Grocery costs have really soared. I have really tried to tightened things up. First, I went through my pantry, fridges and freezers and took stock. Next, I set out to be better about making a weekly menu, making sure to have one night a week to plan breakfast foods. This allows me to use pantry items and less expensive forms if proteins like sausage and eggs. And last I have taken to making sure to look at the sales and check prices on store apps and websites to be sure that I have found the best value. Unfortunately, it this feels like a full-time job! 😂😂 I love your cooking video that uses your pantry and common ingredients. I love seeing how Maria has become such a helper. My mom always made potato salad with Italian dressing. It adds the vinegar component to the salad. Pour the Italian dressing on the potatoes while they’re still warm so it can soak in. Everyone loved mom’s potato salad, but she never ate a bite of it! Thank you for all your videos.
Oh myyyy!! I don't have kids so watching yours grow up is a blessing.. seeing peter grow taller than you knowing I have been watching since he was so little with his cute squeaky voice makes my heart grow.. maria and Joe too. I grew up in a home where dessert was only made for special occasions, but my husband grew up in a home like you show in videos or talk about with making dessert often and also just because. There is no judgment about it, just wondering. (Your style of cooking and baking reminds me of my late mother-in-love. I miss her.)

When you married Warren, did you know how to cook wild game like deer and turkey and did you like the flavor instantly or did it just grow on you? Great video! Jennifer, I made the 4-H Food Stand Ham Sandwiches recently (which I have made several times before), except this time, I swapped out the ham for deli roast beef. I also used Provolone cheese, and they were phenomenal!! My family scarfed them all down and asked when I'd be making them with roast beef again! 😊

I have a question??? How long can you leave lunch meat in the freezer??? I can tell you its been in my freezer 4-6 months... (Ham, Hard Salami, Pepperoni, and some turkey... Did I screw up???
I'm sure they are perfectly fine. It will depend on the type of luncheon meat, meaning does it have more water content or is it more on the dryer side because of salt. It may not be at its peak freshness but I'm sure it will be edible. Now is there a reason why it's been in your freezer for 6 months? I ask only because usually lunch meat goes much quicker than that unless you bought in major bulk.
Wait a minute you are now just starting to wonder if pricing has gone up? I'm sure that's not what you meant because pricing has been going up steadily for the last 2 years and especially the last year. It's just how you said it, you were a little bit surprised that pricing is increasing.

I think I do understand what you're trying to convey. There are some RUclipsrs I follow who I know can certainly afford what they are buying but they will spend time going on and on about how things have increased and yet they have changed absolutely nothing in how they purchase groceries and everything else. They are still buying the more expensive brands, they are not cutting back etc....So I think for the average viewer it gets a little bit frustrating to watch somebody lamenting about increase and inflation when you look at their groceries and it's all brand names because that's what the kids want.

Price gouging by the big corporations has gotten ridiculous. They are just taking advantage at this point. It is pure greed.
I agree. I was just at Walmart today and looking at the prices of bleach, which has almost tripled since Covid, and I thought price gouging!
Exactly, especially when we hear farmers are saying it is not coming from them, the massive increases coming from the actual supermarkets.
What is the price of diesel? Sorry but the truck isn't swallowing that price increase you are. Until those prices drop things are going to be high.
