I feel your pain, I didn't main IG in World but I enjoyed the aerial style so much when I played it, maybe if the fans and IG mains complain enough they add aerial style back in DLC.
they did show off palico armour in one stream on the capcom germany channel, in live streams the one called "Monster Hunter Wilds Spotlight: Ausrüstung" and at 7:33:27 you'll see them going through palico equipment
02:29 hunting horn has the "Offset Melody" which will topple the monster if you time it correct. it can be seen in the weapon trailer and during the livestream its pop up came a few times. like here, in 02:33
To me they just killed the Insect Glaive, I reallt enjoyed how playing aerial style was different from all other weapons even if it wasn't the most effiecent way to play IG. Guess that's one weapon I won't be touching in Wilds, hopefully they fix this mistake in the DLC or something, but until then I'm not wasting time on an IG with clipped wings.
@@yourunclejohn984 I hear you. I actually don't play for DPS as well, I play for explosions, am a GL main, which is like the worst weapon if we're to talk about DPS as of late. I'm just saying you guys are overlooking the other changes they've given you for new fun, see your kinsect follows the same attack route as your hunter now, it looks like you guys are more IG than before now having more symbiosis with the beetle
Unfortunately there's only the smallest bit of hunting horn footage, none with even half of what we saw in the showcase... Content creators picked weapons that were requested or popular with their communities. Even self proclaimed hunting horn mains didn't really use it. Unless Uno got invited to play and got footage we'll have to wait for the next demo to maybe get more information.
Look up KPlaysHere if you haven't already, he has been organising what HH information does exist, and there is actually quite a bit. Obviously Horn is still at an information disadvantage because of unpopularity & its complexity meaning the people who did showcase it didn't do the best job, but there is a fair bit we know, eg: -Double note slam can now stock 2 notes -Up to 3 echo bubbles can be placed at once for the buffs within them to not be too bad to maintain -HH's focus attack is essentially Earthshaker from Rise, but with a very different effect. If it successfully hits a wound you can, with proper timing, input up to 5 notes into your queue, so you can slam out a full stack of songs to perform if you cash in a wound to do it -The quick "side slap" during a performance is how you move through the other songs in your queue to play multiple in one performance, as opposed to doing nothing which was the system in World -There appears to be a new song category called "Special Performances" that the Offset Melody the HH in the demo has falls into, that serves as a unique attack animation. The big sonic smash in the showcase is presumably the Special Performance of the bone horn, which wasn't the HH given out for the Gamescom demo, explaining why it's MIA -Might be a false alarm, but the gamescom showcase player appears to do a backslam as a draw attack, so seemingly drawing into any note attack will be possible -The spinning crush from Rise returns, but is now a double note attack that can only be done as a follow up from the regular double note slam
I hope its just a bug that insect dont bounces of monster after aerial attack as as well gunlance dont lose sharpnes whn shelling so there is possibility that its just early "demo" set
As an Insect Glaive main in 4U and WorldBorne I'm actually kinda happy aerial glaive is dead. The aerial playstyle is fun but really infective. I remember hunts lasted 30 plus minutes in base World because I didn't know any better. After switching to a grounded playstyle with aerial as an evasive maneuver that also does some damage my hunts never got over 20 mins. I feel like Capcom is just pointing players in the right direction but did so in the one of the worst ways in taking something from the weapon. Still, I'm excited for Insect Glaive but I think I'm the only one excited for the weapon
its so stupid what they did to IG, if its not gonna continuously attack through the air at least make it more like MHGU's IG aerial attacks instead of an unfinished animation. i expect this kind of stunt from the gunlance lol.
I really can't tell from these videos but do you know if hunting horn plays like world or rise? I really love hunting horn in world and iceborne made it better and I don't like what they did to it in rise, they made it too simple use to make it more appealing for everybody.
To be fair IG DPS output has always been better on the ground anyways, it's just for some reason most IG players prefer to fly around in the sky doing suboptimal attacks on weird hitboxes instead of focusing on actual weakpoints, my blood brother is similarly stubborn about this fact.
Because it so much more fun to play aerial style ffs, it's what games are for ... FUN, it's not a day job buddy!!! I hate it so much when people optimize the fun out of games and treat it as if it's a boring ass job with target goals, growth projections and pie charts everywhere 😅
@@AscendantStoic I understand my brother does it for fun too. I myself don't actually really care about IG nor am I a speedruneer myself trying to minmax everything, but you wanna have fun go ahead but do it safe, it's annoying as hell when people cart while flying around when they can be playing it a lil safer, they get innate flinch free too, so it's not like a monster can just swat the player off the sky and the dude might survive, instead he can be hit multiple times and cause him to faint.
@AscendantStoic everyone has their opinion on what's fun, or funner and what the best playstyle is, be that brain dead mayhem or Precise attention and effectiveness of its utilities. Mh is a fun and can be chill game, but as a multi-player that gets harder and harder, and requires teamwork alot of time, alot of peeps do think that this was for the best, because it's like a double edged blade, it's fun.. but, makes hunts longer than needed and can cause defeat if someone is careless.. idk.. I do feel bad for the people that love doing it.. but, at the same time.. I've always seen it as it's false identity to what it actually is meant to be and do. I think capcom is trying to show that. And.. I have had alot of people cause my quests to fail by playing like that.. Just because we're passionate and care about being effective doesn't make it a job and ruin the fun.. we like to not lose, thats not fun 😅
@@weshagler642 the two downward thrust attacks look good, and based on the damage numbers it got buffed a bit. The base metal SnS did about 30% more damage per sword hit than the DB. In the Wilds gameplay it's closer to 40-50%
