My FPS is usually between 30 and 40 on a good day, but it never goes higher.
@@infinitespace239 Yeah i tried it with my desktop 4090 and the info tab said it was for only 50 series cards kind of a bummer but what you can force with it still gives a performance and image boost
@adamu6941 You can use DLSS4 upscaling on any RTX card. But you need a 50 series card to override the framegen setting in the Nvidia App. I know because I have a 4080 super and it won't let me. Says I need a 50 series card. The benefit to this video is that DLSS4 works better than previous versions. Looks better, sharper and gives higher fps.
Doing this seemed to cause my game bot to launch and say there was an error with EAC and when I reset the setting in Nivida it seems to work like normal. Is the anti cheat sending a false positive about dlss 4?
@@infinitespace239thanks for your quick reply. Another follow up question if you don't mind, do you think that D3D has lower graphical quality than Vulkan?

@ idk if that would affect it much cause its overclocked and beats out my friends r7 5800 for fps on star citizen. At that point tho would it be better to just get a new pc?

@ Download and install MSI afterburner, set up the monitoring overlay with CPU and GPU load as well as the frametime graph. You'll see which one bottlenecks. If one is over 95% most of the time, that's a bottleneck.

Guys if you do this beaware there is a bug with DLSS4 and Vulkan doing this. It causes the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATON error in star citizen. Revo uninstalling Nvidia APP / Reset Drivers to defaults / Re-Optimize drivers as you normally would / Delete Nvidia Shader Cache properly / Delete Star Citizen Shader Cache. Rebooting during this process as appropriate should resolve this error but going back to DLSS4 will re-introduce the error. This should allow you to use Vulkan again with DLSS3. Upon initial implementation of DLSS4 the artifcating you see can be resolved by deleting the Nvidia Shader cache and SC's shader cache, but when I did this that's when Vulkan stopped working and forced me back to DLSS3 in order to use Vulkan. Also there was absolutely 0 performance difference with DLSS4 on or off with D3D11 or Vulkan. So the advantages you see are going to be relative at best and going to be a rarity or I'm willing to bet this youtuber uses an AMD CPU which DLSS is known to work better with than Intel CPU's in SC currently.
@ Now I do not get any gains, but one thing I notice is that 4k is amazingly smooth for me. Even though my fps ranged from 45-70. It didn't feel like it was that low. DLSS Upscaling does work on 30 series cards. 30 Series cards have always had DLSS. All you need to do is install the latest driver and nvidia app for you card. Then you can override the DLSS version to the newest. However, you won't be able to override frame gen on the 30 series card.
