Hey Sarah. If you are a huge Skynyrd fan you should really hear the album "The Southern Rock Opera" by the Drive- By Truckers from 2001. It's a double album they did that weaves the story of Lynyrd Skynyrd and their infamous plane crash with Southern mythology. It's a freakin' masterpiece and any Skynyrd fan should hear it
Hit the Lights is Kirk Hammett greatest solo for me. I'm with a Guitarist who can play that solo front to back and we always play Hit the Lights at the beginning of my Banda gig and it's always such an amazing song you see many people at awe playing that song.
Didn't know how this would be received by you. This is their most raw album. I'd consider their first 3 albums as thrash metal . I started listening to them in 1984. Metallica on this album was James Hetfield on vocal and rhythm guitar, Lars Ulrich - percussion, Cliff Burton - Bass, Kirk Hammett on lead guitar. Kirk Hammett got guitar lessons from Joe Satriani. The second song, The Four Horsemen, was also co-written by Dave Mustaine who was kicked out of the band. He has a song very similar to The Four Horsemen that is called Mechanix. Mustaine is the founder of Megadeth. Enjoy the Metallica ride Sarah.
@@metalmark1214 I'm a big of fan of Cliff I'm a bassist myself but when I listen to ajfa i don't notice missing bass the eq in the guitars Is full of bass so It complements the lack
@@eazye519 It's all opinion and preference. You do know music is subjective, at least I hope you do. I have metal head friends that won't listen to anything past Master of Puppets.
I grew up in the 80s/90s listening to these albums in my bedroom, just like you are now. It always amazed me how much they changed their sound over the years (less punk type screaming etc) without losing the original Metallica sound. Enjoy your journey 😉
So I you'd a few people this already but when we get to the middle towards the end of the 2nd album, depending how it is going, will decide if we squeeze in that album or not.
Kameron Waddell Bulshit , they take a good riff add amazing lyrics add a killer middle part , divided the song not four , add killer guitar solo and wipe your face in it!!!!
@@SarahraeLivingLife Only once at The Mabuhay Gardens in SF right before they played Day on the Green in 1985..I was there. They also played at Ruthies Inn as Kill em All
👍👍👍👍👍 Great reaction and good songs too. There's a good band that I know you haven't heard of, at least I don't think you haved Anyway this one I'm talking about is called zahna, all their songs are good
If you watched the video, you will have heard me talk about how I do. How I listen 2 times with the 2nd being with the lyrics to do just that and then decide what I believe that song is about.
The Four Horseman was the first song they wrote with the subtle dynamics that became so much a part of their next few albums.
LONG LIVE METALLICA...🤘🏼😛🤘🏼💥💥💥
You understood the meaning of the songs immediately! Nice reaction, thank you! 🤘🏻
I love analyzing music and songs so glad I could.

It was the greatest solo for me too until they released Ride the Lightning and I heard the solo in Fight Fire with Fire. That solo is amazing imo.

Ok so you don't consider and Justice for all a tharsh metal literally their best and heaviest album ok I know it's subjective but come on
@@samuele.celotti999 It's all subjective isn't. It has it's moments of thrash elements on And Justice For All. Not the same without Cliff though.

@@metalmark1214 don't be stupid. And justice for all is their best album from top to bottom.

The Four Horsemen is possibly the best Metallica song ever.
I grew up in the 80s/90s listening to these albums in my bedroom, just like you are now. It always amazed me how much they changed their sound over the years (less punk type screaming etc) without losing the original Metallica sound. Enjoy your journey 😉
Kill em all sigue siendo una de las mejores joyas que hay del metal, cada vez que vuelvo al álbum después de mucho tiempo es increíble.
Saludos
I highly HIGHLY recommend...And justice for all

Yeah, you're right. The slow part of this song was very inspired by sweet home alabama of lynyrd skynyrd
Two amazing songs, and to think how young they were when writing that masterpiece.
They only wrote hit the lights
Kameron Waddell Bulshit , they take a good riff add amazing lyrics add a killer middle part , divided the song not four , add killer guitar solo and wipe your face in it!!!!
This album blew my fucking head off in 83
One of my favorites!......ohhhh yurrrrr!!
Metallica back in the day, would play at small venues in the bay area under the name as The Horsemen
Interesting. That is cool. Thank you for that.

Holy shit. You got the Lynyrd Skynyrd reference!
Of course. Skynyrd is my favorite band. Ronnie van Zant is an idol of mine and I even have a tattoo in honor of him so definitely haha. :)
The Four Horsemen:
1) Time
2) Famine
3) Pestilence
4) Death
Now you're talking old school thrash!!!
👍👍👍👍👍
Great reaction and good songs too.
There's a good band that I know you haven't heard of, at least I don't think you haved
Anyway this one I'm talking about is called

Good choices for Part 1.
Metallica always
Thank you Dave Mustaine.
For helping write 4 songs
Metalllica!!!!!!
Should add Justice and just do their first 5
Thank you:) the more I am told I think we will.
Raw is good. Kill em all is good. Nirvana bleach is good. Pixies Surfer Rosa is good
Everything sounds great but unpopular opinion I am not big on nirvana. Haha stay well. Much love.
You have to pay attention to the lyrics
