  • My MEN1 Diaries: Ct/Pet scan and Endoscopic Ultrasound
After having an MRI, I have had a CT/Pet scan and an Endoscopic Ultrasound - the latter was horrible!
I don't know the full extent of what is going on with my endocrine system but I will find out in a few weeks.

I’m so terrified that I have men1. I am being followed for it by my endocrinologist. My dad passed away with Zollinger Ellison syndrome/pnet. I had a prolactinoma and my sister has a parathyroid tumor that is non functioning. I want to have genetic testing but I’m scared.

Oh hunny I'm sorry to hear that, my condolences. Yes, it is scary. That's why I put off having the test for so long. But please know that half the fear is not knowing. Once you start the path, you are closer to knowing and being able to take control of your life and health. If you have it, there are things that can be done to improve your quality of life. It's a chronic condition but not all bad as medical science is rapidly improving. Take the test and you will feel better once you know, trust me. I'm always here if you want to talk.

I’m so glad I found you. I just messaged my endocrinologist to see if she will have a scan of my pancreas done and also to set me up with a geneticist. I just want to know for sure. I have not been officially diagnosed since I haven’t had genetic testing but she is highly suspicious that I have it. I would love to keep in touch. I’m not on twitter but I’ll sign up.
