Thanks for the breakdown on starting with a "walk through" before actually jumping. Im terrified of rocking forward onto my toe and this breakdown looks easy to practice on the penalty box wall to get a good feel for that movement before attempting it away from the way. Yay for the rest of you also starting at 40 plus yrs old! Im 5 months in and cant take my eyes off of going to Germany. But baby steps first! God bless!
@@ShellySkates I just passed Basic 5 and the one element I struggled sometimes with was inside three turns (going clockwise direction -aka on the right skating leg). However, the counter clockwise direction (left skating leg) was much easier for me. I think I am more coordinated in general skating on my left leg. I am suspecting that the forward outside three turn may be a similar struggle. I think it is my lack of confidence getting onto the outside edge with my right leg. I'm sure it has something to do with body position I am doing wrong or inconsistently.
@@deesterdee6650 When it comes to the three turns, you will notice that one side is more comfortable than the other. I struggled with that too! Maybe I should do a 3 turn video sometime soon!
@@ShellySkates Thanks for the encouragement. :) 3 turns would be awesome, particularly the body position and blade details :) I enjoy watching your videos. 🤗 What would be so cool is to have a sequence of basic moves that flow together so we can enjoy the elegance of skating vs just always practicing one element at a time. It is great practicing moves but I think it would be so fun to put several moves together in an elegant way - just to simply enjoy skating to music. I've never seen anyone teach that on RUclips. Thanks for all you do on RUclips. You have such a fun job!

thank you! I am struggling with waltz jump as the kick through is scaring me and I find myself with not enough power from the free leg.
