As a former Ranger, our history began during the French and Indian wars with British Major Robert Rogers in the mid 1700s.
Rogers required tomahawks to be carried by his Rangers (there are original examples in museums).
The tomahawk is a very versatile tool, used not only for personal defense and offense, but as a breaching tool and rescue operations (just look at what it can do to an automobile)!
No, it is not carried by every operator, but within a unit there will be a few carried, with those from RMJ Tactical being favored.

in my humble opinion, cold steel tomahawks are equally dangerous for the user as well as for the opponent. they definitely need a lot more practice so that you know at all times and moments where each sharp surface of the tomahawk is during the execution of the movements.

It is true, but it is something you can say about every weapon. If you are not skilled with your weapon, its dangerous for you as well for your opponent.

Also, of course, pairing the 'Hawk with my ZT Bowie-modeled knife, The Felon. Very invigorating drill work, indeed!

I bet that you would like the Fokos/Valaska/Sheppards axe too. It's basically a tomahawk head mounted on a walking stick. As a weapon it can keep up with sabres, but it's primarily a tool (besides axe jobs, you can use it in difficult terrain as a crutch, a hook, etc.) Just as you've pointed out in the video, this weapon is highly versatile too and comes in its own weird techniques...

I think you meant to say room "breaching" not "clearing". I don't remember clearing a room with a tomahawk, as cool as it sounds, it just wouldn't be very effective. All joking aside, I do like your take on the modern use of the tomahawk.

knife guys know that the "tang" is quite important to the durability of a weapon, My tomahawk has a full tang to the base. durability is a thing in a survival area. That being said, your gear is dope.

    Most powerful knife ever designed?
I know that Kukri will hit with more authority... When it comes to versatility, then the Bowie might rule supreme. However, I don't think that there is any perfect combat knife. It simply depends too much on context and personal preferences...
