Hey all- just a quick note to add onto this vid- the prices listed were from local camera shops and Best Buy stores in NY and CT (America). It seems like you can get better prices on Amazon for the film!! Be sure to explore your options before buying.
I absolutely loved this review. Thank you for sharing how much you enjoy the instax for the memories is provides and the simplicity of the camera! I know a lot of other reviews have complained about the lighting/flash setbacks, but this was such a sweet review. Your story about giving away the snaps to friends and the detailed samples of the photos you have collected were really nice to see in the video! Thanks, you are so awesome!
Really glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to write that out. And yeah, it's a joy to shoot with, probably the most fun instant camera I own.
This is hilarious! the first drawback is the cost of the exposures. and that's before you'd have to purchase chemicals back in the day, which did not have a long shelf life. I remember in the early 90s when I was starting out, I was so meticulous about each shot because I knew I couldn't just spray and pray, or shoot endlessly. I love the convenience of digital, but it makes most people lazy when shooting because they know they can "fix" in post. I love film, I have been shooting since I was 14 and carry around a Kodak folding Hawkeye and an Nikon FG in my bag. The 120mm Ilford rolls only have 9 shots and there is absolutely nothing digital on it. The FG has a rudimentary light meter, but nothing else is digital, I still love to shoot film. It forces me to slow down and I love that, it is very fulfilling. I am getting this camera for my 5 year old, who already shows promise. Thanks for the review.
Espero puedas leerlo.

I don't usually comment on videos, but this is definitely one of those videos that deserves to be congratulated for the effort and detail that goes into each one. Thanks. Greetings from Mexico. I had the instax mini 8 before and sold it away the moment the instax printers came out. the film is expensive, I'm not a professional so yea, I wasted a lot of film with bad shots....I switched the the printers just because I had the choice what I want to print. THEN THE INSTAX MINI EVO CAME OUT...And I'm in love!! I can take photos with that "retro vibe", store it in a memory card to transfer to my computer, or directly transfer it to my phone/ipad via the app, have the ability to choose what shots I want to print, TURN MY CAMERA INTO A PORTABLE PHOTO PRINTER FOR MY PHONE AAAAAAND HAVE ABILITY TO CROP/POSITION THE IMAGE IN THE CAMERA!!!! I say Fujifilm outdid themselves with the Instax mini Evo, AND I'M WAITING FOR THE DAY THEY'LL COME OUT WITH THE WIDE VERSION AAAAAAAH!!! 6:196:19
I got lucky to score the Instax Wide 300 Party Set (comes with 30 shots) today at the nearby electronic store for just 97 Euros. Not my first time to own an instant/instax camera and they do just die on me over time after a great amount of use but it will not stop me from buying them over and over again :'>
I loved this review and how you would share your opinion on how you took your photos. I even like how you edit your video. True, although monochorme films are pricey but they are worth a penny.
Ur shots are freaking amazing !!! Love the avatar pic so much !!! I love the design of the Instax wide but its too huge and film is expensive. I recently purchased the Instax LiPlay for multiple reasons , its amazing but doesn’t have the addictive satisfying analogue feeling. I like to think of it as a modern instant camera. Hope i made the right decision purchasing it
Thank you so much for the kind words, appreciate ya! I agree, the Wide is pretty weird and bulky. The LiPlay is the one that has that audio thing along with it right?
You helped me make up my mind on this camera. My Instax 210 was dropped, and it broke, and I have loved using it but now it seems as if it's not available. I have brought it around gatherings and people instantly brighten up when these photos print. I have also had the same experience when it comes to giving these as gift. The vibe is just so good when you are able to take good shots and gift them to friends and family. Nostalgic for sure. Thank you for this helpful review.
Thanks for the review. I'm struggling to decide between the instax wide and lomo wide. I do like the various settings on the lomo but the reviews vary from amazing to unusable because it has a serious exposure issue. Help please :)
I unfortunately haven't tested the Lomo Wide myself, so I couldn't really offer you personal experience. Let me see if I can get my hands on one and let you know!!
do you usually use the setting like flash and exposure? or just let that camera do it’s thing, one thing i found annoying is i put new film in and the first photo came out completely white the second came out completely black and the third came out ok,am i doing something wrong??
Myby i buy this one wen my instax mini is broken or doesnt work any more😅 i bought it yesterday and i love fujifilm instax instant camera,s😊✌🏾👋🏾👍🏾thank you for this revieuw😊
I'm looking to upgrade my Instax Wide 210. How do you think this stacks up to the new Polaroid OneStep2 and OneStep+? Already Polaroid loses on price and number of shots per pack, but I'm curious about ease of using and ability to get quality shots. I've had my 210 for many years now and still have trouble with lighting and framing. Does the 300 do a better enough job to make a difference? I thought the Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic was my solution, but I keep coming back to the film size. Minis are just so small.
Hey there. I actually did a review of the One Step 2: ruclips.net/video/vf4gkPdLUqc/видео.html I like the camera a ton. I'm still testing out the One Step+ however. In my experience, they are aesthetically gorgeous cameras, easy to use, and intuitive. The drawback in my opinion is the film. The polaroid film is pretty unreliable. And expensive. So you might drop 20 bucks and get a pack that doesn't develop right. In that regard, I think the Fujis hang better. I love the Wide. The photos I get have been consistently good. I will say, the camera is pretty bulky though. Not heavy, but big. So if that's an issue for you, the Polaroids might be better. I have to do a vid on the Neo Classic too, haven't used it myself yet. But I agree the Mini Instax film is wayyyy small.
Hi there! I would like to ask you for a little advice ... I’m trying to decide which instant camera I’ll go to buy, my options are this one and the Polaroid OneStep 2. Could you recommend me one? I’m looking for a big format photo and good quality. I do know Polaroid is more expensive but as I will use it not very often I don’t care to spend more money on it. Thanks for your amazing videos!
I'm in the same situation but with Polaroid one-step plus, im leaning towards the Instax wide because it's cheaper (mainly the film) but Polaroid one-step plus has really good phone app options
I loved me Fuji Wide but it stopped working so some one recommended the One step +.... after using the Fuji Wide I really get the one step plus. You nailed my reasons why on your review of the one step +.... I’m curious to know if your opinion has changed on a favorite instant film in 2021? Thanks! You are awesome!!!
Thanks very much. I'm a big fan of the Polaroid Now lately, it's so simple. And ever since Polaroid's film started getting more reliable, it's become my most frequently used instant camera.
I honestly really loved this review! Iv been shooting wide film for about 2 years now almost 3 and I was the happiest dog when I got my hands on the monochrome! It truly is a nice film... But you didn't mention the close up lens? Unless i blacked out.. but Iv got SOME AMAZING close up shots with it! Especially in monochrome! But in the instant world... the SX70 is the best... as of film being produced Today!
Thank you so much for commenting- you're absolutely right. I'm going to have to eventually make a follow up to talk about that close up adapter. And I'm not familiar with the SX70 film, though I have used a ton of Impossible film on my Polaroid One Step 2. I've had mixed experiences with the Impossible film, with several packs of film being either expired, or just not fully developing. I actually have a whole beat about that stuff in my Polaroid vid, which will be up in a few weeks.
Sweet Lou Photography Tell me about it!😂 same here with film being bad ect! Especially before they upgraded to Polaroid Originals! Buying off Amazon and not knowing the expiration date.. ! I'm just glad best buy started carrying it I would buy it from urban for $32 now just $20! And this review was really nice! Thank you for making it!
I have the camera and dig it, but like all Fuji Instax cameras, it lacks the ability to do long exposures with no flash ... also no self timer on this model )all cameras need one in mind) ... in spite of that I love the larger size!!!
could you recomend me how close i can be to get pictures in decent focus jaja in far i like what i took but in close , all my pic are terrible . im new iin this camera , saludos desde chihuahua mexico
I have a few questions . if i'm taking a far away shot how far could I actually go. And what lense's should be used for further and closer. Also if its to dark is that when you turn on light exposure. What about outside shots. Light exposure as well?
It can focus with the two modes- .9m - 3m, and 3m - infinity. So you want to use the .9m - 3m mode for things that are closer to you, and the 3m - infinity for stuff that's further away. You would use light for a brighter exposure, dark for a darker one. Outdoors, I normally leave it alone on the default mode, if it's super bright I would hit the dark button. Hope that helps!
I want an instant camera but I’m not sure which one. I’m very torn between Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 and Instax Wide 300. Any suggestions on which on I should get?
I think it depends on your budget, the Mini 9 is way cheaper. Idk if you saw it, but I did review that one as well. I like the 9 a ton, but I think the form factor is a little weird. It's bulbous and very curvy. I really dig the Wide, mainly because of the prints. I like the size of them, and the monochrome film stock is lovely. Not to further confuse, but the new Polaroid One Step+ looks pretty sweet too.
After a time I can say it takes nice photos. They won't be as saturated as mini format but still nice colors. apart from bulky size I see two other flaws. 1. No self-timer!!!!! That's crazy! There is always one person excluded from group photos then!(unless you ask a stranger). 2. The flash even in it's "stronger" flash mode is not that strong. Only when you choose "L" the subjects are properly lit...
Nice review! In a few weeks i am marrying and would like to have an instant Camera for the guestbook. Me and my guests have no experience in photographing, so im worried that the camera could be to complex for us with the focus and so on. Would be so happy about any opinions of some profis :)
None But Myself I haven't been able to get my hands on any of the Mint Instant cameras (still #notspons haha) so I couldn't give you an informed opinion on that one, sorry!! What I can say it the Mint cameras always catch my eye. I think they are aesthetically gorgeous, and when I have some extra scratch, I would buy one. However, the newest Instax Square really caught my eye too. Have you seen it? It apparently makes full analogue prints.
I'm currently saving up for the TL70. I think buying their cameras is a good investment in the long run because, one, the image quality you get is awesome! two, the free film programme. I have seen the new instax square. Looks pretty cool!! I like the new design. Hopefully they'll come out with a new wide version with similar features and functions.
*Free film for life* programme!! That's all they talk about with the TL70. They've also low-key announced it with the RF70. So ultimately, you get your money back, and free film.
I actually reviewed the One Step 2 on this channel as well now. I think both cameras shine in their own ways. Initially the One Step 2's biggest issue was actually the film itself. I found some of their earlier packs to be really unreliable. They've seemingly gotten much better now. I can't wait to get my hands on the One Step+. That one fixes a few of the criticisms I had.
I have a few questions. look at 03:13. the photo result has a light leak on it, which I also have it on my prints, especially on the daylight or when I shoot towards the sun. But recently, the light leak also appears when I shoot indoor, although it's not as bad as when I'm shooting outdoors. Is there any explanation for it? Is it normal? Or there is something that I can do about it?. Thank u so much!
Hey there! I mean that in my various trips, I've taken the camera through airport security. Either on my person, or in my checked bag. So basically, it can take a little bit of... let's say rough handling. On my trip to Vegas, the TSA's handling of my checked bag resulted in a broken Instax Mini 7 upon arrival. Haha, bummer. But the Instax Wide has gone on several trips, and is still in one piece!
I actually found out after making this vid those marks come from light leaks-- apparently the plastic between the inside of the camera body and lens allows a bit of light in which creates those marks.
anyone know where you can get a good photo album for your instax wide film? ive honestly been looking for months in stores and online and cant find anything that fits the film
I did some research and found this one on etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/669360588/instax-wide-photo-album-for-20-photos?gpla=1&gao=1&InstantSnap_sfc_osa&gclid=CjwKCAiA3uDwBRBFEiwA1VsajO6GuFft5kIeO-siiBFaVgPij1F86cYNWL_fuZ_pQZ5gRwSYy43CehoCYQEQAvD_BwE I don't know the seller, nor do I have one myself so I can't talk about the quality. But it looks good from the pictures. Hope that helps a bit
While I haven't tested the SQ6 myself, I have a buddy who really loves the camera. My thoughts on getting a Fuji for a 7 year old is maybe go with the Mini 9 (I made a review of that one too: ruclips.net/video/Drj2kifjt4U/видео.html) Mainly because it's the cheapest of the three, and the film for the mini series cameras are the most readily available in stores like Target.
Nice vid! I can relate, I inherited one of these after a wedding shoot and loved it at first! Then I realized the film is the real gem, Not the camera. Until I can get some fancy glass mounted to mine I'm rocking the lomo instant wide....??? Yeah I know they are generally overpriced, cheap cameras but there's just very few options for the Instax Wide fans??? Come on FUJI show us some love! Make better cameras, more options for film stocks..
The thing about the film price just doesn't seem right. A pack of 20 color film exposures for this camera is only $16 on amazon whereas the monochrome film is $15 for 10 exposures.
My experience was taken from local camera shops in NY/CT and in Best Buy- I usually don't order film from Amazon. Since I filmed this, I've also seen prices lowered in some of my local shops- I'm going to pin a note on this vid noting that Amazon is likely the way to go to get better deals on film. Thanks for commenting!
No prob fam, like I said thanks for writing. That kind of thing is important AF, especially when a lot of people are seeing this and potentially deciding to spend their money or not
Holy shit. Why doesn't one company just make an instant camera where you can get about ten exposures for a dollar? Everyone will buy it. Because, oh I dunno, it's fucking not $10 for a fucking 10 pack of film
I'm looking at your picture images. I don't find them any better than the last Land Cameras with 600 film. With the Impossible Film project, I can still get film for $20 a roll, albeit 8 exposures. This makes the present 600 film only slightly more expensive than yours. Still get B&W film for around the same price. Only advantage I see is size.....and the old 600 film was capable of even better pics than I'm seeing in your vid....but that was then, Impossible Film is now. Your camera looks cheap, my Polaroid SLR 680 SE is built for generations. Tough to get your hardon for this camera.
Right!? My SX 70 busted a few years ago and today I felt the urge to replace it. Once I came across the 300 model and the price of it's film I was dead set on it.
That's why you get the printer and print from your cell phone but even then you do not know how the lightening will turn out after the picture is printed
Hey all- just a quick note to add onto this vid- the prices listed were from local camera shops and Best Buy stores in NY and CT (America). It seems like you can get better prices on Amazon for the film!! Be sure to explore your options before buying.
You should review the sq6 next
Thanks fam, that one is on my radar actually. I'm hoping I can borrow one from a friend haha
Hi!
Should I choose Instax Wide 300 or Instax Square 90? Which one is the best everyday instant camera?
I absolutely loved this review. Thank you for sharing how much you enjoy the instax for the memories is provides and the simplicity of the camera!
I just got one a week ago and I'm basically obsessed. I enjoy your voice btw
Enjoy!! It's such a fun camera. And thanks about my voice haha
@@SweetLouPhotography I'm thinking of making an Instagram dedicated to photos taken on the camera. And no problem : )
You gotta make sure you hit me up on IG if you do that!! I'd love to see.
Polaroid looks like fun thing in Life Is Strange, until i look at film price...
OMG yes! I love how she always takes pictures
I own a old Instax 100 and I absolutely adore it. The shoots are gigantic compared to a Mini and look like they come straight from a Time Machine.
I've been obsessing over which Instax to get first, wide or mini. You've convinced me. This is the one.
Happy to help :)
Solid review! I appreciate all the work you put into this simple instant camera/film review 👍
I appreciate you!!! Thanks
Sweet Lou Photography just found a 210 instax and 4x20 packs for $15 and this got me extra stoked to use it and really helped.
Brian Gonzales holy deals batman. Enjoy that!!

@@SweetLouPhotography I think they're trying and failing to ask about zoom not focus.
Black spots in the burnt out whites? Is this some kind of digital/analog mix camera or film?
I'm not entirely sure as to why it happens honestly
Do you recommend this camera for toys photography?
You mean taking photos of toys? If so, probably not, you can't really focus all that close so I think you would lose out on smaller details.
Nice review!
In a few weeks i am marrying and would like to have an instant Camera for the guestbook.
Me and my guests have no experience in photographing, so im worried that the camera could be to complex for us with the focus and so on.
Would be so happy about any opinions of some profis :)

You've got a good eye, it sure was
Hi. Really considering getting this camera, however I'm thinking of saving up for the Mint RF70. Wise choice?
None But Myself whoa whoa whoa, free film program????
*Free film for life* programme!! That's all they talk about with the TL70. They've also low-key announced it with the RF70. So ultimately, you get your money back, and free film.
Instax mini 8 or 9 camera review would be awesome. Please do one?
Great review! You worth more subscribers!
Thanks so much, really appreciate ya!!
forget the polaroid camera, what camera did you film with? it looks gorgeous!
Haha thanks you LEGEND. normally I film primarily with the Canon 6D mk II. This vid was actually mostly the Sony a7s with the Zeiss 55mm f1.8
Hey , may i know what camera u used when filming through the car window and at the waterfall? (Not the polaroid camera)
I had to go back to my old hard drive to look hahaha. This was shot on the Sony a7s with the Zeiss 55mm f1.8
Sweet Lou Photography thanks!!
Please your personal opinion... this .. or the polaroid onestep 2....
Thanks for reaching out on IG, it was probably easier to chat there lol

@@SweetLouPhotography thank you
Does anyone else camera kinda hesitate to turn off and close the lense??
what do u mean by its been taken through the airports?
A little bit of electrical tape over the flash?
3:13 does anyone know why these blue marks in the bottom appear? It happens quite often! 😔
I actually found out after making this vid those marks come from light leaks-- apparently the plastic between the inside of the camera body and lens allows a bit of light in which creates those marks.
Have you found ant way to fix it? It is so dissapointing to loose about 1-2/3 of good photo sheets due to these marks!
anyone know where you can get a good photo album for your instax wide film? ive honestly been looking for months in stores and online and cant find anything that fits the film
Hope that helps a bit
you deserve so many more subs
Thank you so much :)
I love this thing!
Yeah it's a dope camera!
just got one, tbh i make bad financial decisions but ohwell i hope it pays off
Great review!! I'm getting one.
I bought one right after watching your review. I can't wait for it to get here!!!
I ve just bought mine!!!!!!!
Thank you!!!
You're so welcome!!
Where is that water fall?
that's Kent Falls, CT
@@SweetLouPhotography Thank you!
This or SQ6 for my 7 year old?
While I haven't tested the SQ6 myself, I have a buddy who really loves the camera. My thoughts on getting a Fuji for a 7 year old is maybe go with the Mini 9 (I made a review of that one too: ruclips.net/video/Drj2kifjt4U/видео.html) Mainly because it's the cheapest of the three, and the film for the mini series cameras are the most readily available in stores like Target.
تقييم رائع شكراً 💙
I haven't gotten my hands on the lomo version. What are your thoughts on it? Thanks for commenting!
Kent falls. Nice 👍
duuuuuude your videos are great.
Thanks bud!! Appreciate ya, I try to have fun with these reviews
Great review and video!
Elden Avila thanks very much!!!
That beginning, holy shit. FUCK YAH. LOL
that's a big classic lol
The thing about the film price just doesn't seem right. A pack of 20 color film exposures for this camera is only $16 on amazon whereas the monochrome film is $15 for 10 exposures.
My experience was taken from local camera shops in NY/CT and in Best Buy- I usually don't order film from Amazon. Since I filmed this, I've also seen prices lowered in some of my local shops- I'm going to pin a note on this vid noting that Amazon is likely the way to go to get better deals on film. Thanks for commenting!
@@SweetLouPhotography Oh, that makes sense. Thanks for responding :)
No prob fam, like I said thanks for writing. That kind of thing is important AF, especially when a lot of people are seeing this and potentially deciding to spend their money or not
Is this video sponsored?
0:00 :)
Holy shit. Why doesn't one company just make an instant camera where you can get about ten exposures for a dollar? Everyone will buy it. Because, oh I dunno, it's fucking not $10 for a fucking 10 pack of film
Genial video! Nuevo subcriptor desde Argentina!
Thanks so much!!!!
love the intro...lol
Best thrift at 24 usd, with expired film still inside the camera
AWESOME REVIEW :P
Thanks so much!!
Kevin Fetner I mean u get what u pay for this camera is like 86 dollars the camera that u have is 100+
$12-$20 for a pack of ten?! Thats straight up cheap compared to SX-70 and Spectra film I have been buying.
Right!? My SX 70 busted a few years ago and today I felt the urge to replace it. Once I came across the 300 model and the price of it's film I was dead set on it.
That's why you get the printer and print from your cell phone but even then you do not know how the lightening will turn out after the picture is printed
Doesn't work w wide lol
