- Crafty friends, I am challenging myself to do altered playing cards on a full deck of cards. This video explains a bit about what I plan to do and shows my first card of the #challenge.

My sister and I are working on the giant cards... and mailing them to each other so we can work on the opposite sides. We hopefully will get to keep a whole deck with both our work on either side.. I'm in Ontario, she's in New Brunswick.

Years ago I did an altered book this way. There was a group of us who would do a page or two, then mail the book on to the next person in line, and so on. At the end we all had a book that everyone had done some work in. It was fun.
We finished... took a few years... my sister kept loosing them, then finding them again... lol... we've had a lot of fun doing them!
I bought myself a deck of cards the other day (boy were those difficult to find without going on Amazon), and plan to do this. I used to make ATC's, and various mixed media, but have been artistically stagnant for quite a long time. This might get me back to doing something. It's not that I don't have the inspiration, it's just that I don't have the motivation. And that's just wrong. Artwork is a huge part of who I am.

I did a few of these cards a good while back when I was venturing back onto facebook and was looking for groups to join. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I am on the spectrum and have lots of sensory and social issues, and I was able to make cards expressing different elements of interests and emotions. Found you again in my RUclips rabbit-hole binge-watching and now I'm inspired to do more cards and continue on this challenge to complete a deck. So awesome to see so many people on the Facebook page sharing their creations. This is indeed a unique and satisfying sensory project for me as I have used different textured collage materials.

Hi, it is totally up to you, I chose the face of the card, as I sometimes like it to shine through but doing the back is also a good idea 💖

I am such a literal, black & white person - so does this mean we copy the technique used on each card (1st card: tissue paper, stenciling, coloring, thread, image)? Or these are just what you are doing, these are ideas we can learn or do if want? I have zero creativity, so that's why I ask...
The challenge is pretty open and I don't have hard and fast rules. If you want, copy mine exactly, this will help with letting yourself try new techniques, or just use mine as an inspiration to create your own.
