    If you all are that holy then pray for him. I'm never going to sit in judgement of anyone because I have made my bad choices even as a preacher.

      God's hand is not on him , it's called gifts and charisma. Even Saul remained king but that didn't mean God was with Him even after God put him over His people. Jamal is mixing it up with Louis Farrahkahn when the bible clearly says "what fellowship does a believer have with a non believer. .....come out from among them"!!!!!!
      This guy is a Greek frat member of Kappa which is full of idolatry and he takes his daughter to the Beyonce concerts......the woman that openly says she has a demon of Sasha in her. He needs to repent, plain and simple

      +Jerome Williams WHAT? When did her alter-ego (Sasha Fierce) become a demon? You sound a fool! Kappa Alpha Psi is a SERVICE organization! You are messy and judgemental and it's YOU who needs to repent!

    • @itsintheword230

      6 mins of fruit .....because you don't know the bible your own comment shows who the fool is. When you study blgo's, their oaths, hazings, founders, crest symbols, altars at their meetings then talk.
      Beyonce has already said "Sasha(the demon) takes over for her while she performs, now because you like her sin and gratifying your flesh watching her then of course what I say( which is biblical) you will find offense to. Yes! I'm judging the sin and demon that the person is glorifying and that satan is using to hold people in bondage to condone sin which is what I am allowed to do biblically. Perhaps you should read 1 John Chp 3 " these to manifested children of God and children of the devil".
      Jesus called out sin and so did all of the Apostles who wrote the NT along with 100% of the prophets did in the OT so being called judgemental is compliment since I am in good company with those that serve God. case closed.....

    This is such a powerful message and those that have a problem with it are the ones that are "too connected with their mothers." They are the ones, that believe that a man can be with a man. As Pastor Bryant said, a man is supposed to be with a woman. As a man, you are supposed to leave your father's or in some cases your mother's house and find a God-fearing woman, who will be your blessing. For some of you "momma's boys," and those with alternative lifestyles, you are finding this message hard to swallow because Pastor Bryant is stepping on your toes. The woman GOD has for you is your "BENEDICTION."
    Personally I do not care about your lifestyle. It is your choice and not mine. I am not bashing anyone just explaining things for those, who might not be getting it or receiving this word because of your own fear and anger.

    • @janip131

      I don't believe that this pastor should call Tyler Perry out like that as being ungodly in his ROLE as Madea. It's a stage and Hollywood character. The sermon would have been better understood, appreciated, appropriate and accepted (without using a Hollywood actor as his focal point) had he used Biblical references. Gospel preaching is preaching the Bible. All aspects of the message would have been cohesive and no one (including brother Tyler Perry) would have been offended. Say what you want, I know this man (Perry) loves God. One Question: How would JBryant feel if a preacher (NOT HIS OWN SHEPARD/PASTOR) broadcast his life negatively all over the Internet and RUclips. I know Mr. Bryant has not lived a perfect life -- none of us have.

    • @MimMim-hs2rs
      @MimMim-hs2rs 6 лет назад

      janip it's exactly what I thought. His life has been smeared all over TV because his wife or ex wife is on a reality show not leading a very Christian life and what she has to say about him makes Madea look like a nun. Performer's have existed since before Jesus and it's simply a performance, I honestly did not see the relevance of using Tyler Perry's performance as Madea to his message, with that being said, yes I understand what he's saying and can agree but we should be very careful about who and what we are judging because it can and will come back to haunt you.

      I now feel a certain way when people say things like "raise your sons according to the word." I assume by "the word", you mean the Bible. When I see or hear this, I ask people have they actually read all of the [instructions] for men in that book? If they had, they would refuse to apply that book to guide them to live what most people would consider a "moral, ethical, and even a kind" life. Some of those expectations/instructions are horrid and would not yield a person one would even want to live next door to, let alone marry.

      Jennifer Whiten I thought the message was a good one and agree on men and being mama's boys but I feel the pastor is the one who brought way too much attention to Tyler Perry and the Madea character. I see no relevance, even if he continued to acknowledge it himself other than the fact that it felt like it was personal and he used this sermon as an excuse to put it out there. Boy do Christians love doing that, using God as an excuse to away with what's convenient to them. This message and something about it makes me feel uncomfortable, the essence of it was well intended but somehow got lost in translation. There is nothing about the Madea character nor Tyler Perry for that matter that represents a mama's boy, quite the contrary. What a shame.

    Its not any attack on Tyler. And Tyler is not persecuted for his uninvited experiences. But the attack is against the past that is trying to (TRYING TO) hold him hostage. We pray for Mr. Perry that yolks are broken and relationships are mended. I consider myself because I am not above temptation.

    • @janip131
      @janip131 9 лет назад +1

      If God had that type of message for Tyler Perry that message should have been to him alone, personally. Mr. Perry's own pastor is his shepherd to watch over his soul and not Mr. Bryant. Pastor Bryant has his own sheep to tend to. I look forward to the day when preachers stick with preaching scriptures and Bible. There are so many examples in the Bible where Jesus showed MERCY and GRACE to people that received no mercy and grace from others. Why can't we be like Jesus?

    He doesn't mean kick your mother to the curb. He simply means that once you have found your wife, your mother is not the first lady of your life and not the first lady of your household. Many men fail to realize and accept this. Definitely love and respect your mother, and take care of her if she is uncapable of doing so (with the help of your wife & vis versa). But as for your marriage, your wife is your FIRST priority. You can only be SON to your mother, not her MAN.

    He was not speaking badly about Tyler Perry he used it as a parable... Wake up! Instead of getting the word we want to harp on the negative. Who cares who this man used to be or what he did, that’s between his ex-wife and God. Listen to the word where he is speaking from. If you’re easily bothered by some of the negative things then bringing up his pass it’s something in you. I love him and I pray God continues to use him. The truth hurts!

      brotha than u must believe that 9/11 was a terrorist attack. the greatest deception of evil (what we call the devil) is that he/it does not exist. the capability of that evils Knowledge is capable of infiltrating the church. No way should we connect to a man acting as a woman, for it disrupts the consciousness of a man. True the man has to establish a better method and acceptance of being a nurture but Madea is in fact a okie Doke! as a man we should find the feminism within ourselves as men which make us whole, but feeding into the substitute like madea for our responsibility makes and validates the existence of homosexuality

    That's Tyler Perry's truth to share and to be judged by a man of God who cheated on his wife throwing stones at a man degrading women. A sin is a sin it just makes one wonder what's really going on?

    • @jennw5052
      @jennw5052 9 лет назад

      +Rod Mason What's really going on is that there are married men out here who still have ties to their mothers because their mothers refuse to cut the cord because the failed to have a loving relationship and are holding their son's responsible for taking care of their emotional needs as if she was the wife. Caring more about her needs rather than the fact that her son made a choice to get married. This is a real problem that needs to be addressed. Some mothers treat their sons like they are their husbands because they failed to properly raise their sons in order for them to be a man. We need to deal with our own issues and stop carrying around our baggage and imposing our baggage on people and let people live and led their own lives.

      Did anyone else watch the Oprah interview with the victim of molestation besides me? Tyler spoke very candidly about his abuse and he said about his father. If his money abandoned him why was she is biggest fan and why did he take care of her and get her a house. He says very often his mother asked him not to stop doing Mada before she died and now he says once people stop liking her he will give Made or the old broad quick death. His childhood and abuse should have broken him. The fact he has a son and a woman in his life says a lot. These supposed masc fem roles get on my nerves. Love the person for how they love God, you and who they are.

    Aren't we to preach the Gospel? The "good news" of Jesus Christ! When did the Holy Spirit become consumed with Tyler Perry's profession, success, accomplishments and financial status? Tyler Perry's name appears nowhere in the Bible, so why is he preaching about him? Why is this man putting Mr. Perry's business, struggles, abuses and misfortunes (his past) out there like that. We are to cover our brother and not broadcast their calamities and struggles. We are to pray for one another. We all have come short of God's glory. Why is the church so caught up in the things of this world? We are to build up, encourage and bear each others' burdens. No one on this planet has "arrived." God's love in us covers all things. One thing I do know is that Tyler Perry always acknowledges God in his plays and movies. Judge not, lest ye also be judged. LET GOD BE THE JUDGE... There are hurting, dying, starving people in the world who are hungry and in despair. Maybe more time could be spent trying to help make their lives better and give them the hope of the gospel, feed and cloth them. That's what Jesus would do.

    Remember high school Lit class the day we learned about "Symbolism". It is obvious that Bryant is not judging Tyler, he is merely making symbolism with the character of Madea and how so many men treat their wives based on what they saw when they were raised. Even the boys who grow up to be abusive husbands are acting out on their anger @ mom who had the "surrogate uncles" OR because they saw their mothers as weak when their fathers were abusive. Either way, his view of women is now dwarfed.

    first-Who in the bible from the beginning to the end wore pants? second- Who among us that have opinions are doing anything to bring people to Christ, help someone or their community? This man Jamal, cheated on his wife, what does the bible say about that? If wearing a dress is a sin for Tyler, while playing a role, then what is cheating? Let he without sin cast the first stone. You lead by example, not sample.

      Sure he could have, even after he said if his wife did not divorce him, he would have kept cheating. I'm sure he repented when he recently quoted "the hoes ain't loyal" in his sermon. For some reason, the spirit of discernment hits me hard with him. When Jesus saved the woman from being stoned, he told her "go, and sin no more" preaching these days are more of a career than a calling. I don't know if he repented or if God spoke to him or not. What I do know is God holds him to a higher standard, if he called him and we allow the clergy too many passes. There are souls at stake, but hey- everybody isn't fighting for the kingdom.

    While I do not care for most of Mr. Perry's artist offerings (plays or movies), I fail to see what Mr. Perry [himself] his to do with this "sermon"/speech. Mr. Perry is an actor. He often plays a character upon which he has built an entertainment empire. He was not good in the Alex Cross movie, not because of the Medea character, but because he is not that great of an action hero actor. Please to explain what [this one man] and what he does for work has to do with the definitions of all men? This was a weak premise upon to base a sermon. Far too often, preachers use salacious connections like these to bolster insufficient foundations for poorly constructed pontifications.

      You really didn't listen to the man speak did you? I first would like to offer a disclaimer, I am not in anyway affiliated with his church nor am I an avid follower of his.
      He used Tyler Perry as an example, people could not see him as Alex Cross because of Madea ( no t just because he is not a good action star) he has personified himself to women and men as Madea; even his other roles in his own movies shows reflections of her. Now this is not to diss him, just like this pastor said; but because of Tyler's past it shaped him to emulate his Grandmother aka Madea. And now this has become the very person he is now, he is Madea because he emulates his grandmother because she was the only positive force growing up in his life. Abandoned by mom, dad molested and abused him; dropped out of school. She was all there was for him essentially, then he paved his own way already molded by his main role model; who should have been his father (if he was a good man).
      This was not to insult Tyler Perry but to show that brothers are out here reflecting there past and unfortunately not doing good with their wives because of it, this goes for the ladies as well. He used Tyler's story as a mirror for people to see.
      People are to quick to get upset and think someone is insulting another person and before you or anyone says,"why couldn't he use the bible as a mirror or an example" Life is about evolving, the Bible is always there but they use people's lives as examples as well, you only sike yourself into believing that the lives in the Book are holier to hear about and better because you have been forced to accept that and indoctrinated in that way. We have examples everyday in our life of similar things in the Bible, almost the exact same; but we push them aside because they aren't "holy" enough to mention; or we have to be salty or "jelly" to bring up someone else's life. Tyler Perry put his life on blast as soon as he allowed the public to know it; not saying it is okay to insult the man, but if someone can teach a lesson from his life, then hey he had an impact on people.

    • @casiuscaligula8770
      @casiuscaligula8770 10 лет назад +2

      Larry Jake #1 Mr. Perry is not Medea. He is an [actor], and Medea is a character he plays. The reverend did not need to use Mr. Perry to make this argument. HE, again, needed a "platform" from which to jump off in order to get and/or keep his congregants' attention.
      #2 Concerning your assertion that, "before you (sic) or anyone says,'why couldn't he use the bible as a mirror or an example'". You did not see (and never will see) me encourage people to use examples found in the Bible to teach much of anything as it concerns how someone should live his or her life morally. The book is flawed, old, inauthentic, and disconnected to positive living at its core.
      #3 People [should] use Mr. Perry's life as an example to teach others how one can come from so little to so much personal victory (and financial wealth at times also); however, he is an entertainer, and the premise of the argument here is based on the artist's offering and not his "real life". When you base your presentation on that, you are indeed insulting the man, from the side of your mouth. Based of women who raised him, yes, but Medea is not Mr. Perry. She is his most successful character AND his cash cow (pun intended).
      #4 From what we all know about the Right Reverend, I can see how he could have gotten several points made about what a man "should not be" across to his audience using his [own] life.....just sayin'

    • @larryjake7783
      @larryjake7783 10 лет назад

      casius caligula Well concerning point # 2, that was not to you necessarily but anyone who would chime in on my comment and argue that point. I really have no beef of what you say about point # 2.
      Well I do understand that he more than likely mentioned Perry to draw his congregation in, but don't all pastors? That is not to justify his position but to point out that this is not really something new for that platform.
      In Christianity, I rarely see pastors just stick with the Bible, they always pull from outside sources because their own people never read the Book thoroughly, but in fragments and on points they feel are more important.
      As for Tyler Perry not being Madea, well personally hearing about his life coming up, I think he is Madea, at least a part of him is. I know it is a character and he is an actor but the dude had a rough past and his savior seems to be his grandmother aka Madea so if he has any issues ( which is not my problem, just making an observation) it is definitely centered around his past and his Grandmother.
      The rest I don't really think I need to address; mainly because I was speaking from the point of how most Christian pastors speak, they may not all TALK about OTHERS but they do use real life scenarios and events and I guess for whatever reason he felt it was best to use Tyler Perry; as sad as it is, when people put their life on blast they set themselves up for scrutiny. Not say it is okay but, it comes with the territory.
      There is not one person who is popular in this world or famous, that is not talked about or criticized. Just my two cents.

    • @wendiec5405
      @wendiec5405 9 лет назад

      casius caligula Christians are instructed by Jesus to gather together to hear God's Word, the Bible. That's the main point of attending church, so yes, a pastor is expected to relate whatever topic he is speaking on back to biblical truth.
      Our concern is always God's will, not man's philosophy.
      Regardless of your personal belief about the bible, it is God's inspired Word. God remains even the atheist's Creator; such a reality doesn't "go away" simply because the atheist refuses to acknowledge its truth. Neither can your false claims against the Bible "miraculously" make it what it is not.
      Therefore, I would ask that you speak specifically to what "inaccuracies" , "flaws" or "inauthenticity" you claim to see in God's Word and I will be happy to enlighten you on where your misperception likely lies. Otherwise, its pointless to throw out unsubstantiated assertions as though YOUR word is to be viewed by others on par with God's. No reasonable person, regardless of their belief system, should take that level of hubris seriously.
      Spiritual truths are understood by people with God's Spirit. So, what you (or anyone else who is unspiritual) sees as "inauthentic" and "inaccurate" is simply your veiled understanding.
      For it is written:
      1 Corinthians 2:13-16
      This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for,
      “Who has known the mind of the Lord
      so as to instruct Him?”
      But we have the mind of Christ.
      May I dare surmise that I am more versed in Holy Scripture than you--having studied it for nearly 2 decades? I have never found one inaccuracy or contradiction, but instead find deeper and more character transforming realities as I live it out under the guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Don't always assume that your reality IS reality. Humility is the gateway to knowing God in truth.
      For it is also written:
      James 4:6
      But He gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
      That clarified, the long and short of it is this: Jesus is our living example and God's Holy Word and Holy Spirit our guide . . . not social commentary such as Tyler Perry's rags to riches story.

      Wendie C Your [daring] summation is inappropriate because you do not know me or my study habits nor my liturgical experiences. While I do not feel the need to justify my religious studies, solely to address your point, I have studied the Bible (and many other religious books) for over (sic) twenty years.
      To your point of delineating untruths, failings, and/or inaccuracies within the book, well, that conversation would be far too long and detailed to address in a mere You Tube post.
      However, here are just a few small ones of MANY: #1 If Lot was the only "righteous" man in the populous of two entire cities, why did he offer his own daughters to be raped by a mob in place of two dudes he just met at his front door. What the hell? After that, he got pissy drunk, fucked and impregnated both his own daughters soon after God saved his righteous ass after having just killed all of those other people, including innocent children and babies. What the hell did the children and babies do to deserve to get burned alive?
      #2 Moses and the crew did not cross the Red Sea in route to The Promise Land. A mistranslation of the Sea of Reeds stood for hundreds of years. Remember, the book was written by [man].
      #3 On the first day, God said "Let there be light", but the sun was not made until the fourth day. Did he use a lamp? Oh, I've always wondered, if Jesus had a heavenly father, where was his mama? Why din't she ever get any shine? Did his dad raise him in heaven as a single parent? How did he get sole custody of the kid? I smell an affair, just saying.
      #4 You don't actually believe that bull about a 600 year old man (whew, 600 yrs old, we could stop right there) built a wooden cruise ship and put every animal on the planet on it do you?
      #5 Why is it o.k. to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned by the good book? Also, if I see someone working of the Sabbath, will you help me kill them? I don't want to do it by my self.
      #6 The Bible that you probably revere and "study" so hard is not even complete. It even says on the cover it is just a "version" of an in complete collection of ancient writings (and recent "additions" and re-interpretations). If you really want to be spooked out and entertained, you should read some of the books the conclave left out (The Apocrypha). That shit is even more crazy, sexist, weird, and, at times, funnier than the stuff that made it in.
      Thoughts?

    This is stupid. Tyler Perry has played Madea in his films, yes. But I wonder if Jamal ever looked any of the interviews explaining why he plays Madea. Tyler's also played many male rolls in his films (Uncle Joe, the successful layer named Brian, not to mention the male characters in other movies that had nothing to do with Madea). So for this guy to focus on "Alex Cross", as if it's the only male, masculine character Tyler Perry's ever played is ignorant, and in fact "hating on the brother" as Jamal put it.

    What I find so funny is that many people who love or more than likely adore will justify or except what this man is preaching and tell others look beyond his faults because he is a man just like anybody else who sin, the bible informs me that who more is given to more is required sometimes preachers preach things that they feel that may be disgusting or have a very bad dislike for and not preaching out of love, first we must understand LOVE covers a whole multitude of faults. Number one we sin Omission and Co-mission things we do know and things we don't know so there are ton of things that can be preach about not eating healthy is a sin aka being overweight, in fact preaching like this could be a sin why because if it's not in the will of God and out of your own hatred and using God word to fit makes it a sin. People have selective listening. He was not bashing Tyler himself. He was relating the character of a man being tied to a woman, specifically their mother. Some people need examples like this, like a parable, to see and understand the message. It's good for some people to have scripture explained practically, yet not losing sight of what the Bible is saying. The Holy Spirit will guide us. Satan is always ready to attack the Messenger (Jesus) & the messenger (pastor, Christians) & the message (Bible). The devil never wins no matter what negative comments are posted here and no matter what the world says.

    He is actually doing exactly what Jesus commanded his disciple Peter to do. And when you are converted strengthen your brother. (Luke 22:32)

    Many actors play different and conflicting roles. So is he attempting to say that if you act in one role you can not act in another. Then what about the other actors? Can you only act in one role? That's Nonsense!

    I think Tyler Perry is awsome and His character as Madea. I also see the point Pastor Jamals is making.

    Jamal should be in a University not a pulpit. He may be a good teacher but that's where it ends. Oh, and be sure to order his CD. For Jamal the word of God is obviously for sale! Jesus captivated hi followers, This pastor could put 5,000 people to sleep!

    No matter how you feel or what you think -God said its and abomination for a man to put on a womens garment and your ideas or thoughts doesnt matter when the word is displayed. Tyler has to repent for his sins as playing this role or Tyler will find his self in HELL also. You can preach all ur love messages all u want but the same God who is a God of love is also a God of war. remember that! pastor henri
