to try this one, sounds nice.
I hope you end up liking it

I smelled this at the Dior boutique a week or two back in vegas
Did you like it?
And?
@Arthur_Sleep 😂
I completely agree with you! Lately, I've been loving a more sophisticated choice-Noir Exquis by L'Artisan Parfumeur.
I like it 😊 your all season 😍😍😍
That’s good. It’s OK not exciting. Kind of boring and synthetic smelling to me.
Mr. KURKJIAN is not doing a good job at all in my opinion.
Dior Homme Parfum has been completely wrecked to start...

Thank you, Sebastian. I sampled this at Harrods in mid-January---pleasant but nothing to rave about... Certainly overpriced.
Ever since I smelled Forté & 2025 Dior testers. I lost interest. I thought having a reputable perfumer would change the game. Dior is sketchy for me as of now.
Captain Kirk strikes again!
I just cannot understand why they would get rid of things like Feve and Santal Noir. Why stop making things that are already excellent?
Dior has been horrendous with it's recent releases and the price hikes are absurd. I'll let obnoxiously rich people with no taste enjoy flaunting their newer offerings.
Well thanks again, this will be a pass for me, I have BTF and several in the same wheelhouse. Rest in peace Dior 😢

I stopped collecting because the size of the bottles is different.😡
Disappointing
The size is a problem for me.

Yeah, it’s a bummer. I don’t get the DVN connection though I’ll have to double check that and compare them side-by-side.
@@ThePerfumeGuy It's the pencil shavings thing.
The van Noten is far more interesting, it's a sandalwood made creamy with sulfurol.

Thanks for this Sebastian! I wonder how many others are going to be concerned with how a 200ml bottle looks lined up with 250ml bottles lol.
Any collector who’s been collecting? These is concerned about the fact that the size is different now!

Exactly. This is exactly my type of fragrance.
Not Bois Talisman. But because of this, I'm reminded of New Look. That one has grown on me and it's only now I'm seeing that it's genious!
Francis K is a wildly overrated perfumer who's been exposed.
Dior slipping badly.
Very disappointing and nothing special
No body ever goes through a 200ml bottle if they are fraghead, also if your buying luxury products, you most likely should be somewhat what we'll off.

Your OCD on full display
So if you have things on display and prefer to have them look uniform that's OCD? 😑 It's ironic that it bothers you. 🤣
It is funny to see you complain. Your privileged, first-world problems are hilarious.
So it’s privileged for you to complain as well about me complaining? Is that your first world problem?
