    Written Conclusion of First Day :3
    ES team fights NA team outside of NA base which didn’t really exist yet [Legal]. However, the ES team spawn camped [Legal] and placed beds on NA island to keep respawning on the enemy island [Illegal at the time]. During fights, a few ES streamers used F1 killing, which is going into the console to self kill so the enemy team won’t get dog tags (think /kill for you minecrafters) [Illegal for the entire tournament although it was hard to enforce but it started with the ES team]. Loot was not returned back to NA team as no one on the NA side cried to admins but took it as your typical Rust experience.
    NA team then fights back, making their way to the ES island to fight, in vengeance per say. Unexpectedly, the ES base was made out of twig which would easily break. Outside of CoconutB purposely shooting a door [Illegal], most, if not all, the broken twigs were essentially hit by crossfire unintentionally. NA streamers made their way into the ES base from the roof and sides and took some loot, but upon a ton of complaints, most of the loot taken [LEGALLY] (remember as it just happened to the NA team) was then given back to the ES team. ES team gets kinda upset as the whole accidentally breaking twig structures was spurred into something much more than that. Especially by that one female ES streamer who literally just fed misinformation to the ES team the entire tournament to unnecessarily fuel the fire.
    Due to complaints, the rules are updated to enforce no breaking structures and no going beyond two doors deep into main bases for both sides. TO FAVOR THE ES TEAM BTW!
    After these rules are updated, an Oil Rig event occurs. The ES team establish early dominance at the OR. NA streamers decided to give up on the event and instead raid the ES base while following the rules as most of the better ES players were at the OR. Since the ES base wasn’t repaired and there was technically no two door layers, the NA streamers yet again entered the ES base from open side doors and ladders from the roof [Legal]. Loot was taken again but what a surprise, the ES team complains thinking that new rules were established to prevent raids, but in reality, the ES team just didn’t repair their base and instead went to prepare for OR. Since this raid was done perfectly legally, the loot taken was allowed to be kept. Coincidentally, due to a bug that benefited the ES team earlier, the NA team got 50 dog tags to balance it out. To the ES team, it looked like the NA team broke the rules again and got rewarded for it by the admins, which the ES team couldn’t stop bitching about later.
    ES team quits. New rules are placed. No going into the 15 x 15 base anymore and structures are coded to be indestructible. NEW RULES ARE IMPLEMENTED AGAIN ON BEHEST OF THE ES TEAM.
    CoconutB then makes a heist, without going into the actual base, but by going on top of the base and stole the scrap heli, which originally was stolen by the ES team from the NA team. This was a controversial technicality as CoconutB didn’t go into any doors to steal the heli. Again, of course, the ES team complained. No new rules were implemented due to controversy.
    New Oil Rig event spawns. NA team establish early dominance with the stolen scrap heli and held the OR. In response to losing OR, the ES team starts to accuse the NA team of using Pythons, which are tier 2 guns. However, no clip from any of the NA vods shows that this is true. Upon asking for a clip of NA team members using Pythons, the ES team couldn’t produce any. In fact, this rumor was brought up by none other than the female streamer who “heard it from chat.” When the NA team loses, they strategize and try new plans to attack the vulnerable ES base. When the ES team loses, they make up false accusations and complain to admins. ES team start making Pythons to use, saying “Oh you guys can cheat and make them so we’ll make them too. Don’t worry, it’s no big deal.” As if they were taking the moral high ground. Typical false flagging. Stupefied, NA team makes them in response.
    Weapons rules are updated to allow Python revolvers. Not to favor the NA team, but because everyone started making them. However, some ES streamers might have truly believed that the rules were made to favor NA. The reality is, it wasn’t.
    With these new guns, the NA team raids the ES team again, legally, as no new rules were made from CoconutB’s solo heist. The NA team went in from the roof without breaking structures and looted items again. At this point, the ES team is fuming and complains yet again. Admins then make new rules, AGAIN. TO BENEFIT THE ES TEAM. No entering the main bases AT ALL to loot or kill.
    NA team goes into nighttime and goes to sleep. During this time, the ES team explicitly break the rules that were literally just built a few hours prior to help the ES team and go deep into the the NA base, kill afk players, and looted items. Clearly illegal. NA then complains, and admins take action again. In response to the rule breaking, the loot taken illegally was returned to the NA team while the scrap helicopter taken legally was returned to the ES team.
    Insane gameplay. And this was just day one, before breaking twitch terms of service even happened.

      I remember playing Ark years and years ago. I was a heavy duty grinder. Take my Quetz and Anky out solo to gather metal multiple times a day to slowly build up an Alpha sized base for my tribe of 6 people all which I knew IRL. Many sleepless nights staying up raising babys they'd pop or bullet grinding runs.
      It also often meant I was the one online defending against whole ass raids. I was fine doing the work until they started grinding bullets to trade for other stuff. They never made a fraction I did total and not once did I store anything away to be traded. Yet I was the last to get a dragon, rock golem, etc;
      I was the first to get a Phoenix but that was for entirely different reasons.

    After watching this fully, I don't understand how Spain can quit while being down 2k tags. Day 2 Toast woke up to being down by 1400 tags and they had to give up heli... They stayed and played. Spain is honestly pretty cracked, watching them fight for a big crate event and winning it was crazy. NA said "oh well, we'll get the next one" and they did what they could to get their lead. With how good the Spanish team played I'm sure day 3 would have been even better content, but we'll never know since they quit... Much respect to NA for dealing with getting rolled by shotguns within the first few hours. I honestly loved seeing when Buddha and AnthonyZ were crafting bows like chickens with their heads cut off during that time LOL. It's still funny to see NA get rolled by shotguns, grab those guns off of their bodies, roll them so hard that Spain forgot that they were the ones that gave them the shotguns hehe. I'm also glad X pointed out that he's staying out of respect for the people that made the event. The admins and everyone involved deserved that much.

      they allowed twig walls to be broken because the opponents usually use twig in rust to build on your opponents base in order to get in similar to ladders. @Walkman100 2 года назад +75

      Yeah I was going to say so too, especially with a game like rust you pretty much have to say if the server code allows it, then it's allowed. With the twig walls, sure if twig walls are often used when attacking someone they should be able to be destroyed, but then that should be communicated - same with the pythons, if they're allowed by code, then tell people that... It seems to me like they didn't have a place where the rules were written so they could be referred to, I think that would have helped, at least so once they change the rules it can be more "official".

I watched the first event but it was a disaster, the second went fairly well but it also ended badly. In both events Alexby was part of the Organization, so he was in the same position as Toast... The thing is that both events went bad because he couldn’t control the streamers and was himself part of the drama. Alexby is easy to trigger, so some streamers try to do whatever they want to be the best, that they ignore the rules and ofc Alexby is going to get mad, but he doesn’t know how to stop them. So it would have been better to choose another person to be the captain, I don’t have anything against him it’s just that he is not the right person to lead this thing, especially after the failure of EGOLAND 1 & 2.

      Those two events don't compare to Rivals. Rivals was competitive one team vs another, Egoland was way more relaxed, friend grouping up and playing usual rust (mixed with roleplay) just the spanish version of OTV server. Which not even OTV's had smooth sailing btw. So, no real point in that comparison neither about any server's success or failure.
      But I do agree on the fact that Alexby didn't qualify as a leader. And those who left the event were very unprofessional too.
      + I find it sad that people talked shit about Carola, and saying how he shouldn't be invited or face consequences from Twitch just for complaining out of frustration (around 1:00:30 I believe). Tags right then were 6k vs 5k, and he was still having fun and making moments in the outpost when tags were 25k vs 5k.

The rule is no stepping foot in the enemy island except for the last day. The banning of specific tier of weapon on the first day just brought confusion so any weapon is allowed. I would also ban the use of heli on the first day (but they can own a heli, they just aren't allowed to use it outside their island) so players would proactively search by teams. Also player are only allowed to enter in specific time, so everyone could take rest, to avoid griefing, and have energy for the next day.

      From what I could tell the server was supposed to prevent damage to objects(buildings, chests, etc) in each team's square but they didn't expect people to use twig, because twig is supposed to be a building plan, to be able to plan properly you need to be able to destroy it, because there's no way to key it to be able to be destroyed by one team and not the other as far as I'm aware. So by trying to use as little resources as possible, the Spanish team decided to make their base fully out of twig, because it's indestructible right? Wrong. Hence the complaints about destroying the base, when it literally takes 2 gunshots.

    The evolution of this event:
    - Raiding drama;
    - Degen gamblers taking 90% of the NA's scrap while half the Spanish side is still hung up on the the supposed rule breaking, 4 hours after it happened;
    - Spanish side wants to quit but are, somehow, still trying to desperately win;
    - Spanish side eventually quits and NA side goes full pepega.
    So many plot twists. One could write a book with this.
    I hope Toast finds the courage in him to do another rust twitch rivals. However, to save him the trouble of dealing with something anywhere similar to this, they should screen anyone wanting to participate on their ability to banter. Nobody likes people who take banter personally.

    During the drama Toast looked so sad! He was genuinely excited when the event began and wanted everyone to have fun. I agree that both sides were in the wrong partly for not making sure rules are strictly put in place. But the enemy team was so disrespectful and unfair to cut the event short when players were grinding hard and despite the drama, playing for fun. Throwing race into the mixture is even worse, saying "NA servers, NA admins" when it was a 3 day event? They just seemed salty about the loss and gave up. Nonetheless, it was entertaining and I hope Toast creates another event with some more light-hearted players to enjoy a good match.

    • @duskfern9041
      @duskfern9041 2 года назад +34

      Yeah, the mass leave was terrible. That said nobody wants to play a game you are doomed to lose and if you see crate events during 2am-8am and for the other side its 8pm-2am I can see why it could feel unfair. Also the whole "you should be there to make content"... If the events are at 2am-8am common man. Those are pretty harsh hours.
      Think mixing teams was the easiest fix.

      Remember the Among Us days when people were blasting Toast for not inviting them and ONLY invited friends, or people he knew and wanted to help create a stream career? This is why.
      The problem is, as soon as ONE person gets upset, it upsets the whole lobby, and everyone in that lobby will get dissuaded in the future. That's why Toast only invited friends and people he knew to play.

      I didn't watch the entire event, but I think complaining about the time issue is legitimate and honestly, if I were on the NA team, being understanding, I would even help propose a more convenient time for both teams, or alternate the event times to the admins.
      Complaining because you're losing just doesn't look very good. I think some of them forget that the entire stream is broadcasted and recorded. It's not a case of, you can scream out false accusations and then say, "I never said that" because when people, especially the audience, realises you're making false accusations on purpose, you're just going to seem like a little prick who cries when things don't go your way. We're in 2022, this is an internet event, you don't get away with that any more.

    Ignoring what actually happened in-game, the issue here is that one team was there to create content, while the other team was not. Looking at it objectively, the goal of events like this is to create content. By quitting en-mass the moment things don't go their way, one team is essentially blackmailing the organisation. Then actually quitting before the end of the event is massively unprofessional. So objectively, it's not a case of 'mistakes on both sides', if you see the event as content creation rather than gaming. Which, as a professional (!) streamer, you should.
