this might simply be a glitch, but i was a casual honey user, and whenever that stupid coin mascot notification popped up saying there was no coupon available and forcing me to click the “got it!” button, it always made me want to not actually click the button, so i would try clicking the tiny cross in the upper corner BUT IT NEVER WORKED and that stupid coin never went away unless i pressed the actual “got it!” button!!!!! it’s extremely manipulative and exploitative.
That’s part of the scam. It forces you to press Got It and it adds in a different link again giving Honey the credit and not the creator, also with Honey Gold, you’re not even saving money. You’re saving like $0.89 while honey gets like 90% of the money you spent.

I have used honey a few times at the beginning I’m talking like five years ago. It was really good, but I did notice even back then I submitted a few coupons and they never got uploaded but that was the only thing I noticed it used to give me good deals. If you want to steer clear of scams like this in the future, remember one thing: there is NO SUCH THING as free money. There was no point where you paid Honey for their service. You never paid them a dime anywhere, and yet they pay sponsorships out the ass and they offer customers savings. If you're (supposedly) benefiting from something monetarily and you don't know how they're making that money, stay away.

I think a lot of people are forgetting or just never knew, Honey was created by like a dad wanting to help his daughter who was an online shopaholic. What we knew Honey as, was what it was created for. Paypal paid 4 billion dollars for that loyalty and consumer sense of security.

I can remember specifically NOT using Honey for ages because it sounded too good to be true, then finally cracking and adding it to my browser in college. 9 times out of 10 it wouldn't even give me a coupon code to use so I got annoyed with the popups and deleted it before a year was out. Did it even DO what it said it was supposed to on a reliable basis for other people?

If you want to steer clear of scams like this in the future, remember one thing: there is NO SUCH THING as free money. There was no point where you paid Honey for their service. You never paid them a dime anywhere, and yet they pay sponsorships out the ass and they offer customers savings. If you're (supposedly) benefiting from something monetarily and you don't know how they're making that money, stay away.
i think this is interesting because ive been getting TONS of ads from "pie" RIGHT before the honey scandal. it was like all i was getting. apparently its from the founders of honey,,,and now- not a single pie ad. so shady and scammy
