Thanx for taking me along for Smallmouth fishing. I love all kinds of fishing, but smallmouth are my all-time favorite. Another great video. Keep shining!
Young man I have been watching your videos you began posting and have enjoyed them all. That's mostly because of your respect for the fish when handling and releasing. The fact that you seam to enjoy pursuing the same species as I do is a plus, mostly river rockets, northerns and smallies. Just a little Tip as a sign of gratitude for all the hard work making the videos, try the Kalamazoo river between Marshall and Battle Creek for smallies, your river up stream from the boat launch at Lowell for smallies. I'd give you a couple of my honey holes for northerns, but sorry not on an open forum. Keep up the great work and best wishes from an old fisherman.
I'm really glad to hear you've been enjoying the videos! Hopefully lots more to come. I've been wanting to fish the Kalamazoo more, maybe I'll give it some more effort this year. Thanks for the tip!
When walleye season opens up. Let’s see some eyeballs boated/shored. Not seen many fly fishing videos for walleye, it’s not typical method usually. I do know that times during the year you can catch Walters in the Maumee river close to the Michigan/Ohio border. I’d imagine you can catch them on a fly rod there.
Dude I need some smallies in my life! Might have to give the kayak a float down the grand and see what I can find. Hope you’re staying safe in these crazy times!
Awesome video and great catches. We all need to take a moment of silence and pray for the families and countries that are effected by coronavirus crisis. We all will get through this together. As always happy fishing and tight lines my friends. God Bless!
Ive been creek fishing for green sunfish with a micro spoon...closest thing to smallies we have around this part of texas! Theyre so damn agressive on 5lb braid ultralight....
I bought one of those fishing lure retrievers with the wires sticking off the front from eBay for $10. Slides down the line and tangles in the hooks on the jerk bait so you can pull them out of snags. Saves valuable fishing time and your favorite lures!!
Peelindrag shoot man I just got into fly fishing recently if your ever out near the Portland, Lyons area maybe you could shoot me a message and show me some tips for targeting pike! Anyways tight lines!
Still qn open invitation to go bank fishing on the Tittabawassee (Midland). Was out Friday at lunch dragging a small craw on a 1/32 jig head. 5 smallies in about 45 minutes. Three around 16". Come on over to the sunrise side. Let me know if you want company.
It was a really cool video especially so at a time like this what the country is going through it's good to see you out fishing and sharing.
I'm glad you liked it! Hopefully I can keep people entertained with these videos

Great video! We fish the Grand River around Ionia and love to hammer the small mouth. Nicely done 👍

Walleye on the fly is definitely a goal of mine. I'm not sure about the maumee, but will definitely try to make that happen this year

Sounds like fun, those things sure are aggressive! Thanks for watching

I've seen some contraptions like that, may need to check them out!
Luke Hanlon There are lots of different ones. Which one did you get?
Cant wait to kayak it and fish and hammock camp there this weekend
I'll be going after suckers/redhorse in the coming weeks here in Wisconsin. It'd be cool to see you give that a go too!
I'll be going after carp for sure, can try to sneak some suckers in there too. Thanks for the suggestion
Thanks for this, Josh. I would not have thought of a jerkbait in water that cold. Great how-to. Ever do any crappie fishing this time of year?
Jerkbaits are killer for cold water bass! I don't do much crappie fishing, but anytime I get a good opportunity I'll definitely jump on it.
@@peelindrag113 Fly fishing for crappie is a great way to land some specks. My record on fly rod was 15 1/2".
Great video, thinking of getting on Shiawassee River this weekend, if weather permits. Tight lines.
Thanks, good luck!
Love me some pissed off smallie action! My p.b. is a 20" 3lber... gonna try an beat that this year! 😁
Good luck man!
Fishing is the best form of social distancing

Thanks man!

Great video man! Hit me up when you start doing some pike fishing when it opens up! Get you on some 40+ inchers. Keep up the good work man!
Don't know how to contact you, but that sounds like fun!
Peelindrag I will send you a message on instagram and we can set something up. Ill send you my info as well.
Is this southern Michigan? I’m up in the thumb (huron county)
Nope
Lol was in that same spot today and it’s all flooded and the gates are open at the dam it’s crazy down there
This wasn't near any dams, probably will be a bit till the river lowers back down unfortunately..
Peelindrag ahh my bad thought it was a different spot had to rewatch to notice
Thanks for the video! This area looks kayak friendly. How cold was the water you think? Safe for kayaks?
I'd guess water temp was low-mid 40's. You could definitely fish from a canoe or kayak here
what river man? i'm a michigander too
Jay-TeA grand river Lyons mi
@@justinm4543 right river wrong spot 😬
Peelindrag shoot man I just got into fly fishing recently if your ever out near the Portland, Lyons area maybe you could shoot me a message and show me some tips for targeting pike! Anyways tight lines!
Why do you skull drag them in..injoy the fight...geeze thats for u lol
The longer you play them out the more likely they are to spit the bait or get stuck in a snag. Lots more to enjoy than just the fight 👍
