I bought 20000 Days on Earth and would honestly say it is one of the most important music docufilm of this century. Nick Cave has transcended being a "Rock Star" into a sublime genius. To watch words and music come together into incredible songs is a privilege we all should be exposed to. He is an incredible human being and a unique musician.

I can say this without any angle or personal attachment that Grinderman is the most exciting, raw and different sound I've heard ever. I can only hope he does more with his 'side project' in the future. Get It On!

I actually went to Roskilde festival and I saw that Grinderman was playing on the main stage. Had no idea who they were but I decided to go see them and they were one of the most awesome bands there :D
I was the last to see them live!

If only people our age could rock this hard. This generation is in need of bands like this. If only as an alternative to everything being 80's Revivalist/Club orientated now in terms of soundscape, and not even the imaginative side of those genres. Even guitar based stuf at the moment I feel lacks a certain rawness. It's a shame really. I'm sure there'll be a sea change eventually. There has to be. Still, love this performance.
You can't beat a band with bass, guitar, drums. Adding electronica doesn't make it better if you don't know how to write a song - and there's anyway only two kinds of music: the Blues and zippety doo-dah (as Townes van Zandt said).

Yeah, at the NYC launch of 20,000 Days on Earth in Sept. an audience member asked him if he had plans to continue Grinderman. He basically said that's done with. Bummer as I missed out on any Grinderman show :(
