    Great info in this video. I've had a lazy eye (outward) all my life and I am 45 now. It's been heavy on my mind these last couple years to have corrective surgery but am worried about the results causing other issues such as headaches, vision issues etc as well as, if there is even someone in my area that could perform the surgery and a place that offers therapy afterwards.

    Hi,
    I've been following your channel for a while and I really love it, thank you very much for all the information you have given us!
    May I ask you something, please?
    Like you (before you have undergone the surgery), I have consecutive intermittent exotropia on both eyes (20DP angle deviation). I had my first surgery for esotropia when i was 23, and the second one when i was 25 -- but the doc overcorrected in the last one. Since I'm experiencing some double vision and debilitaing eye pain/migraines, i decided to go for another surgery now at 28.
    I'm considering doing VT before and after surgery. But i have the surgery scheduled for March 2024.
    My question is: do you think that going through VT for only three months before surgery is worth? And did you have VT after your fourth surgery right after the surgery, or did you wait for a few months? My fear is thar VT right after surgery would cause muscle slippage but i'm not sure. My ophtamologist doesn't recommend VT at all, so i didn't ask him about the risks.
    (I'm sorry if this has already been answered in any of your videos).
    Thanks in advance 😊

      I think that any VT you can do before surgery is going to help. Even locking in that peripheral vision will help with eye alignment. I waited for a few weeks to start up VT again because I wanted to be healed first. My friend started up the very next week and had great success.

    hey im sorry this video is pretty old but i really dont know who to ask, i have double sight (my left eye lools inwards) thought when people look at me my eyes are totally fine. they look normal, its just the sight. which is really weird cause how would my sight not line up with my literal eyeball… anyways they said i ahould get the same surgery as you but im scared that they will have to make my eye look outwards so that i can actually see straight ahead but i really dont want that :(

      If you look at the research, they say that your eye position is about 80% of the way there by week 1, 95% by week 6 and then very minor changes after that. But of course there are cases that don't follow that pattern. Strabismus is a moving target and is very unpredictable.

    Hello, I have a question: how many times have your eyes been operated on and do you happen to see with both eyes?
    I have had two operations for strabismus but suddenly I stopped seeing with my eye. I have strabismus. At first I saw double, but after a year I began to lose the ability to see.
    How have you kept your eyes aligned and I would like to ask you with all due respect, can you see with both eyes or are you like me who lost the alignment and my vision became more hindered?

    My son has gotten under 1st surgery. And 2nd one is due. I was wondering that did your surgeon operated on both eyes simultaneously or with a gap of few days or months? How much gap is recommended , or 2nd one should be immediately after the 1st?
    And how long does this light pink eye lasts? It has been 3 months since 1st one.

      I had 3 months between my first two surgeries (ages 6 months and 9 months) and we aren't quite sure which muscles were operated on. I don't know about the intricacies of surgery so I don't know what is ideal. I think they like to give it a few months to see how the brain responds to the new position.

      @strabismustostereopsis7799  Год назад +1

      He did operate on both of my eyes. Even though you see the eyeturn in just one of the eyes, the strabismus is a whole brain problem and involves both eyes. If you cover your "good" eye, the "bad" eye will become straight and the good one turns, right? This is because the eyes are yoked, meaning that they work together. Surgeons operate on both eyes so they don't have to make such large adjustments.

    • @SoftwareScience
      @SoftwareScience Год назад

      @@strabismustostereopsis7799 Yeah if I cover my good eye the bad one becomes straight but I never checked if my good eye turns or not, will check that soon...
      I was confused when she said that both my eyes will be involved in the surgery because I was like why... I only have one bad eye and this will be my 3rd surgery and my previous 2 surgery was done only on my bad eye so I didn't really understand it... Basically my good eye stands straight always but my left eye is still turned in a bit and I want to fix it finally forever

      @strabismustostereopsis7799  Год назад +1
