I'm lost for words...that was a cool video man. I'm still surprised that your channel doesn't have a million subs. some pretty sick artwork as well. some of those homemade tools and using the boom to get in that small space just makes me laugh. had a similar experience in indonesia and a lot of bamboo. peace
Awesome, I rekon the tap was just for cleaning up existing threads, don't fancy their chances cutting threads from scratch with it. Really cool video mate cheers.
This is why I did a big search of the area to find what it was used on, It left me with more questions than answers. If just to clean paint or whatever from threads why not just score threads on a bolt and call it a day
@@Finntheweekendwarrior Maybe they didn't have a bolt long enough to reach where they needed to clean, so they cut the head off the bold and welded in a chunk of rebar to extend the length?
Surely that yellow thing at 06:43 is what the pipefitters use when they are lining up flanges. They stick it through the bolt holes of both flanges and use brute force to line up the flanges.
yes it would be a "pitch bar" but it's the first time i see one in which you put a inch-and-a-half pipe to apply brute force on with 2-4 guys... we usually use chain blocks or come-along to align the pipes, not brute force.
@@Finntheweekendwarrior Thanks for the reply... This video was really well done, and the humor was great without being condescending. One of the best subs I've joined in a long time.

Chewing Gum welding machine. Yup. For a long time, my welder made either chewing gum or holes. Anything in between was pure luck.

Hi
What is your trade and why are you in west africa doing it?
Electrician, supervisor role.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I'm curious, what kind of operation is being set up there? You mentioned a mine?
Gold
8:07 I think to pull electric wiring through pvc tubes. If it isn't too thick for that.
Looks like a C-clamp to me.
6:35 looks like it used to be a carpet ripper!
Or wielded by Jack the Ripper !
Can you tell us which country this is? I think I caught some French there.
A lot of west Africa speaks French. This was Burkina Faso
@@Finntheweekendwarrior Yes. I did Peace Corps in Benin and Togo. Played softball with the president of Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou once!
reminds me of the game Rust
Hahah not sure about the game but rust sure does come into play
