      I’ve been looking into Lexie B2 Plus and Sennheiser, both around $999. Still deciding.

    Thank you for mentioning your "cookie bite" hearing loss! That is mine too (severe head injuries). Which of these five would you recommend for the cookie loss? Thank you in advance. :)

      I would recommend Jabra or Sennheiser for their customizations abilities. Both sound good to me!

    @Hearingsoundly I was thinking of getting my mother the Sennheiser All Day Clear OTC since she is an android phone user. She has a mild-mod sensorineural loss in both ears but also a cookie cutter loss at the mid frequencies in her left ear. Will this hearing aid have enough programming options to adjust to her loss. Do you have any other recommendations of OTC aids to consider? Her ENT suggested OTC since her loss is not bad enough to be covered by insurance.

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  3 месяца назад

      Interesting question! Sennheiser has a great product overall and solid customization options. However, the programming aspect of the hearing aids is done on both years in the same way. She will be able to change the volume per year, but she won’t be able to change the programming to be different in her right and left. If she has a significantly different shape of hearing loss in her two ears, she may need to try a product like Jabra Enhance Select. That product comes with professional programming so they can tweak things to match her hearing loss. The price is reasonably similar as well. Very interesting insights about OTC hearing aids. I have asymmetrical hearing loss and need a cros hearing aid solution. I haven't come across any OTC products that have cros capability. Maybe this is a good topic for one of your upcoming videos?

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  4 месяца назад +1

      Good question. At this point we haven’t come across good OTC options for asymmetrical loss. Most advanced products can customize by ear but they don’t go as far as to provide CROS capabilities. Maybe something we will see in the future!

    Can you give me an over-the-counter device that works with severe to profound hearing loss?

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  3 месяца назад +1

      OTC devices are capped by the FDA to certain output levels that are appropriate for mild to moderate hearing loss. For those with severe or profound loss it’s necessary to be treated by a licensed professional. It’s still possible that OTC devices lend benefit to higher hearing losses, but they aren’t recommended

    How does the Jabra Enhanced Select 300 compare to the Jabra Enhanced Select 500? I though the 500 was a better, more robust model?

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  23 дня назад

      Jabra Enhance Select 500 is the new version out just a month or so ago. The sound quality is nearly identical (same chip and algorithms). The big differences are the size (slightly smaller) and the Bluetooth Low Energy Audio capabilities (only available through 500).

      Biggest change is that the carry case now comes with portable power (instead of needing to be plugged in while charging). They also just rolled out streaming for Android devices which wasn't previously available.

    What about OTC hearing aids sold by Temu?

      Does Temu sell anything that's not cheap Chinese knockoff junk?

    • @2cartalkers
      @2cartalkers 4 месяца назад

      Yes, I needed a new water filter for my refrigerator, Lowes offered it to me for $59.99 plus tax, I found the exact same one on TEMU (3 for $19.99). I needed a specific type of dog harness for my 77 pound pooch, on Doggy Kingdom it was $36.00 on TEMU it was $9.48. My wife has a real problem finding bras to fit her; she is a 32C. At Nordstrom's they were well over $80 and she still had to alter them, on Temu under $20. Temu eliminates the middleman (like Jeff Bezos) and delivers direct from the factory.@@bookernoel6471

      The new so called Bose hearing aids is no where close to the Bose Hearphones which evidently worked too well. I've bought several pairs and I depend on them greatly. I have two pair I have never used and I won't break them out until my old ones fail. Such a shame that Bose dropped hearphones.

    • @stevewang
      @stevewang 2 месяца назад

      @@Pine4205 i know right, the "new" one are the bottom of the barrel joke. Hearphones have more useful features than the most expensive heading aids in the market.
      i will NEVER buy a hearing aid from the pathetic hearing aids companies, banking on social shame for "smaller"hearing aids. they even got rid of color versions. 30+years and literally no improvement.
