I'm still amazed at the quality of the graphics of the virtual machines, this looks awesome. I can't wait to have my setup finished to start getting these sort of games running as it'll be sitting next to my real Star Wars table!

Why not make the virtual game sound more mechanical? Graphics are amazing, did not notice the difference between real and virtual. I did notice a big difference in sound. I think you should record the mechanics of the table more e.g. flippers, coils, actuators bumpers, whatever a (mechanical) pinball part can make for sound.
I was just going to post the same comment about the sounds. Great to see that the physics are pretty much nailed, although just need more randomness. Back to the sounds..... This comparison does show the sounds of the real pin really make it seem... well real. If you could improve the Zen sounds (or have a user-selectable set of sounds) it will REALLY add to the realism. Thanks!
Nice idea! We did have the glass off our Fish Tales so it was much more loud and sharp than it is when the glass is up. Huge thanks though about the graphics, our 2D/3D guys will be really happy reading this.
This is fantastic! I've been waiting for a digital pinball simulation that accurately modeled flipper/ball physics ever since I played my first game on Farsight's Williams Pinball Hall Of Fame. I actually used that game to learn dead passes IRL. Now, with your Williams Pinball, I think I'll finally be able to learn to drop catch. Seriously, best news ever. I'll be buying every recreation you put out.
A lot of people do 😉 You learn that Pinball is not a game of luck if you see tournament players play. They no the rules of the Pinball (Virtual or real) and have the skills and the you see what Pinball really is About.

We play it every week, it's so good. Really modern mechanics, the lighting is phenomenal. When you start a multiball the whole table lights up extremely strong. It's great.
I sold my fish tales machine last year. After listening to the music here, I am very much missing it :(. I can’t wait to play these on consoles though. Looking good!

Zen, PLEASE give us the option to lock the view of the table. The scrolling and moving around while in cabinet mode can get people sick and it detracts from the game. PLEASE!
Hello Team Ski! We have put this into the 'Classic Single Player' of Williams Pinball machines. Please take a look after launch if it's anything to tweak.
The ball moves and bounces, um, too quickly still. It's particularly visible in the Post Pass / Flick Pass footage. Also as others have said, the audio being off feels weird. It's more than just the glass being off in the video - it just doesn't quite sound right.
In particular here, the bounce sound is weird because that collision is usually inaudible irl. The flipper sounds are somewhat off, though in the video the difference is definitely amplified due to the glass being off.
Looks amazing! I've never purchased the Zen tables (sorry :) ), but based on the care you're putting into the B/W games - I'll be buying every pack on Nintendo Switch! Thank you!
Can’t wait till it releases! Anyway you can make your sound effects sound like the real table when the ball is hit with the flippers? That would really set you guys apart.
We had the glass removed from our Fish Tales, that can cause them to sound a bit differently. We ourselves were surprised how much the glass 'soundproofs' the game. But there is always room to improve, thanks for this suggestion!

Some additional improvements would be: 1/ in general play add more randomness. 2/ add a slight movement of the flipper when the ball hits it. 3/ ball coming off table (hitting glass sometimes). 4/ When ball is wild this is realistic, however in a real pin that wild ball can suddenly die, and drop slowly. If this can be simulated it would make such a difference. Great job so far though !

Good stuff! What really struck me about this video was the pronounced difference in audio! Real pinball is rattly, echo-y, sharp, multi-layered, random. The flippers make a racket. The Zen ball and flipper audio, by way of comparison, sounds simple, dull, muted and unrealistic. Many collision/mechanical sounds are missing altogether. Zen, you're doing a great job. But physics-audio is your next frontier. Please try to make these games _sound_ like a real table. Cheers.
Hello w0mbles, thanks for the feedback. Deep, who you can see in the video have since added some sounds and been working on that aspect of the game as well.
None of those shots work in Canada where every pinball machine has busted flippers. I invented the "load the bow" shot in the early 1980's. The load the bow shot takes the most talent in the sport of pinball. Only I can shoot anything using the load the bow shot. Basically it's shooting flipper to flipper but redirecting the ball at any given point on the machine pinpoint. No one else alive can perform this shot except me. I grew up with busted flippers.

did something happened to the game? i just got these tables and i cant do live catches AT ALL,i could do them all day in pinball arcade, i know that game isnt realistic at all but still its impossible
Really hope the "Deep Engine" for ball and flipper physics appears as an option on Zen fantasy tables (like Tesla, for example). I'd buy a bunch of these if the new physics were an option!
Funny how those work on Williams tables because the ball’s more constricted, yet on Zen tables like Star Wars and Marvel, the ball physics go through the roof.
Awesome, now i hope you will improve the variety of ball movement, ramps in Fishtales are too easy to made in combo's and move the same most of the times. This was in beta 4, Hope it will included day, evening and night light mode. I prefer darker enviroment because i love the lightshows on the playfield

The flipper sound in the real table is a bit harsh, would drive me mad if it sounded exactly like that in the game

Not a bad idea! Not at release of the pack on October 9. We are not against entertaining the thought though.
