Dot filter! Excellent - glad you showed that. Another technique to revisit and try again. I had a stab at this a while ago and use too much thinners, which resulted in me removing most of the oil paint, rather than blending it. It is amazing how useful a video tutorial can be compared to a written article. Thanks Michael
Superb work Michael. The way you build up so many layers of effects really is an artform and the finished model is outstanding. The textural nature of the weathering is really impressive and the photos at the end showed it all off very nicely. Could see the results of the dot filter method better at that stage.Thank you for yet another excellent video :) - Sim
Yummy yummy! The best building recipes in town! Your work is highly inspirational and motivating; I'll definitively apply the dot filter technique in my next built. That final touch of iron on the tracks is agreat idea; all that mud usually covers the iron glint and that's a pity because a bit of metal gives weight, realism and visual interest. Well done mate! Cheers!
Felis Barcinonensis thank you very much :) i´m glad you consider my work as a very helpful thing. it annoyed me aswell to hid the nice metal glare under pigments, so this time i did it the other way round and it worked nicely.
Very nice Jagdpanther and thanks, u gave me confidence that when i bought this kit, it will look nice and great job on the weathering and the oil flitering. The Jagdpanther looks very real and natural.
Great overall effect. I like the tonal variations that you brought out with the weathering. Always loved the shape of this vehicle. For the 1940's, it looked futuristic.
I love, love, love that late war camo with the green base. I have a final model StuG III I need to finish with the green basecoat. Looks great. You have done an outstanding job of the weathering but I did like it better without all the mud! Ill need to tfy that oil dot effect too, but dont really want to buy a whole bunch of oil paints! Hmmmm.....Ill see. Anyways, FANTASTIC JOB. VERY INSPIRATIONAL.
Amazing as always Hamilkar!! all that work paid off for sure. Probably one of the best Panzerjagers of the war, alongside with the Hetzer. Waiting for the next one!!. Greetings from Argentina.
This is by far one of your best paint scheme Michael ! I love it ! Makes it look even bigger ! Great execution and loads of talent ! Keep up the good work !
Norm Lajoie thank you very much norm :) it was a pleasure to build this model, gotta love those tanks, they have such a sexy shape haha. not as bulky as a stryker or merkava :D
It is very Slick Looking Kat ! and you gave it justice !!! Wunderbar ! can't wait to hear about the package arriving in Germany ? They must have put it on a Sail boat ? LOL
Norm Lajoie so far nothing has arrived yet, i´m wondering what happened. must be a sail boat or a swimmer indeed! so far every package from all over the world reached me within reasonable time, even stuff way back from malaysia.
Stellar work on your Jagpanther Michael....the dot filter really added tonal variety to the surface. Great job mudding up the running gear. Loved the photos at the tank museum too...very cool. Keep having Fun Brother. Bill.
awesome job there Michael beautiful work i use the oil dot method a lot and i use the wood glue as a fixer it has so many uses in our hobby brilliant work there bud top stuff :)
Exceptional work my friend! Also a very excellent demonstration of techniques both new and old. I think that my favourite part of the entire painting process is doing the dot filters. Haha. I'm weird that way. That's and awesome piece Mike! Well done!
That was a great final video! The weathering techniques you done are fantastic! I especially like way you used the dot filtering technique. Again, great video. I give a four star rating! :)
Inspiring as always. Great weathering! You always make me want to build tanks... I'm leaning towards the 1/25 Tiger, as I find 1/35 to be too small! :D I know who's videos to watch when I'm about to weather it! Keep up the good work, ja?
Hamilkar Barkas I thought the Jagdpanther had the same standard layout as most german tanks. Left front-driver, right front-MG/radio operator, turret left front-gunner, turret left rear-commander and turret right-loader. However, after looking at a bunch of stuff on the web, there is some confusion of where the loader and commander are. Given the optics on the right side hatch it would seem you are correct.
I wish, most of my jobs come from plumbing mishaps! hot water tanks, toilet supply lines, fridge ice maker lines, dishwater malfunction, shut off valves, etc. There has to be lots of rain! and sideways wind to get weather related jobs!
Hamilkar Barkas Glad you enjoyed the build, the end result is stunning... of'course!! I knew it would be from the start.. And now, onwards and upwards... a Sherman!! :) No??
Rob BasicModelling its been a while since i made a properly destroyed tank wreck :)i actually consider to build a sherman, but a 1/72 scale one with wooden add on armour which was used in the pacific theatre of war. i kinda loke the look of it.
Hamilkar Barkas Yes.. I have the Italeri Sherman kit in 1/35 with the 'wooden armour'.. I actually ordered some Japanese Infantry soldiers (Tamiya 1/35) today, from Japan, to go with the Sherman and the Dragon 1/35 US Marines I bought previously.. plan to make a little diorama of a pacific island battle type thing.. :) Will be interesting to see how long it will take for the figures to get here.. :)
Klasse Baubericht!! LG Tom
google for interesting - Finnish army camouflage on vehicles- they do it differently so maybe an easy time for you if you make another Finnish vehicle of ww2. your work is super - I recall a model I did, the USS Olympic...in those days, the plastic was colored and so I had no idea I could have improved it, but then I might have ruined it :)

Armour Empire you are welcome mark :) i´m not really used to dot filtering either but i can see the benefits. might do that more often.
Superb work Michael. The way you build up so many layers of effects really is an artform and the finished model is outstanding.
Beautiful work! I will make my own mainly based on your way!
i hope it works for you :)
Stellar work on your Jagpanther Michael....the dot filter really added tonal variety to the surface. Great job mudding up the running gear. Loved the photos at the tank museum too...very cool.

DarthPhotek thank you :) 1/35 scale is too small? lol! its funny how different the preferences are :)
Rob BasicModelling
Hamilkar Barkas Well yeah compared to 1/25 it is rather tiny don't you think? :D I love big kits! I want the 1/6th scale Willys Jeep, too. :0
Beautiful work!
I lover your works!
落苏 cheers!
Hamilkar Barkas lover≠lover:D
Beautiful work as always. Just curious though, why the loader in the open hatch? Something different than having the TC sticking out?
thank you!
from what i know about such tanks this is the commanders hatch, there are also the commander periscope infront of it.
Hamilkar Barkas I thought the Jagdpanther had the same standard layout as most german tanks. Left front-driver, right front-MG/radio operator, turret left front-gunner, turret left rear-commander and turret right-loader. Awesome work Michael !!! Make a diorama
Рустам Гарифуллин thanks! at some point i´ll do one :)
Very good. I've learned a lot ! Thanks :-)

Kein Problem, habe ich doch gerne gemacht. :)
excellent work!
you must be busy with all this rain :)
I wish, most of my jobs come from plumbing mishaps! hot water tanks, toilet supply lines, fridge ice maker lines, dishwater malfunction, shut off valves, etc. There has to be lots of rain! and sideways wind to get weather related jobs!
Very Cool, Well Done
Ellis Pawson thanks!
Too long for me to see right now as I am supposed to go out shopping.. but I have taken note of it and will return.. :)
Rob BasicModelling the video will still be there later :) even tomorrow!
Hamilkar Barkas Glad you enjoyed the build, the end result is stunning... of'course!! I knew it would be from the start..

super modell geworden :)
Jolonius Rex danke :)
Amazing model as always! Just a shame I ruined my 'Elefant' by not being very good at airbrushing camouflage :/ Oh well, one to hide away I guess :P
***** no worries, you can always repaint.
I wish I spoke whatever language he is speaking I feel like I could learn a lot from him.
Chubby lumpkins thats why i add english subtitles to all my videos...just activate them.
