I had no idea how cool it would be to be shouted out, but that was really cool. Thank you! I got my first T yesterday, a G. Pulchra/Quirogai from Fear Not after a year of research and deciding which T to get. Not gonna lie, Shadow and Salem totally sealed the deal for me. They're so beautiful and funny! Thank you for your Channel and the inspiration! There's not enough women Tarantula RUclipsrs and I really appreciate you.
congratulations, G pulchra are literally one of the absolute best species to keep. Good luck on your tarantula journey and if you ever need help definitely feel free to message me on Patreon
tarantula kat thanks!!!
@@tarantulakat Typing error 2x Grammostola pulchripes not pulchra but i agree I want to grab 2 pulchra slings but they are expensive on my end of the world. I appreciate your previous reply.
Arianna Kenyon why you don't use real plant??? Btw I hate fake plant,..
tarantula kat I live in NZ so we have some wild spiders, but not too many. Little jumpers and others. I want to try keeping one, but my slight arachnophobia gets in the way lol 😂. Scared, well unnerved by jumpers hehe
Hanging out in my opinion is a tarantula that feels safe enough not to hide. :) cheers from canada!
Absolutely! A lazy tarantula is a happy tarantula 😆
I always thought a hiding tarantuala is a happy tarantula
@@rebecca8410 we wouldn't know 😂 all we can do is assume.
@@rebecca8410 It's kind of both; a tarantula with a hide for the occasion when they aren't in an extroverted hangout mood is also a happy tarantula.
I'm not really into this hobby, but I've been watching these type of videos because they are entertaining and just chill to watch. Thanks!
that avicularia is so chill! Its like clean my house peasant!!! LOL
All my enclosures....all have "special" rocks in them (usually a cool rock from my kids.). I look at it like a good luck charm for my terrestrial octopods😃. Good video Kat.
i have crystals in all my reptile/spider enclosures :)
I’m scared of spiders but I love looking at these videos bc these spiders are actually really cute. You and exotic lairs videos really help me appreciate these babies way more than I normally would! Thank you 😊
im having a ballistic quarantine meltdown and this made me feel a bit better, getting my first tarantula this weekend 🤧
relatable
Good luck I just wanted 1 n now I have 8 lol
I remember I only needed one... that one turned in 50
We started with one and it tuned into 21. I love all of them, but particularly our B. hamorii, Adelaide, our mature male avic avic, Princess Pinky Toes... I just realized I am partial to all of them lol!
great makeovers! 😎👍🏼
I've enjoyed watching how you spruce up and redesign your tarantula enclosures and how carefully you handle each of your tarantulas when you need to move them into or out of an enclosure. Also your observations of how a tarantula behaves and uses the space you provide them with, each one of your videos is a great lesson!
Glad to see mine aren't the only ones that don't appreciate their hides and starter burrows.
My avic was chill too when I cleaned his. I keep the same enclosure for mine too. I put some bamboo in it and he seems to love it. They’re just like “oh, yo thanks” 😂 theyre so chill
The super chill go-with-the-flow vibes of an avic are goals!
Mine barely reacts to light touches if at all when I need to do something in her enclosure. Of course this means I can't book her paws or butt to get her to scooch out of the way if I need to, but it makes her the perfect tarantula to show to others to help them get over their fear of giant spiders.
Love your videos! Been watching them for 50+ days since I started collecting my t’s and I still haven’t ran out of videos! So thank you!
I love how attentive you are! It's easy to see how much you love and care about your pets ❤️🕷️
This video was a great idea, I could watch tarantula home makeovers all day, definitely make more doing this!
They’re so sweet. It’s beautiful to watch how good you are with them.
I’m not the biggest fan of spiders but watching your videos really help my anxiety. You just have such a calm vibe to you, I love it.
You and dark den made me buy my first T a few weeks ago... the second one is already in the post on its way to me😂
How's the hobby one year in ? Started two weeks ago 🤣
@@fuzzy_mates.christopher.8129 I currently have 9 tarantulas and even a few praying mantis’😅 Welcome to the club! Some of my babies have put on some decent size it’s so rewarding seeing them grow!
@@HazardNP That's great to hear, awesome 👌. Thanks for the reply man 😎
@@fuzzy_mates.christopher.8129 no problem, mind me asking what T’s you’ve got so far?
@@HazardNP 1cm Nhandu Chromatus sling
2cm Lasiodora Parahybana sling
1cm Pterinopelma Sazimai sling,
SUB adult female Neoholothele Incei & lastly a Juvenile Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens 😊
What about yourself ?
Your videos are very great, keep publishing the videos, I support you 💜
I’m thinking of getting my first tarantula. I enjoy your vids!
The enclosures are way better now, but I think they aren't going to last for too long in that state lol especially the Avicularia avicularia's one.
I love that your intro music always makes me think of the movie Hocus Pocus.
IKR?! Hocus Pocus is amazing, the intro makes me think of Beetlejuice
after listening to the intro again, it almost sounds like the liongate intro but not, lol.... this is going to drive me crazy lol
Yes yes please do a crystals video that would so cool
I love the names you pick for your tarantulas loved this video 🕷💗🕷
TBh I was dying during the hanging out comment well done 👏
This was a nice video. Thank you for sharing.
I’m watching these types of vids to get over my fear of spiders. Just have to say that your spiders seem very laidback.
It's funny to see how your T. vagans acts. Mine also refuses to burrow, but kinda uses the moss in her enclosure as a sort of blanket when she wants to hide.
She's got a perfecte good hide and substrate to dig in, but nope, all she wants is a mossy blanket.
Avic Avic is my absolute favorite- they are the sweetest little “fuzzers” (Petkoism). They’re always like “Henlo! Oh. Move there? Kay. Think I’ll jump now ::wigglebutt:: EHN! I’m sure you’re a nice squish-tree, but your leaf tubes are doin me a scare 😢💩”
my t vagans doesnt burrow either it did as a sling and juvie but not since. it doesnt use its hide either I gave it a cork bark arch big enough to hide under but it sits on topve it 😅
I love your harry potteresque opening music lol yes please do a crystal video. i just got my first piece of meteorite from South America! I'm also a crystal/rock lover lol
xoxo love from Maryland
Awesome video I love the way they look keep making awesome videos ✌️💖😄
I'm about to attempt my avic avic house tonight. He's also a pretty chill dude. I'm just assuming until he finally molts based off a attempted ventricle guess.
Kat, you’re a badass 🤘🏼 love the video !
I love your sound effects for the tarantulas 😂
that hide was probably too small for your first T and that's why she didn't go into it, my arizona blonde is super stubborn like that as well! she would NEVER go into her cork bark hide because it was too small, i gave her a bigger one and there was a tunnel to the bottom from the hide within the next week! just a thought
I have a T. Sabulosom which really similar to the T. Vagan. I got her as a juvenile she loves to burrow. I had done some research and they will burrow a lot as a sling and juvenile but will prefer to be out in the open as adults. my T. can be moody at times to lol.
I recently did this same video too haha, sometimes you give a tarantula what you think it wants then it just ends up so bland and bleh. The remodels look really good! I had an OBT that webbed the entire enclosure up and pushed away all my decor to the bottom side under his web completely ignoring it all. Gave him a blank canvas of a cage so he could totally model it to his web tunnel desires and he went under the tiniest bit of cork bark, the only thing in there, shut himself in and never came out. Sat looking at a empty box of dirt for a few weeks before adding a cork round and skull just to please myself lol. He still hasn't come out to use anything or web... typical!
You seem so fun kat lol, I want to look at your whole collection ☺️
second tarantula needs one of those suction fish that swims up to the glass and licks the walls clean.
I'm not sure that tarantula shit is a menu item for sucker fish.......
Really liked the changes :)
Love your videos
Your vagans could use a larger enclosure with some more "furnishings". Probly past the burrowing stage
Imagine that small box being your life
It's so hard with the picky T's. I know in nature they goldilocks until they find the perfect dwelling. All we can do is guess based on husbandry advice but these fur babies have their own personality.
You my friend are a awesome person!!!!!!!
Tarantulas are awesome!! I really want one! 🕷🕷🕷🕷
Like the improvements, but I prefer leaf litter over the fake plants. They don’t look as nice imo but I love the rocks!
I agree with you. I just ordered some lol
I might Need to redo two of my zebra legs enclosures.... but having to get them out is a pain
Have the same issue with my vagans. Never goes inside the hide. Just always chilling outside.
This channel is slowly curing me from my spider phobia! Thanks 😄
I watched the Avic closely because I've got a Avic Metallica coming in. It's about 1.5". So I'll finally have an arboreal T. It's even made me wonder why I live on the ground when I could be living in a tree.
Most species of tarantula/baboon spider won't dig another burrow if they are taken out of it if they are mature. Baboons web alot when they get removed from the burrow but most new worlds will just wander around!👌🕷🌱
Shows rocks
Me:mhmm yes rocks
"My favorite rock "
Me: Nice rock
Hahaha that's the worse when you make an awesome setup and hide for your t and they burrow so we here else or something. My vagans doesn't burrow either. I made a starter hide and it just does half way in(as far as I pre made it). She is about the same size as yours.
I had that same ExoTerra hide for our T albo. She would only sit on top…didn’t see her use it properly once. The entry looks way too small.
I'm gonna buy me a Pumkin Patch Tarantula. Can't wait!
I was laughing out loud with that edited sound of hair kicking xD
Rip headphone users
I'm on my 1st T and I haven't had it very long. I got an Aphonopelma Seemanni and I was warned that they will dig a borrow and disappear for months at a time, but I put a skull hide in there that I half buried, and it only spends about half the time in there and the other half roaming around the enclosure or stuck to the wall. I thought maybe I didn't put enough substrate in there, I only had about 3" but I added more and nothing changed... My T is a juvenile (about 2.75") if that makes a difference.
one of my seemani doesn’t burrow much and is set up identical to the others I keep that too. I guess some tarantulas r just weird lol
i like your vids they are perfect!
That one toe up was her version of giving you the middle finger 😆
Fab vid kat
This is so cool, thank you!
Can you please do a video on housing tarantulas? What size for what tarantula? Thanks!
She's obviously planning her escape for a while lol 😆
What's the pros on jungle mix vs coco fibre?
Also does it come in a pre made bag like that ? Iv only seen compressed bricks 🤔
grammostola's I have 4x porteri 2x rosea and 2 pulchripes most of them frequently visit the sides and the roof of the containers I've experimented gave them more space, tad more moist substrate bone dry substrate more hides various sizes after lager hides they now "sit? / park" outside the hides interesting lol.
I hope they like there new accessories
Greetings from Philippines 🤗 I'm a big fan 😍❣️
Great video
The 1 dislike was the sassy brachypelma
Millenpopille nah that’s just her alter ego she told me she prefers brachypelma
I find my Vagans very hard to read. She went underground for 3 months and has now come up and destroyed her old burrow. Now she has webbed up a corner like crazy and just seems glued to the spot...wondering if she goijg to moult. X
love it
I have no idea of tarantulas but I do know that based off other RUclipses most tarantulas like damp vibes which I’m sure you know but coconut fiber is basically garbage for them if not mixed
My pink toe died last year but she was always so hyper when being moved she would dart all the time
46.6k great job kat
My G porteri has recently decided she's going to make a burrow for the first time in the 18 years I've had her 🤷🏻♂️
The problem is, this time I've given her a nice piece of flat rock which she has dug all of the dirt from underneath. Like complete overkill. So now the rock is sitting on like 1cm of dirty on either side and could fall on her so I've got to take it out 😕
Lol, she's like surprise bi**h, I'm doing this now.
That's hilarious 🤣 18 years 👏😮

Hey kat. Long time subscriber. Never spoke up. My 19 year old female porteri loves her Zilla corner basking platform. Single pillar in corner of enclosure. Tape cardboard over other 2 sides for observation flaps. Wide mouth entrance. Wish could post pics on RUclips comments. My girl is around 8 inch leg span.
You now I like to hunt for spiders around my house.
are u using just water to clean off the avic's poop? thats what i do with mine
Hey Kat, I just got my first T about 2 weeks ago, chromatopelma cyaneopubescens. (S)he's a juvenile, and we love her! I'm not sure I have the best enclosure setup. She spends a lot of time around the top of the enclosure. Could I send you pics of the setup for some advise? Thanks! Love your channel
How often do I feed my tarantula? And how often should I change substrate?
Hi Kat, Our T. vegans, Evil Amelia, has a very similar attitude! She likes to climb as well. We gave her a coconut hide and she loves it! Who'd a thunk! :)
How do you not have more subs?
2 comment hi kat you are so cool girl You always make amazing videos Love seeing the tarantula collection You always inspire me everyday hopefully I'm going to buy a tarantula 💯👍
Haha 4:43 sound effect 😁 mine is same, just hangs out on top corner of cage, lame.
Hey, I’m planning on getting my first T the one I found at my local pet store is a Aphonopelma seemanni and it’s matured is this a good beginner T
I love watching your channel...power to the women kat lol
Hi - question ... I noticed that many of your spiders have quite small enclosures (and also the other channels I watch) - do they not like having a larger place to run around in or do they feel safer in smaller cages? Thank you and love the channel !!
Pretty much, yes, they feel more secure in what we would consider a too small space. Generally, anyway. There are always exceptions, but, from what I've seen and read, exceptions seem to usually be on an individual spider level rather than a species wide level. (Anyone more knowledgeable please feel free to correct me if I've forgotten any species exceptions.)
A few really experienced keepers have talked about how they had a T acting unusually, often after a rehouse or when they first get them (a great eater gone off food, or one acting crazily defensive, ect) so they moved them to a smaller enclosure and suddenly got the more natural behaviours of a secure-feeling tarantula.
I guess in the wild they find or make a safe home and don't go far from it (other than mature males looking for mates, of course). 🤷♀️
@@dorabrooks76 Interesting, thanks Dora!
@@mafi8360 You're quite welcome. I glad you found it interesting, too. ☺
grettings from Poland
I would like to try my hand at having a trancula.. im a newbie and would like to know which one I would be best getting and what I need to do???
Nice job
im getting an aponapelma seemanni is it a good begginer one?
a lil fast and shy but not too difficult to keep. they do like it a bit more damp though, but are generally hardy and very long lived
it will bury its water bowl 😄
I would suggest another if you're interested in handling it at some point
And they like to dig. They are more what we used to call obligate burrower, meaning they may use a hide but they like to dig a deep vertical burrow.
Yeah def fast n ppl say they've gotten tagged by them but they look neat and really go for their prey, pretty cool to watch. Mine don't kick hairs ever but still a little spicy, I wouldn't try to hold them.
I collect rocks everywhere I got I walk too slow staring at the ground so much I piss everyone else off like Sarah wtf are you doing? Rocks again? And I get soooo exited when I find some I like. People think I am so weird.
Makes me want to look at more rocks 🤔
🕷️Jajaja WTF this stones for watt and with one corcho is good is very small space for the tarántula no very bad girl but very nice spiders saludos T. Kat 😎🕷️
That water dish looks very big for the floor area
Where can you get jungle mix? I can’t find it.
can you give me an advice my cyaneopubescens just shed and I really want to get the skin out but she is really protective and I dont want to destroy her enclosure
5:36 does anyone know what this tank is called or have a link for it?
I wish i could get a tarantula but my dad wont let me but if i could i would get a caribena versicolor
I really want a caribena versicolor or an avicularia avicularia too. I have an aphonopelma seemanni which I got a few weeks ago and I ended up ordering a few more slings online that I should get next week but those two are absolutely beautiful.
The chain pet store (Petsmart) by my house had an avicularia avicularia but they had it in a critter keeper and it had a terrestrial set up. I felt a little sad and almost caved but, I just don't feel ready for an arboreal species quite yet and I didn't want to encourage the pet store to just replace it. Something about the arboreal ones makes me a little nervous like I'm not ready yet. They are a lot faster and might jump out of the enclosure.
Don't be too sad about it because eventually when you move out you should be able to get one if that's what you really want.
