- In this video, I will be Demonstrating HOW TO apply Gator Glide G4 to the bottom of a personal watercraft PWC JET SKI on a Yamaha Waverunner.b in my opinion this is the most slick and most durable HULL Bottom Paintin on the market for Jet skis, Fishing Boats, Air Boats and pretty much anything it will stick to.
Replenish your JET SKI's HULL this season by following the steps in this video to ensure your Jet Ski HULL is protected and ready for fun and abuse over the season to better prepare yourself for the unknown of deep scratches and gouges that could happen while BEACHING or even incorrectly loading your Jet Ski on a trailer. This Protective Paint also will protect your JET SKI or Boat if you keep it in the water by PREVENTING Fiberglass DELAMINATIG

What type of Jack stands are you using to support the stern of the ski. Any idea where they can be purchased online. Very nice work, have you tried applying the gator glide with a roller?
Excellent vidéo.i would like to know how much of gator glide do you need to put in paint gun for one layer for waverunner ?
Check out the description I have mixing Instructions. 1 quart will do 1 ski
@@chattanoogafiberglass sorry my english is not good .i juste need to know how much did you put in paint gun to do juste one layer ? I undestund one quart is enought to do one ski but i need how much to put in gun paint for one layer .iam really sorry to bother you
@@khalilkenouche2063 you can roll it as well.
4oz part A into paint cup then pour 16cc/Ml part B into cup and mix.
@@chattanoogafiberglass thank you very much sir 👌👌👌
It would be very helpful to see a video of you repainting a JetSki bottom and the process.
I can do that. When I have another one come in and I have to paint it I’ll make a video. Almost the same process just sand the hull p600, base and clear or polyurethane paint like awlcraft 2000!
Also I believe I have some SHORTS of some paint work and one on a white ski top side
I have some experience painting car parts so I'll be using a hvlp gun, since this is a project ski am I able to use a single stage black on the bottom? I've seen that companies selling a epoxy primer looking for something simple. Also is just a scuff fine or do i have to sand all the way down like your gator glide video? thanks@@chattanoogafiberglass
@@bigboyben6 p220 the hull, epoxy primer 24hr cure, sand epoxy primer p400 then p600 then use a single stage polyurethane. Awlcraft 2000 is best
never had such a smooth finish with single stage polyurethane, now that gun is coming from the States@@chattanoogafiberglass
Hello, good job.
Features does the Gator Glide paint have?
Is it bituminous epoxy?
Thank you!
There are some good slow (24 hr.) cure urethane paints out there now, I got some for my bumpers on my RZR
and I swear it is tougher than any powder coat!. (about $30 a pint) plenty enough for a hull.
Do you have to be pretty quick about removing the tape?
Remove before cure
One of the best videos for the process I have ever seen. Which is better for durability Gator Glide, or Super Slick? I know it is mostly a subjective opinion but I bet there are good points and bad for each.
Super slick has a TDS so naturally I trust it more
@@chattanoogafiberglass Sorry, unfamiliar with the term TDS.
@@vitoconginejr3283 technical data sheet most chemicals and paints provide with information on use, instructions, reaction, etc
What does it cost to have a wave runner done?
I charge $1500 that’s if there’s no damage on bottom
Why not drain the oil in the fuel and flip it over it just seems like it would be a lot easier to work on
@@svdesertdepartedjoe9621 would be. I don’t have a gantry just yet to be able to! Good idea tho
It's hard on the motor mounts, you can never drain all the oil out, so you will likely have oil get past the rings into cylinders. When you say flip it over, how would you support it? there is no provisions for doing this. You also would have to deal with the fuel. So in the end it's more work and more likely to cause damage.
Is there a reason for not using gatorbase first?
Gator base is the same chemical properties just different color for an indicator for when it’s time for a new top coat
What is this yellow tape?
@@cowlumbus 3m
So what are most guys charging for this?
@@cowlumbus $950-1400. Update we are now only using super slick 2000
@@chattanoogafiberglass Awesome video.. I'm about to do a buddy's ski.. can you tell me why you switched to super slick over gator glide? Also, were you spraying with a 2mm tip? Thanks!
@@techwiz2410 super slick is an actual epoxy and has a TDS. It bonds way better. No fish eye crap lol like gator glide.
You never answered the question why.
Its not changimg its adding . Epoxy to the hull. It harder than paint and Its an extra layer.
Thanks for show us how easy it is a DIY only if you have all the tools and to also lift up the ski. Not worth it for me, I rather pay for your work.
@@kkutube1972 bring it on!!!
So who cares it's the botton for pete shakes
The Yamaha hull structure requires protection from paint or some coating in order for it not to delaminate . There are many benefits to doing this type of coating over paint. Durability is the main reason, it's slick so it makes it 10 x easier to slide off a stand onto and off of a trailer, it's easy to repair, and it looks great/easy to keep clean. Still not recommended to beach, but beaching is much less destructive than paint.

@@ScotBlue-w9l yes. I don’t use gator glide anymore. Super slick only. And actually these are your typical pipe fitter stands I just cut the V shape top off and had quarter inch steel squares welded on with wood on top and counter sink bolts
