  • ET revisits Tupac Shakur's legendary music career and the late rapper's passion for acting. In rare interviews, Tupac opens up about his portrayal in the media as his personal struggles played out in the spotlight. Following his role opposite Janet Jackson in John Singleton's 'Poetic Justice,' he shared how acting in movies influenced his hip hop career, and vice-versa. At 25 years old, he died on Sept. 13, 1996.

Exactly. Pac never claimed to be a gangbanger or gangster. People always accuse him for baing a fake gangster. He claimed to be a thug not a gangbanger or gangster. Pac was just a man that wasn't afraid to speak his mind and wasn't afraid of shit. He was militant. It is how he was brought up. He grew up around black panthers. That attitude was embedded in him since childhood. Pac was himself. He wasn't trying to be a gangster.

I remember being a kid in the 90’s and seeing my older brothers “All Eyez On Me” and remembering Tupac’s face. Tupac had a very striking/unique face and I’m always in awe when I see new interviews and angles of him.
Ultimately, although we may not like to say it, Tupac tragically died over actions he didn’t have to do. His nature as a contrarian really shows when speaking about longevity in the interview, he was dead a few weeks later.
He left behind a colossal body of work, but it feels like a lot of lost potential, and without the proper people behind you and the correct mentality that’s what many talented people can remain….potential.
The story of Tupac is a cautionary tale of the power of raw brilliance and the need for wisdom. 💔

This man was hardly 25 with more self reflection and insight than majority of others in his age range. People always hate but can't deny this positive impact in the world. Still taking about this man 27 years later after his death. Movies, documentaries, holograms, compilations, diamond records, fueds, podcasts, etc. All still being birthed after 27 years from his passing. Name me one person in history like this. If you don't like it, cool, but respect the work ethic and what he stood for 💯💯
