Back in the day , there was no one like this band . They were fire at this time . Ppl talk shit about them now , but they are nothin but magic . On another note , Ppl talkin shit about lars or kirk , you were not there in the 80s . Lars and kirk killed it on albums with somethin completely different from contemporary bands of that time . Listen to the nuances of timing , its actually fkn magic . Music or art is about individuality , doin yr own thing . Not about technical prowess . This is coming from someone who has played guitar/bass/drums for 30 years . Respect to everyone , and thanks Dave 👍
Stil, to this day, this is the best concert I've been to. This show was actually filmed over 2 shows that sold out back to back. The 1st show, the Fri night show that I was at sold out in like 15mins. The show Almost didn't happen because the fire marshal deemed us an unsafe crowd because after the opening act left the stage, like 1500 people or so rushed the floor from the upper and back seats. To be fair, we were borderline out of control. However Metallica convinced the marshal to let them go on because they were going to film the show and they would move way more security to the stage. What followed was arguably one of the top 5 metal performances ever captured on film. It was even more INSANE than the video shows. Best concert EVER
Some suggestions Metallica: "All Nightmare Long" Live in Mexico City "Fight Fire With Fire" (Studio or live in Mexico City) "Leper Messiah" Megadeth "Good Mourning/Black Friday" "Wake Up Dead"
No dude, The difference is here they're in their 20s and now they're in their 60s. You're just simply not gonna be the same when you're approaching being a senior citizen as compared to when you're just barely out of your teens
@@witnesstothestupid I mean you're both right. They, James especially, doesn't have that anger that fueled him (no pun intended) early on and they are just totally different people now. And yeah, they are 60 years old.
@@muriloninja why? did you even listen to Mexico 2009? Or Nimes 09? Those concerts are top shit. Don't be a boomer and automatically diss anything after '99 before listening to it.
Dave, I’m sure I can speak for almost all of us old school Metallica FANS watching your videos. You have their ENTIRE catalog at you’re fingertips. Can you imagine us fans waiting 2- 8 years for new Metallica music to come out?!?! Having to drive to the music store, hoping they still have some CDs left in stock. (Sometimes standing in line at midnight) So, add in those feelings and know how great it is to be a NEW Metallica fan nowadays! Thanks for keeping it real.
"Master of Puppets" album is about all the bad things people let control them , greed, power, drugs, anger, family approval/disapproval, government , any thing that you let control your thoughts and emotions
This is from the Binge and Purge box set it’s the crown jewel of live music! It’s long there’s like 3 concerts that come with this each one is long but amazing!!
The amazing thing is that this was one of their encores after 2 1/2 to 3 hours of non-stop energy and they were still going full throttle. I also highly recommend Fade to Black, Welcome Home Sanitarium, Creeping Death, and Seek and Destroy from this same Seattle '89 concert.
Hey man! I just wanted to let you know that I love your reactions because even if you don’t like the song you find something positive about the song. With Metallica, my experience was my first listen of a lot of songs was negative. But after listening to them for a while they become my favorite. I just wanted to let you know also that at least for me, your reactions are helping to get me through some tough times. Keep the honest reactions and analysis coming! I’ll suggest a song soon. There are just so many to pick from ha ha.
Yeees just watched the all nightmare long vid and live puppets . There is so much Metallica you dont know about im enjoying watching you find new tallica it reminds me of the first time i heard those songs . Loving watching Metallica grow on you ! Little bit out there but PURIFY from there St Anger album 😁
Ok just saw the alert bell hahahaha ohhhh Dave I'm looking forward to this 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 another comment to come after I view it 🤘🤘🤘🤘 I'm super excited brotha
Seen this my senior year in high school......it was not seattle but the same tour.......i seen them in Pittsburgh, PA......noyhing like being at a metallica show live.....nothing
I created a volume preset just for your reactions. It is louder. Edit: Not to say you have volume issues on your end, mate. It just ... deserves... to be louder.
I 100% concur. Not my favorite but a thrash banger no doubt. It's the energy they brought. The unbridled visceral energy that's transmitted back and forth from band to crowd abs vice versa 🔥🤘🔥🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🤘 again I have tons of suggestions but I'll just keep watching lol my man thank u
Killer reaction! The drums sounds like someone overdubbed the original sound from the dvd. The drum fills sounds off and the kick drums sounds flat and almost triggered.
Battery is the birth of speed metal
I was one of the kids in the audience many times at their concerts. God I miss the 80’s.
Jealous
Wow I envy you so much, specially in the 80s? Fucking hell

GOOD GOD, do not have him react to anything past '99.

you gotta listen to the studio version of Whiplash then watch the Whiplash from this show, they performed it much faster than the studio version.
Even the mighty Seattle doesn't defeat the king of all Whiplash cuts...Mexico City 93

The thing that should not be live in seattle 89 plz
I still think they played so fast because they had a bet. Or maybe it was just practice for having to tour with guns n' roses in 92, Oooof!
Killer reaction! The drums sounds like someone overdubbed the original sound from the dvd. The drum fills sounds off and the kick drums sounds flat and almost triggered.
Dude check slane 🇮🇪 fucking amazing, was there myself...they have mastered sound

You should definitely do Holy Wars by Megadeth. Even though Metallica is my favorite band by far I think Holy Wars is the best metal song ever made
Metallica is Great but we want to expand his catalog, That being said CSN 's Southern Cross, The Who "Love reign over Me", oh and Chicago's
